OK. That feedback helps.
We are looking into the issue. Can you tell us what is your OS configuration?
If Vista, what flavor and do you have UAC on or off?

Hi All,
I am trying PowerSDR 1.14.0 with SDR-1000 w/RFE, 100 w PA, and ATU.
When trying to calibrate PA it fails (looks like high SWR) on bands 10 MHz
and above. 160 - 40 worked fine when calibrating.
Thanks,

Just a follow up. THis is with a clean install of PowerSDR 1.14.0, not a
database import.
I went into the PA screen and clicked reset to reset all band values then
recalibrated the PA successfully.

With the update of PowerSDR to 1.14.0, support for the 3Dfx Space
Navigator has gone AWOL again. I know it was never in the official
versions, but Ed W2RF kept putting out versions with that support
included; so far he doesn't seem to have produced a version of 1.14.0
with this feature added.
Hi all,
I followed the instructions for upgrading in order the Firewire device
driver 3.2.0.1556, the firmware 1.2.1.1556, and finally PowerSDR 1.14.0.
When I go to configure the sampling rate and buffer size in the
FLEX-5000 Firewire control panel, I select my favorite sample rate of
192kHz.
This new driver has some limitations regarding the buffer size when using
the Safe Mode settings. You cannot set the size below the recommend size.
This is often going to mean stepping up to the next value that is a power of
2. For 96kHz, this is going to mean 1024 samples and for 192kHz, 2048.
The earlier device driver reported a suggested minimum buffer size, but
allowed you to use a slightly smaller one to reduce latency, with the
documentation saying The Minimum Buffer Size shown in Figure 13 is not an
absolute value, but rather an estimate. It is perfectly reasonable to select a

Bearing in mind that the new architecture will no doubt make the idea of
loadable modules easier, you've hit on the peril of forking.. You can have a
nifty new function, but if you implement it on a fork, there's no simple way to
merge the changes back into the mainline, unless you've been
My mistake. I just tried this with 192K sampling rate and you are limited to
the minimum recommended buffer size, which means you do have to increase the
buffer up to the next highest power of 2.
My testing was with 96K and I didn't encounter this problem since I use a 1024K
buffer. My bad.
This may indeed be a possibility and we are exploring it. It may be that we
eventually incorporate all of the necessary functions from the Control Panel
(namely Sample Rate, Buffer Size, and Operation Mode) into PowerSDR to
simply the setup.
One step at a time though. We felt that it was

This sounds like a chipset driver or a BIOS issue. Have you updated either
lately? I usually get the chipset drivers for the chipset manufacturer rather
than getting them from the motherboard manufacturer.

The other thing I recommend is never (NEVER) use the drivers offered
by Microsoft in the Windows Update process. Always go to the
manufacturer.

Once you have opened the new FireWire driver 3.2.0.1556 you will notice
