Whats the setup to get Grip to rip CDs to MP3?
At the moment I've got the encoding setup to oggenc because all the others

For mp3encode for example I've got the following settings

First of all, I would like to thank you for all the time you spend to
help me.
Then the libghttp1-devel was required in order to rebuilt the rpm.
Therefore, I installed all gnome libs and the window-manager.
Then, the reinstallation of the rpm seemed to be successfull. But the
problem remains.

The first version I installed was 3.0.1, rpm intalled by MK 9.0 cd rom.
The rpm I use to upadate grip yesterday grip-3.0.3-1.i386.rpm.
Should I have intalled the grip-3.0.3-1.src.rpm one ?

Well , by virtue of the fact that I definately got a perfectly good help
file manual with mine , yes.
Do you know how to do an src.rpm compile ?
if not, simple enough,
just ownload the src.rpm file and put it
in a directory all on it's own,
I like to create a new directory,
mkdir /pk
then ,
I just finnish from dowloading the .src.rpmp and I've rebuilt the rpm,
installing some gnome library which were needed. Unfortunatly, Any links
in the grip help menu is working (grrr).
What could I do ???
Do I need to use gnome? (I'm currently under window maker)

Which information do you mean.
If you mean the name of the track, and performer, then log on
to the net with something like kppp .
click the tab in gript to let it compare your
CD
Now that is odd, are we talking Mandrake 9.0 standard install version,
gripv3.0.0, because I have a superb manual on mine, a shining example
of how good manual are constructed, only slight criticism I might have
is that perhaps there were a few definitions missing, particularly
technical terms

that is really weird! I've done four installs of

different. I did a recommended install on my

I'm not sure of the exact numbers as far as size/bit
rate
I did an expert install of 8.0 and grip was setup to
make mp3's using bladeenc
I immediately changed it to make .oggs cause they
sound better and are about the same size as mp3's.
Xmms should play .oggs by the way. There is an
xmms-ogg-vorbis package on the cd's that you can
install to make it
I solved the problem with grip (version 2.9) - it was only recording 3/4
of the song and then quitting. It was using "cdda2wav" for the rip and
"lame" for the mp3 encoding - I changed the configuration of grip to use
"bladeenc", instead of "lame" (had to install bladeenc first); now it
