Which server are you using? On regular SBS you can already do it with
peterw's plugin. On TinySBS there is iPeng, and possibly a future
update of peterw's work. On mysb.com there's nothing, and pretty
unlikely there will be in the near future, or possibly eve

u may want to look at the Sheevaplug, especially
if you already have a USB drive that you will use for your music
library. It's inexpensive, powerful enough, demands little electricity,
and is well-supported by the community. Another good option to look at
is the Vortexbox Applianc
specs vs performance. ;)
You're probably right about the low price implying low specs, but it
could also be priced low because it appears to be a discontinued model.
All they had on the LaCie site was 1TB models and larger.

The CLI is a function of the server, not the player. If you mean is the
CLI the same for the regular Squeezebox Server and the Touch's built-in

I agree with John's statement about your current mini-itx having a lot
more processing power than the Touch. Re SBS versions, you need SBS
7.5.0 or higher for the Touch. And it's written in Perl, just like
7.3.3.
Not seeing the problem here. Is it possible that the SB is sync'd to
another SB on which the crossfade is switched on?

It's still a beta, but a lot of users report it to be better than 7.5.0
because it fixes many of the bugs in 7.5.1. I suggest deciding for
yourself based on (1) are you having problems with bugs in 7.5.0, and
(2) are they fixed in 7.5.1 beta.

has bugs and will be constantly changing until it is released. The
official release of 7.6 will be the usual: when they think it's ready.
If the feature to which they refer is indeed SQLite, then no, because
with 7.5.0 the Touch's internal server is already using SQLite (with no
MySQL option). Presumably there will be other features/fixes in 7.6 that
will affect TinySC/TinySBS.

available in the Touch's built-in server (aka TinySBS). TinySBS is
quite likely capable of doing it, but there is no user interface for
setting it at present.

I've had no problems with the Touch keeping time, unlike the Radio
which for a while wasn't re-sync'ing with the server, and was losing ~1
minute/week on its internal cloc
The username is root and the password is 1234. Btw, this is explained on
the Touch's screen when you enable remote login (ssh). But it's easy to
forget if you enable login one day and then don't login for several
days. If you ever forget, just disable login and then re-enable i
AS is running Linux, you need to set symbolic links on
the NAS -- you can't do it via Windows shortcuts on another computer on
the network.

I had forgotten about that. That's basically the same functionality as
SDT on an SB Controller. Greg did a beta SDT screensaver, with forecast
info in a very small font that bounced around the Touch's screen. It may
still be in his testing repository.
aying correctly on the Touch, and provide more specific
details than -"shows multiple albums, different artwork, etc."-. From
there it should be easier to troubleshoot your problem.

rather, it's a customized distro that the SD/Logi team worked up.

can't tolerate using SBS or doing this basic scanning as described,

I don't have my Touch nearby to confirm, but as I recall dave77's
description is correct. And then after turning off the other player via
the "Turn off [player name]" on the Home menu, you can return to
controlling the Touch or any other player via the Choose Player menu
