ges,
which are short and sent pretty quickly anyway.
The K2 certainly has a maximum length of 24 characters you can send at one
time. I have never checked if the K3 accepts a longer string. But again I
would have thought most contest exchanges, even CQs, could be accommodated
within 24 characters.
the main contest logging programs use it. (In fact I
think my program KComm, and possibly HRD, are the only ones that do.)

he latest version of Windows. Give me a thin client that can run
Firefox and I can do just about anything.
The only place I still need a real PC is in the shack, because for logging,
data modes and most other ham radio activities you still need real
applications and I can't see that changing.

Not for long overs. I move my feet about to much.

Perhaps it would be better to continue this thread in the forum
mentioned above, since it's a bit off-topic for this list?

Do you drink whisky, bourbon, vodka? Ice cube trays work quite well
for the small components (and the problem of not having ice to go in
your favorite tipple gives an extra incentive to get that K3 finished
quick!) Cheers! :)

x27;t sound the
same to me when monitored on-air. I've monitored the transmission
using both the K2 (which isn't really a good tool for this since its
opposite sideband responses aren't identical either) and the FT-817
which has a fairly wide standard SSB filter and sounds the same on
ave a perfectly good K2.
And at this point I wonder why I need a hobby pursued by people who
can think of nothing better than hurl insults at others who express
opinions they just don't agree with.
I'm out of here, too.

waiting. It's human nature. These shipping discussions are only going
to be replaced by technical ones when more people have actual K3s to
discuss and fewer people are kicking their heels waiting for them.
You'll just have to get used to it.

never had any reports of the display being garbage, and if the data
itself was corrupted the program would probably misbehave or crash.

ack full of other radios, are not
planning on going anywhere and are in good health and not
significantly past retirement age. But that still leaves a lot of
others, I'll bet, who need at best a promise, but if not that an
*accurate* prediction of when their order will be met.

I tried this with PA3CW a couple of years ago and it was very
interesting seeing how my signal sounded over there, or comparing what
beacons he could hear at his QTH with what I was hearing from mine.
