A caution here. The failure where it crashes randomly may be due to heating. While the 44MHz may work now it might crash at a higher ambient air temperature. Well of course thats the problem. I have it runnin at 45.7mhz (275mhz) now since thursday it all works great so far. Nice and speedy.

A caution here. The failure where it crashes randomly may be due to heating. While the 44MHz may work now it might crash at a higher ambient air temperature. Well of course thats the problem. I have it runnin at 45.7mhz (275mhz) now since thursday it all works great so far. Nice and speedy.

Well the first time I tried the 45.7mhz crystal (for a clock speed of 274mhz) it didn't seem to work, but I also had the laptop dissasembled and no heatsink installed. This time I have the heatsink installed, and guess what? The laptop seems to be running pretty stably at 274mhz with 45.7mhz
