I've set up a couple of 3620's for a PRI to PRI
connection utilising 8 channels. I am having problems
invoking more than 1 channel. i.e I would like a
second channel to come up say if the load on channel 1
reaches 75.

We are trying to set up an ISDN from China to US. In
order to lower the ISDN charge, we'll put a BDC and an
Exchange server locally. The concern is BDC to PDC and
exchange servers sync will make the ISDN line up all
the time. Any suggestions?

I had a Motorola BitSurf prior to and had no problem.
The SPID auto-detect detected the SPID and Switch type properly, but I still

searching high and low for a reasonably priced ISDN simulator, I am forced
to conclude there is no such beast. EBAY is a bust thus far, and the best
price I have found is for a Teltone (www.teltone.com) ISDN
office running 10.0/8 network. New Cisco 802 (1 etherent, one bri).
Two remote locations, each with an ISDN adapter card in the PC. Central
office and remote locations have Centrex-like service, so only 4 digits need

A company (alfa) needs to connect to a server inside my intra using an ISDN
connection (they do have a 1600)
I have a 1600 with 1 bri which is used to connect our net to a remote

I have just picked up something strange on my AS5300. Is this standard for
an Isdn connection with an MTU over 8000, it has a regular pattern which
suggests that it is standard to me. Any ideas? I thought fragmentation
should occur past this to 18024.

Hi Peter,
Looking at the show command, there is no layer 3 call. If your BRI interface gets assigned an IP address by the called router, then you won't be able to pin the BRI IP address until an ISDN call is made (and IP assigned).

The simline2 ISDN simulator has S/T interface types. The router the
individual was using to connect to his simulator had U interfaces.
This particular simulator will work without any additional hardware when
connected to a Cisco device with S/T interfaces (such as the 2503, 2504
nd check out on the cisco
site for any configs you can find.

I'm setting up my new Emutel Lite ISDN simulator and I'm this close to being
up (hold thumb and index finger very close together). Can anybody tell me

I support allot of customers with dedicated t1's and using isdn dialup
backup. I have had some customers that want to test the dialup backup
without taking the serial link down. I have noticed that on version 12.0 of
the IOS you can take the dial backup command off the interface and pin
ip route 1.2.3.0 255.255.255.0 dialer1
Ping the address of your route - e.g 1.2.3.4 for the above route. If
you've used a 'fake' address, the ping won't work, but it should bring up
the ISDN link anyway.
This is just basic routing stuff, so I assume it would work with 12.1.
