Some good driving to avoid it. A much luckier creature than one from a
couple of years ago.
The Mt. Panorama track is a public road most of the year out in rural
farmland though. Not quite the same as downtown Perth or Sydney.

OOPS. I forgot to answer the second point. In Australia, as in
Britain, a person most certainly ~is~ innocent until proven guilty. I
can't imagine why you'd think otherwise (more unreliable sources
perhaps). One episode of "Rumpole of the Bailey" would probably teach
you more about British law
