Our school is considering order the Words Their Way: Word Study in Action 2012
word study workbooks. We have been using WTW for several years, photocopying
the sorts as needed. I am wondering if anyone is using the workbooks. It

temptation. It is a fair amount of work to do the reproduction and
organizing of the loose sheets. I am currently using the teacher books,
with tear-out masters. Since my kids are working at their own pace and are

We use the Words Their Way spelling stage/sort books, i.e. *Word Sorts for
Within Word Pattern Spellers*. They contain the sorts for the stage as
reproducibles. With that, we are able to be selective with our different
needs/levels within grade levels.

Over time, I have come to the conclusion that some people can spell
and some people just can't. I used to think it had a lot to do with
how much reading a person did, but I don't know anymore whether I
believe that. My son (35 years old) is an avid reader and

classroom. One of the assessments is very similar to the NC K-2 Primary
Literacy assessment. (It might be identical, but I haven't taken the time to

Are you sure that the Houghton Mifflin has a Words Their Way component?
Maybe our district has an old verison, but I thought ours had word work based

Pat Cunninghams making words. Doesn't McGraw Hill have the WTW component? Can

Words Their Way is a spelling program. It is developmental. The
spelling inventory is a list of words, starting w/ simple CVC words,
and moving on up to words w/ derivational endings (conversation, etc).
