I have searched the mailing list archives and the FAQ but could not
find anything appropriate.
We are running qmail on RH linux 5.1 with win94 and MS outlook 98.
I wish to set up a local email address e.g. [EMAIL PROTECTED]
where use
seven days does seem a long time
before you are notified of a problem.

No this is not an issue. Qmail bounces the mail later but the check quits
because qmail doesnt send an error to it. ORBS for example checks the whole
thing (if the mail bounces or not)

Hello, I installed svscan, as instructed for best performance with qmail,
and then i started qmail using csh because svscan did not start it in
enough time. now i have this message in my /var/log/messages file:

Besides, the message is talking about respawning too fast... it is still

Better you read the abuse net's FAQ for the test. Qmail is discarding it
later, so relay checkers like the one from ORBS that check wether the mail
gets really delivered won't put you on the Open Relay List. Abuse.net's
checker doesn't do this.

i've gat a qmail-system with vpopmail, using the qmail-pop3d as popper.
my problem is, that the number of messages in my cur grew up to 23240
and now i cant get them anymore, the pop3d gives out an error like cant
change to $Home/Maildir..

I think I've made it all like the man of qreceipt tells. So if I
understood it right, I only need to add the line "| qreceipt " in
.qmail and/or .qmail-default. I made this step and doesn't get a "return
receipt" to the mail which I've sent to the test user.

When I installed qmail, I ended up installing some of qmail in /var.
Any outbound mail goes to the qmail queue on:
/var/qmail/queue/mess. There are 200 subdirectories under mess
starting with 0 and working its way up to 199.
