alternator so as to not put too much drag on the engine. I sized my at 80 amp
for a 33 hp diesel. I estimate I lose 3hp when full on charging. Any more,
and you start losing, in my opinion, too much HP.

quartering seas on a run from Block to Buzzards Bay.

Autopilots without a flux-gate compass are problematic and add to that no input
from the rudder angle and you have a "auto-weaver".
My Simrad wheel-pilot on my Bristol 30 did not have either. Hence the

I also explored wire vs. rod.Is that cost differential factoring in all
hardware (turnbuckles etc) that need to be switched out or just the rod/wire?
FYI...I am going with rod because at the end of the day, given all the hardware
that need be replaced, it was not worth it.

When I first owned my 34+ it was pretty much in original "untouched"
condition. The mast step had a nice drain hole leading into a clear plastic
hose toward the bilge but there was no drainage. I traced the hose to find a

Agree...many miles offshore and coastal. Every time I changed the filter as a
fix it was clean. It was always something else. Mind you I removed the tank
when I bought the boat and cleaned it thoroughly.

Sam I also have the 2 blade Martec and a 26. I have not found poor performance
in reverse but I don't do it a bunch either. Can push just fine going forward.
