back at pop explosion time i invited questions

you know, what *really* surprised me about the new sloan LP
wasn't the fact that there's *three* covers on it, or that
one of them is by the MC5. what took me totally by surprise
are those magnificent covers of she's called nova scotia
by rita macneil and heaven by the dashboard light by
so last night's planned broken girl gig
(opening for bob wiseman @ wormwood's theatre)
did not happen -- i guess the van or whatever
broke down on the way to halifax. so bob
played for two and a half hours straight.
no joke. i'd post a review but it would go on

exist? I seem to remember seeing one at Edgefest...
the 7 single was on sub pop,
and it was called _cut_.
it contained versions of promise and 3 days
that were recorded in boston @ fort apache.
i am not yet fully recovered from last night's
all-ages gig in truro at, yes, the lion's club.
among the bands playing were the motes, state
champs, and preppy relatives.
this was the motes' final show -- they are
moving to BC and may stay there for a few months
before they come back. it
well, there weren't a lot of people at birdland
tonight; everyone's recovering from the hpxIII,
but heather jim i dropped in to see sanisoft
open for a couple of other bands, and they did not
disappoint. they've done a little re-arranging
and the mix was better and so they put on an even
