The manual recommends "checking" the failsafe before every flight. Smart to
do, but how often will reprogramming be required?

I have a shortened Receiver antenna that I kinda like but I can't remember
where I bought it.
It's approximately a 1.25 inch long coil about the diameter of a pencil. The
coil is shiny copper wire covered in a clear plastic.

BUT, a ground based signal gatherer will most certainly tell you about the
clown at the other end of the flight line messing arounbd with his

It looks like the Hobbico antenna utilizes a stereo plug (2 conductors +
grd).
While Mike's uses a mono plug (1 conductor + grd).
Seems to me fairly odd that Hobbico chose the stereo plug for this

The group is very active and knowlegable and may be able to help you or
suggest a repair shop if needed.
There is also available from members of the group a software update for the
MP8K, and it works great.

sit down and write up a proposal to CHANGE them? It does not do anyone
any good to bitch about it, and then do nothing until next year when the

I like to use Burnley's Soldering Paste flux. First, clean the parts, and
it helps to run the steel wire between two peices(one pc folded over) of
320 wet-or-dry to make sure any rust or dirt is removed. Applya small
amount of paste with a tooth pick and solder with good quality 60/40
solder or b
Radio Shack, or MAXX Products sells them. Other electronics suppyers also
may have them. The tool I use from RS is sold to make up the DB-xx style
connectors used on computers etc. Works like a charm. I do not solder.
NOW Please, I answered the question, so let's not get into a crimp vs
solder
Try getting your pins from FMA. He has the best connector pins. He has
them for Airtronics as well. The old ones were different from those used
on JR, Futaba etc. I think the current ones 'Z' are the same as JR, Fut
etc.

Let's try to remember that he MAY be asking only for something attainable.
While possibly knowing that anything higher just won't be agreed to.
I wonder if the FAA would even consider 2000'AGL. Personally, I doubt it.
