I am not aware of any keyboard shortcuts in Word that allow you to navigate to
the next or previous column. Window-Eyes does have a next line/previous line
hotkey that respects columns. So, if you are reading a multi-column document by
line, you should use Alt-Comma and Alt-Period instead of Up

on exiting protected mode and disabling this feature permanently:

Now, after upgrading to Windows10 and WE 9.4, when I follow these steps, when I
try to arrow up and down to choose a different font or font size, WE just says
“blank” repeatedly.
