Good Review
However one correction, you've mentioned that EIGRP is a link state routing
protocol, when it is a "hybrid" distance vector protocol.

Core routers do this all the time. They end up being ABRs and you need to

Apparently OSPF just treats loopbacks like this, EIGRP doesn't, therefore
the ospf route is always more specific when setting up lab exercises with

Hi guys / gals,
Here is an interesting problem that I am struggling with at present
Area 4 of my OSPF network is configured as NSSA and has 3 routers in it.
Router 1 is the ABR that connects to the backbone, Router 2 is the ASBR that
is redistributing some IGRP networks into area 4 and Router 3
This has happened to me before, where although the site has 32k, for some
reason the configured bandwith on the serial int was 3.2k (typo in config)
and thus the eigrp process forced itself to use 1.6k for all routing updates
and hellos. consequently adjanceys dropped despite the pvc remaining
operat

that this subnetting scheme, is unconventional, unadvisable and not

Before 12.04T, any subnet in the network defined in your eigrp "network"

Hi group!
I am a lurker at best here, but today I saw something that really
puzzled me. While I was looking at a trace file I noticed something
unusual about the ttl values for RIP updates on a PacketEngines switch.
This switch is connected to a Cat5000 and I had a sniffer in between the
two.
