Louie if you walk into a totally dark room and fall into a three foot hole,
how many feet have you fallen.
If you walk into an amply lit room and fall into a three foot hole, how many
feet have you fallen.

You are missing a default route to the internet.
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 206.107.237.x where x is the address of the cable
modem.
However if the 2521 can't see it, either somthing else is wrong.
Are the interfaces Up,Up?
A sh ip int bri should tell the tale on the 2501.

Hi,
Hope somebody can enlighten me.
I got this router 2 uplinks and 1 connected to my LAN. When I performed "sh
int" on the respective interfaces, this was the result:
Uplink 1:
5 minute input rate 501000 bits/sec, 373 packets/sec
5 minute output rate 1748000 bits/sec, 330 packets/sec

The PC shouldn't ARP for a bridge. A bridge is transparent. It should ARP
for the end station. Something is weird with addressing and submasks.

Are there any Cisco certification test center for 640-503 BSCN cheaper
(less than $100.00) than Sylvan Prometrics ? Thanks in advance.

If you were running RIP V1 on your network,
correct design would dictate that all the local networks "must"
appear in the routing table of your routers.
If one of your users accesses a network not in the table,
the router would send an icmp "network unreachable" with no IP classless and

Got a question on traffic shaping. Have a couple high speed frame pipes
going into data center/server farm locations. Speeds are 9.264MBPS at
datacenter, 6.176MBPS going into primary server farm, and 4.632MBPS going
into a less-used server location.
Remote sites are running from 128K to 1.544Meg.
Where did you get the 206.107.237.0 address?

Cisco routers by default are still classfull, even though the internet has
long since gone classless.
For a router to effective understand CIDR routes that don't fall on
classfull boundrys it is necessary to turn off the default by executing the
command ip classless
