Their
mechanical shutter was the big limitation in their high shutter speed
of a mere 1/640 sec. time. The E20 also had an electronic-type shutter,
but it only captured every other line, and produced horrible

Canon A60. I think it's an electronic problem, rather than optic. You

anted, I did use a 3mp digicam, but I had the negative and slide mere
centimeters from the lens. I was actually surprised at some of the
detail I got (the texture on the man's sweater, including the dust, for
instance) but the truth is, it's nothing like what even my 1800 dpi
film scanner
bos and cheap film cameras. In fact, if I were
Kodak, I would be preparing marketing right now to emphasize the
benefits of film, and cheap disposable cameras against digital. ;-)
All this is, of course, dependent on the one major weaknesses of
digital _not_ being solved.
