Back in the day when that machine was selling, the option for taper was to use the side following method. The next solution was to buy the model 1000 with all metal gears, tilting table and the rest of the parts that make the legacy style of woodworking easier. It would not be for me either.

My design has a 1/2" threaded hole in the center, so I'm sure there is something that can be done. Mike owns a woodchuck which my design may not work on. I don't have any numbers on the woodchuck models to know if a rotary table designed for the aluminum model would work. That goes as well
