Don´t know about the viewfinder compared with those Nikons or PZ-1p but it compares favourably with Pentaxes I have owned (LX, ME, ME Super). AF is fast and certainly on par with everything - except possibly Nikon F5. It is even faster if you disable the automatic sensor selection. All the best!
