I've noticed that at least the new 750 NH is fairly easy to miss the 1-2 up shift. But most bikes I've ridden are hard on a 1-2 shift when you stretch out 1st gear. You have to do it quick before the engine winds down, or keep a little throttle on it to help the gears mesh. Sent via BlackBerry b

By "hard" I mean turning over slowly or taking more than one quick try, especially when cold. I solved a LOT of problems when I put a new battery in mine. Hot turn signal cutting out, hard starting, poor running cold, wildly hunting idle once warmed... It's amazing how much difference that battery
