It's a Mitsumi optical wheel mouse. I never bought a mouse before (hard to

I've heard nothing but good things about this lens from the viewpoint of
*ahem* (insert other camera brand name here) users.
They claim that they would use this lens if they couldn't afford/attain the
L glass that the (insert other camera brand name here) pros use.
It's apparently sharp
Since the first report I've been doing a little research.
By far the most common reports of banding, in several
makes of camera, come from people using the cheap MagicStor
2.2GB microdrives (which are also battery killers, and
somewhat prone to burnout).
So it looks like an electronic issue;
Just posted on the Adobe DNG forum:
Adobe will release the DNG 2.4 converter at the same
time as the final release of the Camera Raw 2.4 plug-in.
No announced schedule yet, but it will probably be
sometime before the public beta expires (end of Feb).
