Sounds like your on the right track with reading material. I would pick up
a copy of Caslow's book - some of the material is a little dated, but the
frame relay section is one of the best I've read anywhere. In addition, if
you can find a good buy on TCP/IP vol II buy it. There is some good BGP
All that I have seen is everyone saying Bruce Caslow, CCIE practical
studies, Doyle Vol. 1, and Halabi.

I'd get an ISDN simulator, and something to use as a frame-relay switch
(2520, 2521, 2522, or 2523). Those would be my recommendations for what to
purchase next. After that, add a 2511 (or equiv for access-serv), and then

actually you can perform 802.1q but you must have IOS 12.2T series IOS. I
know that is one drawback because I have concerns for having a couple of

necessary ready the BluePrint and develop your skills (there are questions
that requires a knowledge one gets with practice). After this it would be

i agree with Jeff, try and get slightly newer kit if you can, or anything
that will at least run 12.2. Nothing wrong with the 4000 tho, if you are
using it as a FR switch.

I just wanted to let you know that I purchased the Boson Router Simulator
when I was preparing for my CCNP exams. Looking back, I feel it was

How was the written exam? Was it mostly protocols remembering, or was it
more of a CCNP level questions (configurations, troubleshootings, etc.)?
Would you say the exam was tougher than you anticipated (CCIE R&S level)?
