cover doesnt come off as easily as they normally do but still does come

I got the same email too. It certainly wanst local settings that did
anything to it -- i get mail on a unix server that never has to bother

with whichever pentax af body i get after my zx-5n died. But i am pretty
happy with my current manual bodies and dont see getting a af body for
quite sometime. I dont use flash much anyways.

The takumar bayonet lenses were cheap consumer grade k-mount lenses.

I finished my first roll of film in my xr-m. It was a pleasant surprise
to find out when opening the back to take the film out that the leader
was still out! The manual makes no mention of film leader out on rewind
but if this is a assumed feature its pretty neat(and i hope the midroll
rewind does
Being price sensitive, I have actually got most of my equipment at low
prices. My latest buy (a smc k 135-600mm) seems like a very good buy
too. I paid $550. Keh's online quote thingie says they will pay $766
for it :) Looks like I will be able to recover my money and finance some

just wondering: What all lens mount types have adapters available to
mount them on pentax k bodies. The adapter should be without an optical
element preferably. M42 lens is 1. What other mounts ?

In the auto mode, the lens diaphragm stays open so the meter needle
wont move. And the K-mount cams have no mechanism to push the pin of SM
lens which causes the lens to stop down. So one has to always use them
in manual setting (ie stop down metering). This actually allowed me to
buy cheaply lens
I was using mostly SM lenses till a while back tho not on a k1000 but
first a vivitar 4000s and then a ricoh xr-10. The results were always
well exposed so it never occured to me that something was amiss (and i
didnt have k-mount lenses to compare with anyways).

Unless there is some feature you think the zx-m lacks and you really
need, i would say go for lenses. Find out what focal length lenses you
need (read on web. lots of info), and read up on those lenses (or ask
the folks here who have experience with them).
