Somehow, when I installed RedHat 7.2, my TimeZone was set to GMT,
instead of EST (or America/NewYork in /etc/sysconfig/clock). I have
since corrected the file, but even upon reboot, `date` still reports it
as GMT-5, and ntp resets my time accordingly.

I had great difficulty getting passive mode to work on a 2.2.x box with

Well, it appears to be a kernel problem. What kernel are you running on

Actually, the assignment order is determined by the kernel itself. I
had an incident where botting to an updated kernel reversed the eth0/1

them back.
The best sure fire way to bind them would be:

According to the /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file, nfs mount devices are

Okay Newbie,
What printer config program are you running?
/dev/lp0 (in Windows Terms) is equivalent to LPT1
/dev/lp1 == LPT2
Is your printer connected to your computer (lpt1), or through the

First, you need to configure /etc/nsswitch so that passwd, shadow, and

Right now, they should be set to files nis. When this is in place,

mkbootdisk might be checking out the /etc/fstab & detecting the vfat
partitions (I assume it's your Windows partition).
Comment them out, and run mkbootdisk again. It should not give you
those error messages.
However, if you want vfat support, the best way would be to install the

Why pay for something like that? Try VNC. It's made by AT&T Research

You configure the VNC server on the Linux box, and run the vnc client on
the NT machine.
It's exactly what you're looking for, and easy to configure.
