Ok fine

As I don't have a milliwattmeter, what is the max available out of
that port? Surely not 5 watts?

HRD rig control to connect to Flex using PowerSDR and the correct port. It connects just fine and
works as it should. It can then connect to logbook and DM780 and they work as they should. So
with PowerSDR and DDUtil running I should just fire up logbook and DM780. Logbook connects but the

Logbook still follows the radio but the popup won't go away unless the program is closed. I can

transmit. "Transmit Failed The 9:SMART SDR configuration does not have a TX button displayed.
Press OK to configure the Radio pane layout." When I select OK I see the interface and it
does have a TX button...just won't work. I've tried uninstall, reinstall several times. System
reboot several times. Verifed that HRD all works correctly stand alone without DDUtil. I'm pretty
much convinced that it has something to do with starting up the server and the logbook and DM780
identifying as the wrong software. I tried changing HRD to SmartSDR and connecting. It kinda
works but TX hangs and the rig won't unkey. Obviously not compatible command structure. Any idea?
I hate running HRD rig control as it's redundant...only need the server. Used to use Minideluxe,
but yet another piece of software to run on top of the others. G. Thanks for any suggestions.

[Flexradio] FlexRadio web server maintenance scheduled for 3:30 GMT 13-Mar-2016

2016-03-11 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
This is an announcement that we will be performing web server
(www.flexrdio.com) maintenance this weekend starting at 3:30 GMT on
13-March-2016. During this maintenance window, the web server will be
off-line as we migrate to higher grade service plan. Once the web site
is back on-line later in the day, I will make an announcement on the
Community (https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio).

This activity is being undertaken proactively in order to provide a
better user experience when downloading new SmartSDR and Maestro
releases. The server and bandwidth upgrades should help alleviate
congestion issues n experienced previously when new versions of SmartSDR
are released and available for download. In advance, we apologize for
any inconvenience this maintenance activity may cause.

other part of this is the Firewire cable, the Firewire port, and the computer.
I have heard that even with the Flex 5000, there are some situations where 192
is problematic, and 96 is more stable.
I don't understand all the hurtles for a Firewire port to work, but perhaps
look at the CPU utilization. If your CPU is running over 20% at 96 Kb sample
rate, then perhaps it's best to just leave that setting alone. With my AMD
FX-8350 4G 8 Core processor, power SDR runs at 2-4% CPU load.

In fairness to Flex though, those that "brick" a Flex using 3rd party software
should not try to get free technical support from Flex to resolve the issue.

The FLEX-3000 will not operate at 192 K sampling rate. You cannot set
this from PowerSDR, so you must be using the Firewire control panel
which is not recommended.

I have very carefully been following the install procedure on the HRD

[Flexradio] FLEX-6000 Trade-UP! Program Now Available!

2015-11-11 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
As FlexRadio continues to add additional features and value to the
FLEX-6000 series radios, we are witnessing a desire from many of our
customers to move up to the capabilities of the higher end models. In
light of this, we are excited to announce the FLEX-6000 Trade-UP!
Program designed to get you the extra performance and capabilities
you've been longing for.

Starting today, FlexRadio will allow you to Trade-UP! your existing
FLEX-6X00 transceiver to a higher model of your choice. Trade your
current FLEX-6X00 transceiver for a new FLEX-6X00 transceiver by simply
paying the difference between the price of the new radio and the value
of the traded radio. The trade-up value of your radio is subject to the
model, age and condition of your transceiver. Upon receipt, inspection
and approval of your trade, FlexRadio will subtract the trade value for
your radio from the selling price of the new radio to be purchased. This
promotion can not be combined with any other sales discounts or promotions.

Further, for those of you are looking for a pre-owned model this may be
your chance. As many Flex owners Trade-Up!, we will have certified used
models available for sale from time to time. Contact sales for
availability or to get on the waiting list if none are immediately
available.

The Trade-UP! program is not currently offered to customers outside of
the U.S.. Any trades sent to FlexRadio from outside the United States
will be returned to the sender at the sender's expense. FlexRadio is not
responsible for shipping charges, non-delivery or damage to trade-in
items during shipment. FlexRadio Systems reserves the right to
discontinue this program at any time.

For more information or to inquire about a trade, email us at
sa...@flexradio.com or call sales at 512-535-4713 and press 1.

Unfortunately, that advice does not seem to fit my configuration.
It would be very helpful if someone could show me a simple application

or, offer a current install procedure with up to date examples.

I did not do the first install, it was done for me by AJ4TW to get me
off to a good start. I could get him to come do it again but that is
very bitter medicine for us old-timers. I really need to work this out
with the available resources.
The one other change was that We were using his vac which I removed

Re: [Flexradio] Noise cancellation Flex 6000 series

The Anan (more correctly, the PowerSDR OpenHPSDR) is using the same null
forming algorithm that we developed for the FLEX-5000 with the RX2. So
we are very familiar with this feature and how it works.

If you have aFLEX-5000 + RX2 with the latest version ofPowerSDR, you can
do the same thing today.

We are planning on adding this feature to SmartSDR for the FLEX-6700.

Absolutely amazing how the noise can be phased/nulled out. If Flex can get this
incorporated in a future firmware build, they will have a winner. Living in a
city
with noise pollution can often make ham radio operating impossible. When I
switch
on and see a green/yellow waterfall due to neighbour QRM, I simply switch my rig
off.

The MFJ-1026 is an option, and I bought one, but it is fiddly and messy with
cables running all over the shack - much easier to accomplish the same from
within the SDR.

Could a install of powersdr, setup for a 5000a ,cause a problem by just pluging
in the usb cable and running the 1500 for the first time? I have run both my

Iam happy to refund his money if the 1500 has a problem with its

Re: [Flexradio] PowerSDR and Falling prices

2015-03-04 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
Correct. The firmware which gets updated with almost every new version
of PowerSDR is closed source. We are compelled to keep the source
closed by FCC regulation as this is where the transmit frequency
restriction logic is stored.

Based on the architecture of the radios, there is very little processing
that is or can be performed in the radios by the internal CPU other than
hardware command and control. If you wanted to innovate or improve
PowerSDR, you would be doing it in the DSP (DttSP) or in the console C#
portions of the code, both of which are fully open.

The 1000 was running fine on 2.5.3. went to use the
radio today
and once it goes thur its boot and you click the on button on
powersdr the radio
goes into transmit and have to shut it down. also reads hi swr even
though a

dummy load is connected.
what I did, checked all connections on the radio,FA-66 and the
computer,all

are correct.
thought maybe the software was corrupted ,so cleaned house and
removed all the
flex and all the power sdr files and did a clean reinstall of 2.5.3.
install
went as it should. re booted the system and the same result ,instant
transmit

hi swr.
When power sdr is booting, there is NO relay noise from the 1000
at all
,listened twice to be sure, nothing. used to hear relays clicking in
or out.

Tried every thing with a older powersdr, same thing.
Any one have any ideas as to what is going on or how to correct it.Iam
stumped.I read the trouble shooting giude, they mentioned a RESET I
clicked on
the only reset button I found at the bottom right edge of power sir,
is there

some other button?

I have a Flex 5000A w/RX2. I want to control a bandpass filter using BCD
information off the second receiver (VFOB). As the band is changed on the
radio, it should change the band selection on the filter. The filter would
be used in an SO2V contesting arrangement, so I want to use the filter on
the SP radio (or VFO B in this case). I'm told that DDUtil only works by
following the frequency that has TX focus. This won't work in my
application because whenever TX focus shifts from the CQ radio (VFOA) to
the SP radio (VFOB), the bandpass filter will switch bands - NOT what I
want!

Is there any way of making this work?

Hello all --

When I am using the second receiver in my Flex 5000A for ESC purposes,
my transmit audio sometimes becomes garbled. It sounds like my voice
is being doubled and mixed with itself a few hertz off frequency. This
does not affect receive at all, just transmit, and it is intermittent.

The only real solution is to manually turn off the second receiver
before transmitting. A database reset, even back to default settings,
is only a temporary fix; the garbling always returns after a few
minutes or hours.

Any ideas?

Try verifying that the system files are not damaged by running sfc

The sfc utility will scan your system files and attempt to repair any
damage that it finds. Note that it might ask you for the Windows 7

I started getting strange issues where I would come to the shack and

No way to read messages except through a browser -
in contrast to my desktop, tablet and smartphone where there are many
quite good custom apps for handling mail efficiently.
Jack, Community is not a mail based system; it is a web based
application designed for customer engagement, so the capabilities you
refer to are not inherent in the capabilities of the community; a web
browser is required. I use my tablet to view the Community as a web
page while traveling on business. I agree it is a little tedious to use
an small screen device like a smart phone, but I don't think an app
would solve the screen real estate issue either.

I searched for a way to set up a forwarder so that messages would be
sent automatically to my regular mailbox, where I know how to do all of
those things plus more. Couldn't find any way to do it.
When you post a reply or start a topic, you are automatically subscribed
and will receive e-mail notifications when there is new activity on your
post. You can subscribe to other posts individually or to entire
categories by adding it to your profile configuration. You can also
subscribe to the RSS feeds as well. Here is a URL that describes how to
follow topics:
https://getsatisfaction.com/corp/help/managing-email-notifications/

The how to
use the community information posted by Flex is minimal at best. No
answers there.
The intent if the how to use the Community page is a basic introduction,
not a comprehensive post for using all aspects of the community.

Shortly after I signed up I posted a question about something. There
may have been replies. But now I can't remember exactly how I posed
the question, and I can't find that conversation. There's no
SentMail folder to capture all the messages I have sent, and no way to
carbon-copy my mailbox as I send something.
See my comments above on following conversations. It sounds like the
replies may have ended up in your junk e-mail folder.

It also seems that the Flex Community materials are somehow hidden from
search engines. If I Google flexradio.biz haverty, I get a list of
postings I've made on this list. If I Google community.flexradio.com
youngblood to see what the company president has said, I get nothing
except a pointer to community.flexradio.com.
I just did a Google search on community.flexradio.com GPSDO and it
returned 24 relevant hits from the Community. Only the user alias is
in the HTML of the post, not the full name so Google will not return
posts using the search criteria you listed above. However, if you use
the Community user alias, in my case Tim - W4TME, hundreds of hits are
returned.

It's possible that I just didn't spend enough time to figure out how to
do any of these things. But I find that I don't log in much at all,
and when I do there's such a hodgepodge of stuff that it's hard to see
if there's anything of interest since I last looked.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to get a feed of the
community messages into email, or a newsfeed, or any other such
mechanism that is commonly used

Re: [Flexradio] Using SDR Data Transfer Between Computers

2014-07-31 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
Yes. As long as the radio models and PowerSDR software versions are the
same, you can transfer the database from one PC to another.

The easiest way to do this is the start PowerSDR with the radio
connected to the Win7 PC. Open the Setup form and do a database
export. Copy the resulting database file to the Win8 PC (the desktop is
a convenient place).

Shut down the 5000, connect it to the Win8 PC, power it up and start
PowerSDR. Open the Setup form and do a database import. PowerSDR will
restart and you will be running using the Win7 database.

In the future, I highly recommend that you open a HelpDesk support
ticket if you require support from FlexRadio systems. It is the fastest
and easiest way to get answers to your technical questions.

Same here, I have lost a BUNCH of 2N3055 pass transistors over the last 30
years and equipment that was attached to the Power supply, Also the big
Electrolytic goes bad and you have a lot of AC ripple after about 5 years of
operation.

If your equipment is important to you rebuild the Astron P.S. every 5 years
or so of continuous operation, you may be lucky enough to get 10 years out
of it but your asking for trouble, this is why around here you never see
Astron Power supplies at a commercial Mountain top site on commercial radio
equipment.

Most Commercial installation these days use there own design, I do know
Kenwood systems use Duracom switcher Pwr. Supplies but these are a bit noisy
on HF so don't play well in Amateur use.

Dudley,

I agree. Our club had an Astron RM-35 that had the series pass transistor
fail (short). The output voltage went to the maximum provided by the
transformer the 2 rigs connected to it were damaged. The Yaesu FT-950 was
repairable, but a Yaesu FM rig was not economical to repair.

A problem with linear supplies is that if the series transistor fails, the
result is a serious over-voltage situation.

[Flexradio] Be prepared for 2nd hand radios for sale

2014-05-09 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME

This is just a proactive friendly reminder.

One of the allowed practices on the FlexRadio reflector isthe ability
for Flex owners to post their FlexRadio products for sale and for
perspective Flex owners the ability to solicit list members looking for
second hand FlexRadio Systems products (wanted to buy or WTB posts).
With the recent announcement of the FLEX-6300 Signature Series SDR, we
have learned that there may be an increase in these kinds of reflector
postsin the coming weeks. For your reference, here is the exact excerpt
for the reflector guidelines that is applicable to this subject

Commercial postings are allowed only if they relate to FlexRadio
products, SDR, home brewing related to SDR, building etc. and are of
interest to this list's membership. Please keep them as short as
possible and provide web links to more detailed information. The
reflector moderators will step in if we feel someone is posting too many
messages of this type. Promoting freeware products that enhance the
FlexRadio experience is encouraged.

Because this is an allowed practice on the reflector, receiving these
types of posts via the reflector is not SPAM and should not be treated
as such. Spam is unsolicited e-mail. By joining the reflector via a
double opt-in process and accepting the reflector guidelines, no post
received from the reflector is actually unsolicited and therefore is
technically not SPAM. Please do not reportreflector posts of this
nature as SPAM, as that may jeopardize our ability to maintain this
reflector.

Also as noted in the guidelines listed above, the reflector admins do
monitor this reflector and will intervene if WTB and For sale posts
get excessive or start showing up for products that are not allowed by
the reflector guidelines.

As per the CAN-SPAM Act, FlexRadio ensures compliance by providing a
link at the bottom of each reflector e-mail for you to voluntarily opt
out of the FlexRadio reflector by canceling your reflector membership if
you no longer want to receive reflector posts. All you have to do is
access the reflector membership page and enter the e-mail address you
are subscribed to in the blank at the bottom of the page to access your
account settings. Once logged in, you can unsubscribe to the
reflectoror choose to temporarily stop receiving reflector posts.

Thanks for allowing me the bandwidth to share this QST. I hope everyone
has a wonderful weekend.

2014-03-18 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
I agree that there have been a lot of reports of issues with v4.13, but
I think you went too farin your down grade. Get v4.12 and try it.
V4.09 uses an interrupt method for processing the audio datarather than
the streaming method introduced in 4.10 and in my humble opinion,
perfected in v4.12. There is better (lower) latency with v4.12

If you need help creating the VAC cable definitions, then you can use
this registry file to create 7 VAC channels (6 is the max you can use
with a 5000+RX2 and a 1500 running on the same PC and 1 channel to use
as the Windows default sound device if your PC does not have a sound
card or is one where the input/output lines are not active unless you
have something plugged into it)

threading bug that made VAC work more efficiently on multi-core CPUs.
But that was the only significant change between 4.11 and 4.12 that

2014-03-01 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME

Steven,

I do not think you fully understand the role of a community. It is
driven by community users, not FlexRadio. The reason that you do not
see the FLEX-1500 and FLEX-3000 product categoriesvisible onthe
categories side bar is because there haven't been enough posts by
FLEX-3000 and FLEX-1500 users. It shows the products and service that
have the most activity.

And as far as cookies go, he only ones we use are session based cookies
to uniquely identify you while you are logged in and to process your
interactions with the FlexRadio Community. We are not spying on you.

We use persistent cookies that only we can read to make it easier for
you to log in to the service and use its features. Cookies are also used
for performance reasons and for technical reasons such as balancing our
website traffic to ensure our customers receive reliable and consistent
service.

Session cookies: Session cookies are temporary cookies that expire and
are automatically erased whenever your close your browser.

Persistent cookies: These usually have an expiration date far in the
future and stay on your computer until they expire, or until you
manually delete them.

Essential Cookies: Many of the cookies that we use are essential to the
use of the Communityapplication and it will not function correctly
without these cookies.

Functional Cookies: We use other cookies to track users' activities on
the site, to understand user preferences and improve the user's

In the mean time I solved my original issue.
My waterfall on my Flex-3000 disappeared however my Flex-1500 running on
the same computer at the same time did not.
A reboot of Windows 7 restored it. I had done a factory reset before doing
that and it didn't restore it. So it was a issue with Windows 7.

As far as the FlexRadio community goes. You have to go looking for the
legacy FlexRadio products. They are non obvious. All you see is 6000 series
FlexRadio products.
They are still selling the Flex-1500 and Flex-3000. They should be
obviously represented. You shouldn't have to go looking for them.
I can't afford a 6000 series radio. I have what I can afford. I am willing
to meet FlexRadio's need to concentrate all the stuff formerly done on the
reflectors on the community.
That said don't force me to go looking for my product category by looking

Third party cookies and not good. You don't know what they do or what they
are spying on as far as your online activity. That is why I have them
blocked by default.

Thanks for the help effort. Issue resolved.

Re: [Flexradio] Possibly wrong region bandplan in FW after upgrade.

2013-12-28 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
Actually, the TURF region of your radio, which is in the firmware does
determine your BandText data. If you have had your radio TURFed for a
different region, then you will have region specific BandText data and
Band Edge data. The later is determined by your IARU region.

Ray is right that the info displayed under the VFO is display only and
has not effect on the transmit limits of your radio. If you modified
your BandText data in a previous version of PowerSDR, the procedure
described below will allow you to transfer it to a different version of
PowerSDR successfully.

Rob,

The text that is displayed in the VFO areas is determined by the BandText
table in the database. It is not dependent on the firmware. The firmware
only controls where you are allowed to transmit.

1. Open the PowerSDR-DataTransfer utility. (Be sure you close PowerSDR

first.)
2. Select your v2.6.4 database as the source database.
3. Select your v2.7.2 database as the destination database.
4. Select Transfer by Table.
5. Click on BandText so that it is the only table selected.
6. Click on Replace Tables.

You old band plan text should be back.

Note that this only affects the text that is displayed in the VFO display.
It will NOT affect what your transmit frequency limits are. If the transmit
band limits are wrong, then that is a question for Flex support.

Re: [Flexradio] PSDR v2.7.2 Instability (TM)

2013-12-28 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
I agree. I can attest that in 99.99% of the issues I have resolved with
symptoms like yours, the PowerSDR software installation was not the root
cause. A reset to factory defaults and using the newly created database
for a while before importing or transferring data from a previous
version of PowerSDR is a tried and true troubleshooting technique.

If you read the release notes, there is a section about how the higher
performing streaming Firewire driver will stress systems that were
marginally operational. You did not tell us how big a DPC spike you are
experiencing, but anything over 2000-2500 uS is where th trouble
starts. The new driver can absorb larger spike, but you have to
configure the driver operation mode to safe mode 1 or 2 and set the
PowerSDR audio buffers to a larger value to queue the streaming IQ and
MIDI data during the DPC induced data outage.

If you are still having issues, I recommend that you submit a support
ticket via our HelpDesk (http://helpdesk.flexradio.com) so we can assign
you a case number and investigate it further. Our support team has much
more experience troubleshooting and resolving these types of issues.

Your experience sounds very much like mine - worked great for a few days
then became unstable. I thought it had improved yesterday with a different
buffer size; however, today the system is so unstable PSDR will only run for
a few minutes prior to freezing and crashing.

I had run LatencyMon v4 last evening, and things looked like normal - some
DPCs but very untroubling. Found the v6 upgrade which is now reporting
pretty large DPCs from, like yours, the NVidia card. Also the DirectX
kernel. Well, the NVidia drivers were just updated recently and are the
latest. Do you know if there are any performance levers to adjust there? Not
sure where to look for a solution to the DirectX kernel DPC - just starting
to look around now.

I am not ready to blame v2.7.2 either at this point; however, why things
worked at first and are now so unstable with no known changes to the
computer is most puzzling. Think the next thing I will try is blowing 2.7.2
away and trying a fresh install. If no go there, then maybe rolling back to
previous version makes sense until possible bugs with computer get sorted.

Also, just in case have run all the virus and malware checkers I have with
no issues. Getting ready to run TDSKiller while at dinner. If there are any
really nasty bugs hiding and stealing system resources, that should find
them.

Re: [Flexradio] PowerSDR-DataTransfer Problem

2013-12-18 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
Earlier this week FlexRadio Systems released PowerSDR^(TM) v2.7.2 with
the new PowerSDR-DataTransfer v1.0.0 Utility. It came to our attention
that when using PowerSDR-DataTransfer v1.0.0, a certain sequence of
events of would result in the PowerSDR-DataTransfer's setup file
becoming corrupted, not allowing for proper operation.

This software defect was identified and corrected in version 1.0.1 of
PowerSDR-DataTransfer which is now available for download and
installation. Also PowerSDR-DataTransfer v1.0.1 is not included in all
new PowerSDR v2.7.2 installations.

FlexRadio Systems recommends that you upgrade to PowerSDR-DataTransfer
v1.0.1 as soon as possible. Below is the PowerSDR-DataTransfer upgrade
procedure.

1.) Shutdown PowerSDR and PowerSDR-DataTransfer if they are open

2.) Uninstall PowerSDR-DataTransfer

Either open the Windows Control Panel and use the Remove a Program
applet to remove PowerSDR-DataTransfer v1.0.0 -or- Use the Uninstall
PowerSDR-DataTransfer option located in the Windows Start
Button-FlexRadio Systems-PowerSDR-DataTransfer folder to uninstall
PowerSDR-DataTransfer v1.0.0

3.) Download and install PowerSDR-DataTransfer v1.0.1

Download the updated PowerSDR-DataTransferSetup.exe program from the
FlexRadio web site. Run this program on the PC where you have PowerSDR
v2.7.2 loaded to install it.

The download URL is: http://support.flex-radio.com/Downloads.aspx?id=435

Once you have upgraded to PowerSDR-DataTransfer v1.0.1, you should be
able to migrate data from previous versions of PowerSDR into PowerSDR
v2.7.2 without any operational errors.

If you experience any issues with the upgrade of PowerSDR-DataTransfer
v1.0.1 or are not comfortable running the upgrade procedure listed
above, please submit a HelpDesk support ticket at
http://helpdesk.flexradio.com/home for official FlexRadio Systems
technical assistance.

Have you checked to see if you have the latest setup info?

To update, open PowerSDR-DataTransfer and click on the Options
button in
the top right hand corner of the program window.

Click on the button Update Setup Data. You should get a
message that
your setup data is not up to date and you will be prompted to update
it. Click Yes to update it.

If you have a reliable Internet connection, check the box that says
Automatically check for Updates and then click the Save
Changes button.

From this point forward, when ever you start PowerSDR-DT, it
will check
to see if you have the current setup data and program executable and
prompt you to update if you do not.

Yep, you are right. The premap annunciator is not being updated

it into the PowerSDR bug tracker.

Thanks for the report.

Here's another:

1)For 20 meters and 15 meters, set Preamp to Pre2
2)Go back to 40 meters and make sure its still on Pre1
3)Go back to 20 meters and notice it says Pre1 (even though you
left it at Pre2)

4)Go to 15 meters and notice it changes to Pre2
5)Go to 20 meters and notice it now says Pre2 like it should.

Conclusion: The display of the actual preamp setting seems to no
coincide with actual setting. Anyone else see this?

FlexRadio Systems has been granted an exclusive license to distribute
SDRDataTransfer as part of the PowerSDR installation package.
The version
licensed to FlexRadio Systems has been renamed
PowerSDR-DataTransfer and is
included with PowerSDR v2.7.2 and later versions.

SDRDataTarnsfer is no longer available for download from my
website. There
will be no further revisions to the previous SDRDataTransfer utility.
Likewise, there will be no further updates to the SDRDataTransfer setup
data.

Updates to the PowerSDR-DataTransfer setup data will be
provided through the
FlexRadio Systems website.

All users of SDRDataTransfer should switch to
PowerSDR-DataTransfer which is
included with PowerSDR v2.7.2 and later.

Re: [Flexradio] SDRDataTransfer No Longer Available

2013-12-16 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME

Have you checked to see if you have the latest setup info?

To update, open PowerSDR-DataTransfer and click on the Options button in
the top right hand corner of the program window.

Click on the button Update Setup Data. You should get a message that
your setup data is not up to date and you will be prompted to update
it. Click Yes to update it.

If you have a reliable Internet connection, check the box that says
Automatically check for Updates and then click the Save Changes button.

From this point forward, when ever you start PowerSDR-DT, it will check
to see if you have the current setup data and program executable and
prompt you to update if you do not.

Re: [Flexradio] Is anyone using a single PC to run two SDR radios?

2013-12-12 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
This is covered in the PowerSDR release notes, in the FLEX-5000 and
FLEX-3000 Operation Notes, item #2

The bottom line is that you can not run multiple Firewire radios on the
same PC. You can run a FLEX-5000 or FLEX-3000 with a FLEX-1500.

To run another version of PowerSDR, you jut start it and then
acknowledge that you want to run another instance when prompted that one
is already running.

Each instance of PowerSDR needs to have it's own set of VAC and virtual
com ports defined for it.
