interactive mode,in the part where you mount or unmount local drives.

Star Office is a resource hog. I gave up on running it on my laptop
which only has 80MB RAM. Why not tell him to ditch SO and try Word
Perfect for word processing and maybe some GNOME stuff (Gnumeric etc. )

to hate me and are always breaking. I think that there are two things we
need to get rid of (in the USA); floppy drives and pennies. Both are

Is it feasable to go into windows and save them as a plain text or ASCII
text file? If that's not a problem almopt any Linux prog wil read it. If
not Star office and Word Perfect read most word files. I'm not sure
about Wordpad though.

Konqueror works for me. You can view directories, click on a file and
view it, with the option to edit it with either K Word, Text Editor, or
Advanced Editor. You can also right click and use open with if those
won't do the trick.
