Re: java.lang.NullPointerException

2007-03-05 Thread Matt Willis
Hi Janet,

We recently started getting a similar error, which we discovered was related to
a patched version of the MidTier.jar file. After installing a new MidTier.jar,
we started getting the error. Since we are on 7.0.0, and the file was based on
7.0.1 code, this produced a conflict, and we started getting the null pointer
exception.

Have you recently installed any patches, or copied any updated java files into
your system?

Regards,
Matt Willis

Mid-Tier 7.0.01

2007-03-05 Thread remedy
Hello,
I am haveing trouble running AR System type reports on the web.
I am getting ARERR 9217 which has to do with a file not present or the url is
bad.

I know the file is in the report form, cause I created it using the report
creator form, and checked for the file attachment.

This is a new setup and I am hoping to go live tomorrow if I can get this
resolved.

Thanks

7.0.1 midtier p1 applied; can't access config page

2007-03-05 Thread Rick Phillips
Hello,

I recently patched MidTier 7.0.1 with p1, and I can't access the
midtier config page. Instead of the standard midtier login, I'm being
challenged for a network login and pw (all of this is taking place on
my dev. laptop). I hadn't checked this after the upgrade to MT 7.0.1,
so don't know if it's related to the patch or not. Can anyone tell me
where my perms are off?

Thanks,

Re: Parsing Comma Delimitted Records

2007-03-05 Thread Carey Matthew Black

Chris,

Although I think Axton's would likely perform better and be more
maintainable in the long run too. Another option could be similar to
Axton's idea... but...

Build a DB join of the current form and the "other form" using the
"IN" operator at the DB level. Then the Table field qual could be
"static" and based only on the current records 'Request ID' value.

The DB join would be something like...

Select a.C1, a.C2, (etc) from T123 a, T345 b where b.C4 IN a.C1234567

Where:
A = your current form
B= a form with one record per value in the field in question
C4= the value in form B that holds the individual values in the
list of values in form A's field C1234567.

Just a thought.

you can create a table field that points to something the data can

then walk that table to create the records.

For example, if your field contains companies, you may have a value like this:

BMC,HP,Sun

If you have a company table, point a table field at it, then convert
that list to an external qual using the replace function:

'Company' = "BMC" OR 'Company' = "HP" OR 'Company' = "Sun"

Then you can walk the table with a filter or active link guide.

Re: ARS 6.3 Patch 21 FYI - Date field pop-up flaw

2007-03-05 Thread Christopher Michaud
Here's what I believe some reasonable solutions would have been...

1. Standardize all color settings to utilize Windows O/S property
settings. (good solution - however, Windows only)

2. Add Window Color Properties (not just background) to the Client
Options/Preference Server settings. (better solution -
platform/application independent)

This behavior was happening on our 6.3 unpatched client as well and was
reported as a Bug (or at least questionable behavior) on 3/2/06 (over a

Tried to send this last night. My apologies if it posts twice.

Leigh,
I'm not sure this is your problem but I experienced an issue with the date
pop-up and it had nothing to do with the ARSystem. I had changed Windows'
properties and the font color chosen by Remedy to display the Month Year
at the top of the date dialog was almost the same as that of the
background. It looked as if the text disappeared.

Unless you mean the dialog doesn't even show the individual days of the
month, then I'm barking up the wrong tree.

My company is live with it. To implement this we had to fix a lot of
bugs. We have gone live with issues that have yet to be resolved,
mostly minor. Of major concern is the overview console that isn't
working as designed.

I suspect what you're looking for is a list we've had to fix ourselves.
Its rather huge and intermixed with customizations that were required to
accommodate our business rules. I'm still in firefighting mode so that
list will have to wait. I'd be happy to answer specific questions if I
can. Also its important to note that we converted from ITSP to ITSM so
the upgrade path is vastly different.

Re: Notify a dynamic group of recipients

2007-03-05 Thread Carey Matthew Black

ARS Dummie from Germany, (Sorry that is the only name you gave us)

I would suggest that you consider this approach as an option.

Add a Join of User and some other form. Add a record to this new form
("dummy form") for each "Customer" you have in the "Customer" field on
the User form and Join on those values.

During a submit, do a Set field action that gets the right "Customer"
value. Then do a Push to the join for the correct Customer records.
Push as much data as you need to do the notifications to each User
entry. However I strongly suggest that you only push data to the
"dummy form" fields and do NOT change any field in the User form. It
is not a good idea to update the User form/data often during the day.
It can be a performance drag on your ARS server as it does "caching"
of some of that data. So build out the "Nofiy" action from the Join
form Modify workflow with fields from the "dummy form".

I think that should get the job done.

Depending on the submitter of this entry ther User form has to be searched

For example: User "Smith" is member of Group "ITS-Service" and his Customer
(it's a customized field in the User form) is "ACS", then all other users
who have the same Group and the same Customer as user "Smith" should be
notified.

So how can I get this list of recipients into the Notify action of my
filter.
This list/group of recipients is always different, depending on the user who
submits the entry. And it's NOT only the Group field in the user form that I
need for my qualification. It's also a customized field from the user form
that has to be part in this qualification.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance!

some special handling due to the packaging method). The old

I received some feedback that certain libraries were missing from the

I am trying to prefetch using the admin account to preclude having to
prefetch by group. With over a hundred groups in at least 60
organizational or functional company structures, and all of the various
ITSM 7 permission groups defined for each application (Incident,
Problem, Change, KMR, SLM, Foundations, etc.), the 300 support staff
accounts will have wildly different group membership combinations. In
light of how long it takes to prefetch and the load it places on the AR
server while doing it, I can only afford to prefetch ONCE on
reboot/service restart, and not for a list segmented into many different
multiple group patterns.

My company is live with it. To implement this we had to fix a lot of
bugs. We have gone live with issues that have yet to be resolved, mostly
minor. Of major concern is the overview console that isn't working as
designed.

Have you tried using the utility archgid? I've used it successfully - but to be
honest have never tried converting a non-reserved field to a reserved field
using this utility. The basic use of this utility is that you change the
underlying database ID of a field and this utility searches all related
workflow, table fields, menus, active links, filters, etc that reference this
field and reflects the change you have made with those related objects too..

Long time reader, first time poster.

I am new to being a remedy admin. The job was thrust upon me when the
old admin left. So my knowledge of the app is VERY limited.

Now we have the DST patch to deal with.

My environment is 6.03 patch 17
on a windows box
with an oracle backend.

My development environment is fried and will not be up for the
foreseeable future. (old admin did everything in live)

I have been told.. Just load it in live. (Good opportunity to learn ?)

My question for the list.. What if I just don't load it?

If I understand things correctly (limited view).
The effect would be that time frames over the time of change would be
off by an hour.

>From 11:00 PM on 3/10/07 to 4:00 AM 3/11/07 would be 4 hours.. not five.

The use of Remedy in my shop if very limited. Call tracking system,
limited escalations, no add ins. Reporting is based on volume, not time
of response.

Then what would the impact really be if I just don't load it ?

Thanks for the help with this. I have posed the question to support and
our account rep and have gotten no where.

Re: Radio button field - obtaining the Selection Value

2007-03-05 Thread Carey Matthew Black

Curt,

One idea...
Set up a hidden field that has alias values equal to the selection values.

OR...

I am sure you could poke around in the ARS meta tables and find a
mapping of an integer value ( which you could get by setting the
selection field into an integer field) into the Selection Value.

But I think if you have to create a temp field you might as well take
the first idea and skip the direct sql.

Re: Using Keywords in Report Form Base Qualification

2007-03-05 Thread Carey Matthew Black

Greg,

This is just a shot in the dark

try this:

('20003' = "Testing Tools" OR '20003' = "Remedy") AND '8'
=  "$\NULL$" AND  '7' <= "Pending"

OR (if the next one keeps the $NULL$ after saving the value try this form)

('20003' = "Testing Tools" OR '20003' = "Remedy") AND '8'
=  "$NULL$" AND  '7' <= "Pending"

We have noticed that in some contexts the ARS server deails with
$NULL$ differently than "$NULL$". Maybe this is another case where the
quotes are needed?

We currently use:
Solaris: 2.9
ARS server: 6.3 patch 2
RDBMS: Sybase (12.x)

Working with ARS 6.3 patch 20 and HD 6 on Solaris with remote Oracle 10gr2

I have run the following query on the Change Request Form:

('Category*' = "Testing Tools" OR 'Category*' =
"Remedy") AND 'ReleaseID' = $NULL$ AND 'Status*' <= "Pending"

and I get the expected results.

I now need to create a report with the same selection criteria. When I add
my report to the REPORT form and enter the above in the qualification it
doesn't work. The issue seems to be with the 'ReleaseID' = NULL check.

I tried using $\NULL$ and that just shows as "\NULL" and no records are
returned.

In the Report Form the Base Qualification shows as:

('20003' = "Testing Tools" OR '20003' = "Remedy") AND '8'
=  $\NULL$ AND  '7' <= "Pending"

When I pull up the report the qualification shows as:

('20003' = "Testing Tools" OR '20003' = "Remedy") AND '8'
=  "\NULL" AND  '7' <= "Pending"

If I manually select the qualification I need, it shows as:

('20003' = "Testing Tools" OR '20003' = "Remedy") AND '8'
=  $\NULL$ AND  '7' <= "Pending"

It appears that whenever I use a $ in the Report Form's Base Qualification
the $ is replace with a double quote(").

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Greg

Chris,

It's nice to know we're not alone!

It's just one additional reason to move our users to a web version. Now
that we are going to be using the more recent mid-tier this should be
much easier.

Subject: DST Patch - What if I don't load it?

I'm in a similar situation. We have Remedy ARS 6.03 patch 11, Helpdesk
4.03, and MidTier. We're about to start a big project to upgrade
everything to 7.x.

I've been told by our support that as long as our OS's and Java are up
to date, the only thing we have that will be broken is MidTier. In our
case we only have a handful of users that use MidTier, and since our
development environment is hosed right now, I'm not planning an update
and my fingers are crossed...

Tony,
you have more than 1 problem with DST -- from what I see here..

OS - windows needs the DST patch
Outlook - possible DST patch
Oracle - DST patch
Java - DST patch
Remedy Server - DST patch

Oracle DST patch is by far the most Brutal..
One of our DBA's spend 3 weeks coming up with a DOC for the fix.

Sorry for the bad news.

Crystal Report Error

2007-03-05 Thread Derek Fernandes

Hi listers,

We just moved to ARS 7.0.1 patch 1 but we are still using HelpDesk 4.03.
We have a couple of Crystal Reports that were working on ARS 6.3. Now,
when we push the button to print the report we get the following error:

An error occurred while generating the Crystal report: 0x80047e48 -
Logon failed. (ARERR 1904)

I have installed the latest version of the User Tool and checked the
active link that generates the report, and made sure on the Report
Information tab:

Report Type = Crystal
Location = Embedded
Name = \\reportname.rpt
Destination = Printer

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This behavior was happening on our 6.3 unpatched client as well and was

Thanks for the information. I did get two emails about an hour ago.

You?re absolutely right about it being a problems with the Windows

look very, very closely I CAN see some writing white on nearly white. I?ll
play around with the colors to see if I can make it darker.

Leigh,
I'm not sure this is your problem but I experienced an issue with the date
pop-up and it had nothing to do with the ARSystem. I had changed Windows'
properties and the font color chosen by Remedy to display the Month Year

Tomcat/Mid-Tier webService issue

2007-03-05 Thread Barnhill, Jason (Jason)
Hello all,

I have 2 mid-tier setups pointing to 2 Remedy ARS servers all on Solaris
9:

Tomcat 5.5.7 with Java 1.5.0_11 with mid-tier 6.03 p14 and mid-tier 7.01
p1
webLogic 8.1 with java 1.4.2_04 with mid-tier 6.03

Remedy 6.03 p17
Remedy 7.01 p1

I am working with a small test script to connect to a webService to
perform an OpCreate action on each Remedy server. It's the same form
and webService on each server. Using various combinations of
webserver/mid-tier and Remedy server gives different results.

webLogic 8.1/mid-tier 6.03 to Remedy 6.03 or Remedy 7.01 succeeds.
Tomcat 5.5.7/mid-tier 7.01 to Remedy 7.01 succeeds.
Tomcat 5.5.7/mid-tier 6.03 to Remedy 6.03 or Remedy 7.01 fails.

Because this succeeds in some instances and not others, I don't believe
it could be the webService or the form, even though I get an error
indicating that Required Field cannot be set to NULL. It's a basic form
with only the core fields, and I *am* setting them all. And again,
since it works in some combos but not others, I don't think it could
really be a required field is null issue...

Our goal is to upgrade to mid-tier 7.01 p1 and Remedy 7.01 p1 and since
this DOES seem to work in that scenario, this might be ok. But I'd
really like to know what's wrong in the other scenarios, in case I do
see these issues after upgrading production.

Tomcat is our production webserver, that's what I need to have working.
The fact that this works in webLogic and not in Tomcat leads me to
believe that it may be a Java issue, but my Java is weak. So any help
would be appreciated...

In the failure instances, I receive different errors. Since these are
from 2 different versions of mid-tier, I don't know if it's really the
same error, worded differently, or if it's 2 distinctly different
errors...

My best guess is that this is related to all the various daylight
savings patches that have been loaded, though if I point Tomcat to older
1.5 versions of Java I still get these errors. A friend helped me
enable Tomcat/Axis logging, but the logs didn't show any more than the
errors returned to the script...

mid-tier 6.03 returns:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException:
java.lang.NullPointerException
   at
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapCl
ie
ntMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean

String Class_Name, String Object_Name, String ShortDescription,
StatusType Status, String Submitter)
   at lawson_ws_test.Program.Main(String[] args)

and mid-tier 7.01 returns:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException:
MessageType: 2
MessageNum: 326
MessageText: Required field cannot be reset to a NULL value
AppendedText: InputDoc
   at
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapCl
ie
ntMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean
asyncCall)

String Class_Name, String Object_Name, String ShortDescription,
StatusType Status, String Submitter)
   at lawson_ws_test.Program.Main(String[] args)

I know this is a long winded question. Thanks for reading this far, and
for any help you can offer!

Re: Parsing Comma Delimitted Records

2007-03-05 Thread Axton

you can create a table field that points to something the data can
reference, then turn that comma separated list into an external qual,
then walk that table to create the records.

Re: Notify a dynamic group of recipients

2007-03-05 Thread Rem Valenzuela
I'm not sure I know what it is you want to do, but we send notifications to
pre-defined groups via a secondary form that we have a multi line character
field, each line has a different email address, we do a query to the form and
set the value of the multi-line character field as the address for the
notification. To make it dynamic, you may be able to do a series of set
fields actions to add addresses to a character field, then add the value of the
character field to the address of the notification.

Hope that helps point you in the right direction.

You will need to use STRSTR to determine where the comma is and then use substr
0, STRSTR value to parse out the first field. Next you will ne to use the comma
values to do a new substr to remove that entry. continue until STRSTR reports
back a zero.

Re: Change field id on a form

2007-03-05 Thread Mike White
If you need to re-use the same field name, you may want to rename the
current field first. I'd check all workflow references, including Table
Field columns names, and any Views).

Add your new Field ID 112.

Assuming that you used valid Group Names in your former/old field, you can
run an Escalation to populate the new field. Then go through all workflow,
changing reference to new field (be careful - FID 112 may return Group ID,
not the clear-text Group Name). Once your workflow's corrected, you should
be able to safely delete the old field.

Re: Notification of a 'dynamic' group of recipients

2007-03-05 Thread Shanmugadas, Suresh
I didn't get into the details of your exact problem but

One way could be, have a table field on the admin tabpage(which will be
used for processing and users should not see this). This table field
with info from the user/Group(from where you want to get the list) form
will have a qualification criteria of $USER$(so that it will list
specific info related to the logged in user).

2. Get the list of reciepients from the table field into a ztmpfield
field using an Activelink guide on the Admin page and add a return key
character at the end of each entry, by doing this in the ztmpfield field
each receipient will be in one separate line and Save this.

3. Now on this form when you are making the change that should trigger
your Notify Filter, just use this field as the Notifying field
$ztempfield$. The Notifications will goto all the entries in this
ztempfield which has one reciepient entry in one line.

I have done a similar thing and it works for me.

Suresh S

Re: Notification of a 'dynamic' group of recipients

2007-03-05 Thread Mike White
It sounds like you recognize that you can issue a Group notification, but
only to one Group.

If you try to assemble a recipients list via workflow, you may run into the
255-character "To" field limitation.

Customizing Group or User is risky. You may want to consider externalizing
it - separate form with valid login ids, using workflow to maintain sync.
(Don't use the reserved Field ID). You could include Group List and would
move Customer to it from User. Then you'd add a field to store your
notification text. Notification text field update could trigger Filter to
fire, which sends notification text to specified user (Login Name, or
whatever you called it on the separate form). In your application itself
(Filter that does the Notify), you'd push Notify text to all records where
Group List and Customer match.

who have the same Group and the same Customer as user "Smith" should be
notified.

So how can I get this list of recipients into the Notify action of my
filter.
This list/group of recipients is always different, depending on the user
who
submits the entry. And it's NOT only the Group field in the user form that
I
need for my qualification. It's also a customized field from the user form
that has to be part in this qualification.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance!
Kind regards from Germany,

Three weeks ago we moved our ARS install from OldServer to NewServer.
One of my users is now getting an error when she logs in that she can't
connect to OldServer. She gets this 3 times, and then gets logged in
without problems to NewServer.

I checked her 'Accounts', and she's only got NewServer there. She has
'NewServer' as the reports server, and she doesn't have a Central
Preferences record that might be pointing to OldServer. I checked in
ar.ini, and she had three references to docs on OldServer, but I deleted
these and she still gets the error. When I log in with my ID on her
machine, I also get the error.

Where else can I look for what's causing this?

John,

Thanks for the information. I did get two emails about an hour ago.

You're absolutely right about it being a problems with the Windows

laptop (usually I'm on a second monitor screen and don't have any
problem). If I look very, very closely I CAN see some writing white on
nearly white. I'll play around with the colors to see if I can make it
darker.

Many thanks,

Tried to send this last night. My apologies if it posts twice.

Leigh,

I'm not sure this is your problem but I experienced an issue with the
date pop-up and it had nothing to do with the ARSystem. I had changed
Windows' properties and the font color chosen by Remedy to display the
Month Year at the top of the date dialog was almost the same as that of
the background. It looked as if the text disappeared.

Unless you mean the dialog doesn't even show the individual days of the
month, then I'm barking up the wrong tree.

I've seen numerous listings for Patch 21 and the Mid-tier but none about

associated with a date field, there is NO MONTH displayed.

I've submitted a ticket with Column IT who provide my support (which BTW

I figured if there is a work around someone on this list will know or

Does anyone know of a correction? I am NEVER on the "bleeding edge" of

Hi list!

No, unfortunately you do not. TEST1 and test1 are interpreted as being
equivalent from the point of view of whatever procedure is looking for
associated preference servers. So if you log in as TEST1 on ServerA, and
then test1 (which should default to ServerB) ServerA shows up in the

Re: Workflow with dynamic fields to create Asset...

2007-03-05 Thread Carey Matthew Black

Brent,

Have you worked this out yet?

I have two options for you.

1) Pull the values via multiple set fields actions to the record your
trying to create

OR

2) Do the value via multiple push mappings after you do multiple set
fields actions to display only fields that map to the fields your
trying to create.

So for Option #1:

You have to figure out what type of record the "InstanceID" is going
to be. (maybe you actually know that from some other data you have?)
That type tells you where the data record needs to be created. So
dummy up a "TBD" ( "To Be Determined") format for that record then add
filters on that target form that will "pull" the TBD values from your
source form.

Now if you want to get real fancy with this idea, then you map your
field Names to field ID's and you use the Application-Copy-Field-Value
special process command while you are looping over a table field that
lists the fieldID and value strings.

It could be as simple as a few filters, maybe 3, in a filter guide
looping of a table field based on the "InstanceID" supplied in the TBD
record.

OR

Option #2:

Add all the field ID's from all of the target forms to your source
form as display only fields. Then based on the type of record that
your going to create, so set field actions to pull values from the
various other records in a similar manor as above and map the values
into the display only fields. Then for every target form create a push
action that maps all the right fields in the push.

Personally I really like option #1 over Option #2. It is just cleaner
in my view and you have less "type" logic to deal with.

HTH.

Hi Everyone,

I have run into a problem which I am sure there is a simple solution that I
am missing.

I have a form that contains only four fields. It has "Field Name", "Field
Value", "SchemaName", and "InstanceID". The form basically holds a listing
of fields that will make up an asset record.

With the InstanceID field, this allows me to load multiple assets into the
one form. The field names in the form are not always the same from asset to
asset. And because there can be multiple types of assets, this makes it a
lot harder to hardcode every field into one form.

My problem is how do I take a group of these records and push them out to
create a single asset.

With workflow, setting the value part is easy, however, how would I specify
the field name I am want to use. I can only select from the list menu of
the fields off the asset form, but I need to be able to plug a variable in
its place.

Anyone have any ideas on how I could accomplish this?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My plan is to get a duplicate of production up and running. Upgrade SQL 2000

Upgrade ARSystem to 6.03
Test. Test. Test...

I have taken a copy of my production server (database backup), moved it over
to development server and restored the ARSystem database. I have done this
several times with no issues.
After the restore is completed and run sp_changedbowner ARAdmin, true to
update the database to ARAdmin and then log in as normal..

I've completed these steps. The ARSystem Service is started as well the
portmapper.
I am not able to log in?

I get the following error when attempting to log in:

ARERR [90] Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System server :

 user: edunn, server: twlremdev01

I see the same message in the ARRERR log.

Any ideas or places to start looking at fro troubleshooting?

Yep..that sounds familiar. Sometime, I imagine when the server went

Everything looks good in the authentication department. I would like
to blame it on the firewall but I don't think that is the issue, the
email engine and ars are on the same physical server, and we can
communicate through the specified ports. Another server is the exact
same config but different patch and it works fine. Anyone had any
issue with getting the email engine stopped and started on solaris?
It seems like every now and then it wants to hang up or not shutdown
correctly.

Subject: Unable to license AR server development box

We experienced a problem where one of our development servers was hosed
after our server team unsuccessfully tried to upgrade the AIX server to
the latest version.

They were able to rebuild the server and we copied files and
configuration from our production server to the development server but
we are running into issues trying to reapply the Remedy licenses on the
server.

We get to the point that we fill out the AR Server license information
based on what BMC provided back to us and a pop up message indicating
"Remedy BMC hereby grants you the license..." yada yada yada...

However, after the pop up is closed and we go back into license
Add/Remove Licenses window and the license is gone.
On our server the arsystem.lic file does not get updated.

We receive no errors during this process so we cant determine what has
gone wrong.

Has anyone seen something like this before and has an idea what is
wrong? Remedy BMC is currently not providing much help since we have a
support contract issue with the server that we need to clear up first
before we get some real assistance with the issue.

Let me update this one more time..
I have manually added a group, and gave a form that permission.. nothing..
I even created a form with that group permissions and cannot see it..
Fields or Form ether ?

Should I just try an upgrade (Backwards to Patch 18 ?)

Re: Issue with ARF.Java

2007-03-05 Thread Carey Matthew Black

Jannie,

Turn on the plugin logs on the server. ( You may need to see the ARS
server start up to see what your after too.) Any clues from that log?

You were not specific about how you did the upgrade.
Did your upgrade remove the line from the ar.conf file that loads the plugin?
Did the plugin binary not get copied to the new ARS server install dir?

Tried to send this last night. My apologies if it posts twice.

Leigh,
I'm not sure this is your problem but I experienced an issue with the
date pop-up and it had nothing to do with the ARSystem. I had changed
Windows' properties and the font color chosen by Remedy to display the
Month Year at the top of the date dialog was almost the same as that of
the background. It looked as if the text disappeared.

Unless you mean the dialog doesn't even show the individual days of the
month, then I'm barking up the wrong tree.

I figured if there is a work around someone on this list will know or

2007-03-05 Thread David Durling

Hi Kyle -

Slightly different platform here (6.0.1 patch 1351, Solaris 9, Oracle
9iR2), not sure if it's the same problem - our server would quit polling
for mail, not sure if it affected outgoing mail - seems like the we had
to manually kill the email process to fix things (long time back,
details are fuzzy). Anyway, our sys admin set up something to kill the
email process every 15 minutes & let armonitor restart it, and we've
been working with that for a long time now -

Everything looks good in the authentication department. I would like to
blame it on the firewall but I don't think that is the issue, the email
engine and ars are on the same physical server, and we can communicate
through the specified ports. Another server is the exact same config
but different patch and it works fine. Anyone had any issue with
getting the email engine stopped and started on solaris? It seems like
