This is probably no help at all but I had the same issue a couple of
months ago.
I bought a 2 x phono plug to 3.5mm socket lead from ebay, when I
received it I found out the headphone socket was working again!
I hadn't made any changes in the meantime so it was a total mystery to
me.

I'm sure that would work, but I've got the machine hooked up to a set of
speakers through the phono/RCA jacks, so don't want to pull the thing
out each time and reconnect.
I'm sure there's simple config issue, if only I could get to the bottom
of it!

I've got 4 SB3s and for the first time tried listening by plugging in
headphones to the jack at the back of the unit. No sound is coming
out. I recalled (perhaps in earlier versions of SC?) there being an
enable/disable for headphones(?) but can't seem to find it after
trawling through all the
Suddenly while listening to music this morning, the sound went out on
both my Boom and Duet which were synchronized with the 7.3 upgrade
since yesterday.
I have rebooted the server computer and Squeezecenter appears to be
working normally (Vista SP1 with Windows firewall)
The display on both
I unplugged the Duet receiver and plugged it back in. I was then able
to start the music up.
I then tried the Boom. There was no sound until I unplugged it and
plugged it back in.
Although I now have then de-synced, at least I have music.
Any theories or fixes? Should I grab the latest
Make sure you don't have an obsolete syncoptions plugin - or for that
matter any obsolete plugins.

Hmmm, for a while all controller sound effects has been off, is there a
way to bring them back?
Charging, Navigation, Playback and Scroll *are* all checked under
Settings - Advanced - Sound Effects, and Volume is at max level... Any
suggestions?

SqueezeCenter is not audio player software, it is audio server software.
If you want to play something on your pc, use SoftSqueeze, which is a
Java-based software SB emulator. You can find it under Extras in your
SC menu (left side). Or you could try SqueezePlay, which emulates the
SB Controller.

I've never been able to get them to sync, using a variety of machines
over a number of years. They are close, but never spot-on. I don't

Mine was set at lowest quality sample rate conversion and medium
hardware acceleration. Maybe you could try adjusting some settings or

device. A good power supply, DAC, and output stage require board space,
and packing everything close together makes issues like internal EMI
noise much harder to deal with. The designer has much fewer components
to choose from

SB3-quality audio from a portable. So just let this requirement go,
and your choices start looking better.

The title pretty much says it all. I just upgraded to squeezecenter
from slimserver and now I am getting no sound from my squeezebox(v3).
Everything appears to be connecting properly including my computer with
my music on it and Rhapsody. I can see all the music and when I hit
play it appears
Check player volume. Check the preamp volume control (Settings -
Players - Audio - Preamp Volume Control should be 0).
Rewrite Xilinx, unplug, press and hold 1, replug.

I'd suggest checking that you don't have the volume turned down. Check
that the pre-amp attenuation isn't set in the audio tab for the player
in SC.
If it still isn't fixed then firstly try pulling the power on the SB,
holding + while plugging it back in and if that fails try a factory

Itunes, it connects to the stream, but there is no sound. I checked the
local SlimServer interface, and it says that a song is playing. Why

I called tech support. It turned out to need the xilinx reset. Someone
did suggest that (above) and in my haste I only noticed the factory
reset recommendation. Sorry 'bout that.

So most flexible would probably to have a mode where the SqueezeBox is
controlled by the computer like an Airport Express.
So just a software tool which re-directs Airtunes-Data-Stream to the

Is the Squeezebox volume turned down? Press volume up on the SB
