Seems like I can't do a single thing with rpmdrake-1.3-28mdk.i586.rpm
without it segfaulting, including adding media (I deleted all my
medias to start from scratch hoping that would fix it). How did this
one make it past basic QA?

IDE HARD DRIVE, CDROM
Both network & CDROM installs work fine. Even identifies correct amount

Try passing ram options on booting the installer.
If it isn't too troublesome, can this be integrated as well?

Several fixes possible:
1) remove the README from packaging altogether
2) rename README to README-2.4.2-something in packaging
3) rpm -ivh --force ^_^

I cannot make a working launcher Icon in gnome. Both for the desktop and
the panel.

Ok once I loaded esound the Control Center -> Multimedia -> Sound is now
staying checked and I have sound.
I found the libesound is loading but esound is not. Same as OpenSSH is
loading but OpenSSH-client, askpass, server are not.

Lupus,
Mandrake folks compile GtkHTML with gconf support, and when Pronto uses
GtkHTML and tries to init it, GtkHTML complains that Gconf is uninizlied and
therefor craps out, the Mandrake guys say its a bug in Pronto, I say GtkHTML
should initlize Gconf? or something lke that, what do yo
I've had exactly the same problem with urpmi updates on my reiserfs
partition.
The problem only started within the last few days though - updates were
fine before.
I tried restarting each time but my lib files became corrupted somewhere
along the line - I've just reverted to beta2.

Hi
I'm using KDE 2.1.0 and I tried to make the Macromedia Flash 5 plugin to work.
And well, it doesen't. Below is the output from nspluginscan. Any ideas?

Is anyone planning to replace the current GNOME splash screen image? The
foot has many artifacts around it which leave it quite unpleasant to the
eye. Why not use the Ximian images or something similar? I hope it's not

Hi,
upgrading the setup package results in deleting the postgres user, because
the uid is 40 and the user is not mentioned in base-passwd/passwd.master.

(Info : cooker, postgresql-7.0.3-8mdk, setup-2.1.9-39mdk)

I'm putting the cooker on a Dell Inspiron 8000.
I had setup a system:
/ = ext2
/usr = reiserfs
/home = reiserfs
I was getting a weird problem. During random disk activity. e.g. installing
rpm updates. The rpm process would fre
Hello,
Last night ftp install with PCMCIA image. Went well, only
a couple of very minor issues.
Message when loading modules for starting the card services
said that card services did not match kernel. Still worked though.
Bad packages - Drakconfig and Abisuite, which
Boot is ok but... making filesystem --> making raid devices just produces
mkraid failed
End of my first today's installation... I tried with latest kernel and
