I have a 2620 set up to recieve incoming ppp dialin sessions and assign both
IP and chap authentication locally. This all works fine and I have to fill
in the windows dialin screen with relevent username and password and then
the post dialin terminal screen also.
I took some hi-tech hardware through a 3rd world country and after
convincing them that the gear would leave when i did ( 6 weeks time
period ), they noted the serial numbers on my passport and let me on my way.

network on the other side of a router. If they will have the same IP
address but a new nic they won't work until the arp entry ages out or you
clear the arp cache.

If the router receives any BECNs during the current time interval, it
decreases the transmit rate by 25%. The rate will continue to drop with each
BECN (limit one drop per time interval) until the traffic rate gets to the

a frame relay switch sends a FECN to the destination dte and a BECN to the
source dte when it encounters congestion somwhere un the switching path.

I am aware of what loopback mode is, but I am now getting into further
in-depth studies of routing protocols ( specifically EIGRP & OSPF) & it
appears (from the screen shots in books) that loopback can be used to
introduce a network... maybe one that isn't advertised.

is adjust the manner in which your IP traffic negotiates moving from fast
links to slower links (LAN to WAN etc). This is where the bandwidth command

but rebadged and a bit added for CCNA 2.0 wherever I see it it is always

Can someone confirm for me. The highlighted line below will force EIGRP to
advertise 10.18.0.0 instead of 10.18.11.0. Is this correct ? Is there
anything else I need to worry about ? Thanks in advance.

The simplest way I have found is to either telnet or console into the
first router, then do a sh config. Highlight the entire config and copy
it to notepad or word processor, make the changes and then copy it to
your 2nd router while in the config t mode. I also use this method to
save my config
the easy way
type show run in the router A,
copy all the output to notepad
go to the other router
type a write erase (all the config will be lost, you must be at the console
port :) )
reboot the router B
once it has booted, tipe 'n' to skip the auto-setup
go to config mode with "conf t"
cha

IGRP doesnot understand 0.0.0.0 network so it uses default-network command
instead.
default-gateway is used when u are not routing IP.
