I have a problematic DAC that mutes on silence, which means that it
often clips the beginnings of tracks.
It maintains a lock for about 5 seconds after a track is paused, so
track transitions aren't a problem for the most part, however, starting
an album from standby often results in lost
I had the same problem with 7.6.1 - scanning after upgrading failed. Art
covers around 70% and server crashed. I have over 12000 music files and
1500 covers. I downgraded to 7.5.4 and it was OK.
- I checked all the cover jpgs - they are all non-progressive.
- I hidden several folders (with .),
After having Duets for a few years, I finally upgraded to the Touchs (I
have 2). Much easier set-up and less infuriating when something goes
wrong. If the connection was lost, it would they would always readily
connect.
Except now.
Now, the Touchs want to upgrade everytime they are turned on. Not

Are you trying to connect them to SBS on a computer?
If running on a PC or Mac go to SBS Remote Control Diagnostics,
what is reported for ALL pings, ports, IP's?
Trued disabling your anti virus firewall? Reboot the entire network
including players?
On the Touch go to My Music, does it
Yes trying to connect to SBS on the PC (as I have done for years - and
the past 4 months with the Touchs.
In Diagnostics, all Pings, Ports and IP Server addresses are OK for
both SBS and mysqueezebox.
Cant imagine it is the anti-virus nor firewall as they both have been
operating successfully

Hi,
I was hoping you could offer a little advice before I set off and
purchase a basketful of parts.
I am in the process of starting a kitchen/dining room re-design and
looking to use a squeezebox touch to stream audio into this new room,

If walls are open, always add Ethernet cable back to router if easy. A5
probably too big but a2 would work. I have both. I use good quality
ceiling speakers in my kitchen. Lots of tiny amp choices you can hide
with auto on/off.

System 1: Vortexbox Appliance (1.5) SbS 7.5.4
That's the Windows 7 firewall; you need to add a permanent exception
(look in Control Panel - google shouldk be able to find ther exact
instructions).
Any reason you're goign through your SB Server rather than simply using
mySB.com (which finally seems stable)? Is your radio station available
Hi there,
I am a very satisfied QB user.
Quite often I use the random mode to play one or several of my Genres.
Well it appears (and that is just a feeling) that some of the songs
with the spezified genre are played more (e.g. the first song of the
album?) and others are not played at all.
Is
Both Players are apparently connected to mysqueezebox.com
Are your mysb.com login entered into your SBS settings ? (there is a
tab for that )
Wich server version ? usually you can fetch the players from
mysqueezebox.com within SBS they should appear in the player tab as on
mysqueezebox.com .

Have you rebooted the router in a while ?
My guess is, this is it. Reboot everything in your network. Then reboot
the SBS machine and the Touch(s), and try again.
I have spent many hours troubleshooting my SB system, only to find that
the solution was to power cycle a

I filled in mysqueezebox.com account info and one of the Touches
appeared. It asked if I wanted to change it from mysqueezebox to this
server. Answered yes and nothing happened. So changed it back, it
redirected to mysqueezebox. Hit the back button on the browser and -
the Touch was no longer
Yeah, if the SBS Diagnostics report all as OK it is probably not anti
virus or firewall, but it's a good starting point to check.
Try this: Touch My Music Switch Library, see if your SBS server
shows up in there.
Beyond that I can only concur with trying a reboot.

It certainly won't sound any worse :-).
I own an E11 amp and I'm really happy with it. It is very quiet and
has some good oomph to it. The headphone out on the SB3 was noisy
which I know from experience. I never tried the headphone out on the
Touch, but I suspect it won't be as quiet as the

Noise isn't a problem with the Touch's headphone output IME. But
compared to the Grado, the headphone out on the Touch is anemic and
fatiguing, which makes sense as it's probably
Hi, I have an SB2 running on SB server (current version) as well as a
Controller. The SB2 is wired ethernet whereas the Touch will run
wirelessly. Any special advise on how best to set this up?
Specific Qs:
1. Is it best to use a static IP address for the touch? The SB2 is set
up this way.
2.

I'll second the suggestion to wire ethernet if you can. We recently
re-did our kitchen, and I have 5 CAT5 drops now in the kitchen (one for
our phone, as that is where we have our wireless phone

Two things to consider if you're thinking about self-amplified speakers
are (1) getting power to the speaker(s), and (2) running the line-level
cable from the Touch to the speaker. Neither are rocket science, but
they're easy to underappreciate. For the power, you just need to look
good about
