I am a CCNP. Does anybody know if I need to become CCDA to become
CCDP or do I just need to take the CID exam? Also, is it better to pursue
the CCIE directly rather than take CCDP first? Are they many tangible
advantages in being CCDP?

Used Boson Test #1. It is Ok, but not as good as I hope to be (because many
people said that this is a good test preparation tool)

I am currently CCNP and taking CCIE Written in two weeks. I want to know if
doing CCDP will help in my career? I saw outlines for two exams that I have
to take in order to become CCDP after my CCNP; CCDA and CID, outlines looks
pretty familiar. Any idea how hard these exams are
Is the Caslow book a good resource for the CID exam? I have my CCNP and
plan to read the Caslow book for the CID exam. What sections that I am
not able to answer?

Yes you need the CCDA to become CCDP even though you are a CCNP.
Then take the CID to become a CCDP.
Whether it is nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of yet another 2 exams
before attempting the CCIE is a matter of personal taste I would argue.

Well, I just got back from the CID test. It was a doozie...the WAN

minutes to spare. Read Top-Down Network Design and the CID ciscopress
book. Used the online CID course on vstream and Boson test 1.

13:30 GMT. Hope this time goes better than last (need to find 7%). A
question to everyone, my director has agreed to let me go on a 2 week Lab
with a training company for the CCIE, although I reckon that's mar
Bruce's book is very good for its topic, but it is not
geared for the CID exam. The Sybex book is written for
the exam and for current design methodology. Cisco's
design book is also written with the course objectives
in mind. I'm personally biased to the Sybex text. ;)

Thats is not quite all that you have to do. In order to get onto the CCDP
exam track you have to be a CCNA and CCDA. From that point you must then
pass either the FRS or ACRC, CLSC, CMTD once you have done that then you
should take the CCDP. You cna verify this on Cisco's website:

narrowest of margins but I my transcript says I got "Module 7 Addressing
Security Issues" correct.

Here's how I got all the certs (in this order):
CCNA
CCDA
FRS
CIT
CID
That gave me the following certifications:
CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP

According to the Cisco training website CCDA is a prerequisite to the CCDP

inforamtion contained in the Cisco Press CID text very helpful. I also
followed this up with Cisco Press "Advanced IP Network Design". I know I
learned at least a little that will help with CCIE At the ver
CCDP involves some more intense study into SNA which could prove valuable
on the CCIE lab/written
Other than that, it could be an afterthought. However, prior to being
ready to perform your lab (CCDP is harder than CCIE written imho) you could
easily go and write your DP

Check with Cisco. If you got your CCNA, go to Cisco Career Certification
Tracking System. Click on Cert Progress. Click on CCDP. It will tell you
what test you had pass or need to pass for that cert.

You have actually covered all the material for this exam, so all you need now is
practice recalling it from the deepest and darkest regions of your brain. Just
get the Boson tests for CID, and continually drill from those questions and
review all your wrong answers from your reference mate
I think the questions in the exam where there is more than one correct
answer are there for a reason. In real life you often have many ways to
tackle a problem. All of them will work, however one of them is the most
correct (and hence best way). The exam simply reflects this.

Please note that under the new structure, Remote Access exam (640-605) will
no longer be a required exam for CCDP. Registration for the current 640-025
exam will end on May 27, 2003, and the existing Cisco Internetwork Design
(CID) course will end-of-life on April 28, 2003. For those candidates
I have a CCNA and CCNP yesterday I took the CID 640-025, will this do for
the old requierments for CCDP, or will I also have to take the CCDA ?

Well fellas I passed the CCDP recert today. Man what a messed up test. The
exam objectives on CCO(for all tests) are not what are on this exam. This
exam is basically version 1 Routing, Switching, Remote access and CID
version 1 from 3-4 years ago. I mean I did have some MLS but I had x25,
