Re: (313) DJ Shine (Jason Spanu) - Toronto?
I've heard of him. He appeared/spun on this TV dance music programme in Montreal called Bouge. Also djing on the same programme was DJ T-1000 and Christian Smith. Shine's a pretty good DJ on that Techno-House tip. On the show he said that he participated in DJ workshop, teaching people how to spin. He said that spinning is a all about problem solving. If you can problem solve then you can easily learn to spin. He also talked about releasing an album or compilation like you said. This show took place Dec. 2001 so it should've been way out already. Bouge is a darn good programme. I wish they had shows like this in America. g. Re: (313) Hip Hop and Techno (was 8-Mile)
I will have to agree with robin here and I'm from the US. I read this article in an old DJ Magazine that talked about The Summer of Love and there was a part where someone would say (I'm paraphrasing here) you gonna rave? or have you raved yet? which meant taking a hit of e and going to a party and rave like mad. Indeed the Acid House and Rave are one of the same. \ I suggest doing some research at the mag's website. robin pinning wrote: The rave scene started over there, as their answer to our Hip-Hop scene. don't think that is truethe rave scene developed out of the northern soul scene (from what i've read)...original rave music was acid house (the other key ingredient to raves was the rapid take up of ecstacy at the same time) I don't agree that the Acid House Scene was the Rave Scene. I think it was definetly proto-rave, but I don't feel RAVE happened until after the Acid House Raids in 1989, and 1/2 the promoters went underground into the warehouses. That is when the culture grew, and it wasn't just a random occurence of club-rebellion. hmmm we'll agree to disagree... :) rave was defo happening around 88's summer of love (see the national newspaper headlines!!), this was quite a bit before hardcore happened which was 89/90 - Hence all the dancehall and street influences in the original Rave Music: Hardcore. that came later... nah, Hardcore started in 1987, with Lennie de Ice's We Are I.E., and the early SUAD releases. SUAD started in 1989 (i have a few of their releases, froma round the time) and i'm failry sure we are ie came out in 89 too (what a tune btw) cheers robin...

I don't dance and I doubt I ever will; perhaps it's childhood trauma or an ill formed sense of self - whatever. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the music nor does it mean I have to be saddled with restructuring a performative context or bumming out a DJ. It would seem like the fact that I haven't left the venue should say something. In an age where all kinds of criticism (literary, etc.) has freed art from static notions tied with the artist, I find it interesting that the monolithic notion of must-dancing still rules. I do understand the need for it and I understand how it creates a necessary symbiosis - but why does *everyone* need to be dancing in order for them to enjoy and appreciate something? We aren't all dancers, we aren't all as comfortable with dancing as each other. As a qualifier, I am not saying that any behavior or reaction to art is equally appropriate, nor am I saying there is no tie between art and artist. I just find it a bit tyrannical and quixotic to dictate behavior to a set. Again, my comments are not directed to this particular post (as I can see the connection you are making vis a vis the trend), but rather towards the notion that seems to underlie it : if I don't dance, I am unappreciative and some kind of pariah. If it's really about the music OR the mix, then I should be left to appreciate it in a way which is genuine to myself and doesn't shipwreck someone else's enjoyment. .02. jeff At 08:09 AM 11/4/2002, Toby Frith wrote: This is somewhat of a double-edged sword I think. In one respect, people go to see a DJ like Mills so they can dance. In the other respect, they go to watch his craft, which then takes the DJ out of his normal context and into that of an artist, because you are viewing him/her rather than interacting. (another argument which I'm not going to pontificate on here) So you get one half of the audience dancing and the other just watching. This has been, IMHO, the downfall of techno turntablism and the like in recent years. Too much watching, not enough dancing. I went to see Mills in Zurich a year ago and there was far too much of the latter going on. You could see him actually looking rather annoyed as one absolute classic after another (Final Frontier, Magnese) was being dropped only to see a leaden-footed and mute reaction from the crowd. they're worth that but they actually care. Unquote-- What I see happen alot and it kills me, is how these people be sleeping on it and time go by, then they complain they're not where they want to be and lay the blame on other factors. I can not tell you how much of that I see going on and the real fact is that they're a bunch of lazy wankers trying to perpetrate. So think of all the djs you feel deserve a chance and figure out how many are doing absolutely everything that needs to be done to hang with the big boys, and most importantly developing the right mental attitude or 'awareness' to obtain that chance. I doubt there are many. I have to give TP alot of credit because here's a guy, with a career lasting over 20 years, CHOOSING to retire. Being able to have that freedom to choose is admirable. And the reason for his retirement is not because of some young talent making him feel obsolete either. He's just a man with nothing to lose, but with much to gain and I wish him the best of luck in this new phase of his life. Re: [313] Austin, Pittsburgh and Detroit
I kinda agree with what the article says about Detroit. Especially where it notes that Detroit is basically a city that shuns on forward thinking or creative ideas (Techno and The Heidlburg Projects are perfect examples). I mean sheesh, it took THIS long to have a DEMF in Detroit where this music has been around for almost 20 years! And quote They created a lifestyle mentality, where Pittsburgh and Detroit were still trapped in that Protestant-ethic/bohemian-ethic split, where people were saying, You can't have fun! or What do you mean play in a rock band? Cut your hair and go to work, son. That's what's important. This is so true because I've heard this from Detroiters I know who are creative whose parents would tell them basically that...get a blue collar job instead of doing music or art or whatever...but until they see that you're successful in it (and they'll only understand it when you're sucessful in it), their attitudes don't change because all they understand is a job with a little security, a small house, a wife or a husband, kids...the normal life. But from what I was told it takes people in Detroit a long time to see potential in creativity and new ideas. That's just the way it is. Lates, g. Fred Heutte wrote: I don't subscribe to a lot of the theorizing in this article, but it's interesting -- about recent research done on the role of the creative class in revitalizing cities. In fact, Detroit has a pretty active creative class (the electronic music scene is even mentioned obliquely in the article, but nothing else, showing how little either the author or researcher seem to know about the city), and the *potential* exists, as we've all known, for this to spur the true rebirth of the city. We'll see whether the new mayor rises to that challenge. Re: [313] OT: I have one thing to say....
One more thing. The character development of X-Men, I feel, was crucial to the story telling of the film because not everyone read comics and know what the heck these characters are all about aside from the fact that they're mutants. I liked X-Men and I believe the formula (which is making the movie to be just like the comic book and not adding new and sometimes awful elements to the characters plus utilizing lesser known actors) used and the consequential success of that formula revived the interest in making superhero films. Its the way all the previous superhero flicks should've been done, except Superman, that's like the bible of all superhero flicks. In fact, you can tell that for Spider-Man, they made the production team watch Superman movie on DVD and take notes (i.e. Peter Parker ripping apart his shirt, revealing the costume as he ran to change into Spidey). G. sean deason wrote: hell yeah!! I second the motion! Tobey (deer caught in the headlights) Maguire nailed it! One thing that does bother me though. the new way he spins his webs is kinda gross. and where does the material for the webs come from? wouldnt he run out of it after a while? Maybe thats something they adapted from the Venom costume, but still it grosses me out :^) XMen was a big disappoinment (too much character development and by the time the action started the movie was over) but I love this movie! sean deason Kirsten Dunst in the rain is well worth the price of admission :^) sean glyph1001 wrote: Spider-Man. I would believe that alot of comic book/superhero fans are into Techno or may have played a role in the creation of Techno music because of the fantasy and romanticism of superheros and the pining for space travel and anything to do with Futurism. So in that sense, I'm not surprised. Actually I think its cool. :-) g. Hmmm, I think the Ben Affleck casting is interesting, actually. We'll just have to see if he's acrobatic enough. :-)I also heard that the 'Alias' chick (can't think of her name at the moment) is Elektra and its proven she can fight on camera so that's a good choice. But then again, casting a mega movie-star as a masked superhero is a no-no because what producer would pay mega-movie star money to only have the star's face covered half the time so I'm hoping that need doesn't get in the way of things. I'm personally looking towards a Spider-man X-men team up and perhaps a 'Justice League' live-action movie in the future. :-) In super-hero fever, g. Dear Mr. Kooky Scientist. With all fondness, due respect, and admiration of your music, etc. I think its time that you not continue to bring up the same story of you getting stuck with the hotel bil for the 4th or 5th time. The reason is that 1): you are an important techno artist with bad ass tracks that are hard to get and being nit-picky about this will just make you look bad. 2) I'm sure you are now getting more gigs due to the exposure from the DEMF and the money you get from the gigs I'm sure has made up for the hotel money a twice fold and then some, so please find it in your heart let it go. 3) If you are not responsible for any hotel fees, never put yor credit card down, just explain why you're not responsible and explain to them who will be responsible and leave the hotel 50 bucks for incidentals. And last but not least 4) DJ's and acts get dicked like that all the time...not just DEMF...its like...an occupational hazard so the only thing you can do is learn from the mistakes made and protect yourself next time. I don't mean anything bad or disrespect by this but you're just too important of an artist, you should be above it all. Thanks for reading. Peace, G. Based on what I heard, I doubt it. Its nothing that will jump out at you and could remember IMO, although its mostly collaborations between electronica and rap artists. Bottomline, you're defintely in for a treat film-wise.The Matrix had better come out rocking harder than this because the camera shots on this flick are insane...total superhero shit. I mean views you never thought possible and the special effects/cgi is jaw-dropping. One of my fave martial arts actors, Donnie Yen (Iron Monkey) turns out to be in it and choreographed the fighting scenes. :::swoon::: One thing that gets me is how people bring their little kids to a film like this. A little 7 or 8 yr old girl ended up sitting next to me and she was covering her face on some scenes because it was pretty gorey. Anyway, I'm planning to see it again. :-) Resident Evil is next. And from what I've seen...Milla is Orietta St. Cloud, hands down, ok? Let there be no doubt! :-) I can't wait for Spiderman, Triple X with Vin Diesel and Sam J(ackson): its like extreme sports meets james bond, and Minority Report with Tom Cruise which looks interesting. Nah, there's nothing wrong with ya. Sometimes, in order to 'break in' certain measures have to be taken. Surely, there's plenty of ways to go about it and your explanation is one. If you want to suffer through, you can. Or if you want to play to it and change your style later on, that's a great way too. This also occurs in the movie industry where an indie producer may work his way up to notoriety and financial award by producing a money-making film and then down the road he/she will have the clout and freedom and most importantly THE MOOLAH to do serious/experimental films. This may not sit well with alot of people but its just how the world works from my observation. Laters, g Ploegmakers, Joost wrote: Hi, I'm always a bit confused about how I feel on these practises. Re: [313] Re: DEMF 2002: The Sexy Adventures of Carol Marvin313
Ok, let me put a quash on all this talk about how World Party was a flop. Have you considered the fact that maybe the music wasn't there yet? Meaning the event/concept was probably ahead of its time. How many people were into techno as much as today? I seem to remember artists like Derrick and Inner City were on the bill right? So if you are referring to musical credibility, you can't get any more credible than those guys. They were the big, superstar headliners, right ? And it still failed. The bottom line is, not too many people were even aware of Detroit techno, especially not early 90's Detroit. And certainly not enough to fill an entire arena. After all the Music Institute couldn't even last, and that club was the size of one closet in the Joe Louis Arena (not Cobo). Besides, that was almost 10 years ago. You have to figure that the people into techno now were kids back then and knew nothing of this music. If anything, Carol's mistake was that she put TOO MUCH faith in the drawing power of this music at that time, to her financial regret. --g. I would think that traveling and developing relationships with other DJs/artists, they are more then qualified to choose a lineup. The fact there are 7 shows there will be checks and balances where someone couldn't just bring in their buddies (perhaps as before). Plus, most of them have been around almost 20 years and know who was there from the start. I'm hopeful too that they'll produce a good lineup and keep the spirit alive. I think the last two DEMF's were successes on commercial *and* artistic levels. But that's just one aging-techno-gone-all-downtempo-and-broken-beat man's opinion. :) -d Tee hee, its all good Dan. :-) I don't know...out of all the things she could've invested money in she chose to invest in a Detroit Techno music event in '93 or '94 with great talent rather than doing some other mainstream mish-mash, because where would that leave us? With NO techno music event to enjoy, period. Of course she didn't capitalize and it was her risk..another lesson learned. Chalk one up for experience. Nonetheless, it was a gamble on techno. And she had the decency to choose someone who knew what's up. How about some props for that? She could've easily chosen some cheese label of the month AR jerk to pick the talent so our ears can bleed. The one who shells out the cash get no props because its automatically 'always about the money.' Could it just be that she saw potential for this to be bigger in a positive way, even almost 10 years ago? Yes, yes, yes!...we live in a shameless, capitalistic country/world...that's life. And like most things in life, any investment made, there is a hope, and sometimes an expectation of a return. But what makes a big difference is whether or not this person have the foresight to remain true to the art...without having to go broke in the process. The original point is that there should be promoters in the committee, yes? I'm saying Carol has had experience in organizing/promoting big events therefore she's the 'promoter' element. Whether or not the gigs were good is a new ball game and gawd, one promoter is good enough...sheesh! :-) Have a good day all, --g. Each member of the Committee, which also includes Godfather of Detroit Techno Juan Atkins and Moods and Grooves owner/DJ Mike Grant among tohers, will have the opportunity to submit the names of people that they think should perform at this year's DEMF, discuss reasons why, and eventually vote democratically on the results. What a difference a year makes ! says a visibly-excited Oldham. Needless to say, I'm honored to have been sought out and asked to participate. I look forward to working together with all of my fellow Committee members to help map out the creative direction of this year's DEMF. What DJs and/or live acts are Oldham planning to propose to the committee ? Well, it's a little too soon to divulge that specific info, but I will say that my emphasis will be on a few Detroit people like myself who were overlooked in years past. Also, my personal criteria and logic is that you must have records out, or if you're a non-Detroit artist, you must have recorded for or have some connection to a Detroit label. I'd consider lesser-known talents also. Of course, that's just me. There are six other very esteemed opinions to take into account. And will DJ T-1000 finally get to rock the DEMF as a performer ? I'm proud to say that I'll be finally taking the stage as a DJ at the DEMF this year. It's been a long time coming.I've played big European parties like Mayday, Astropolis,Tribal Gathering and Love Parade, but this is home. I can't wait to bang it. Also due to this news, Oldham's new artist CD on Pure Sonik as DJ T-1000, Neutra, originally scheduled for late March, will be delayed to debut exclusively at the DEMF in May. I'll even say further that Pop Culture themselves has experience in organizing (or have been involved in) huge events and festivals in the past (i.e. as far as I know, the 'World Party' and the Jazz Festival) so that's the 'promoter' component there. As if Carl had previous experience in putting together a huge festival on his own. To be quite frank, it seems to me alot of 'buddies' were picked to play the last two years. Flame, flame, --G. (Truth Be Told) wrote: Why would it be necessary to have promoters? Don't they bring in their favorites anyway or do they bring in big names for a big payday? If you look at the first statement if the Free Press article: A seven-member board of longtime Detroit techno musicians will choose the artist lineup... the panel is there only to choose the talent they don't need to know how it works (festival producer/promoter = Pop Culture Media). I am aware of that these professors are just having fun. I'm just pointing out as to why certain dj's would take their craft more serious than others...that's all. ;-) peace, g. Bill VanLoo wrote: Uh...of course they take it seriously. For many of these dj's, its a career. Sure, of course it is. Yet I still have a sneaking suspicion that this fall firmly into the category of we did it because it was a fun thing to build, not we did it to replace Richie Hawtin or Carl Cox. As I was pointing out earlier, the article says as much. This really isn't especially (313) relevant, though. Also, don't take my examples too seriously - I don't necessarily consider either Hawtin or Cox to be the pinnacle of the DJ craft. So I'll throw out a couple of names just to get the ball rolling (hopefully). Pick which ever you want and tell us what and why you think they are -- oh man I feel like I should be wearing a tweed coat with elbow patches. Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes (or is it Old Skool now) - he was there along with the other magnificent three but never got the recognition. Alan Oldham - not only is he a great music producer but without him DJAX-UP-BEATS would not be the same. Has never made enough comic books. and here's some that aren't in the dance music genres but should be celebrated and discovered James Blood Ulmer - guitarist Steve Coleman and the M-Base Collective Andrew Cyrille - drummer Just thought we could talk about the artists instead of bitching about whether we should be talking about the artists. Oh I'll also add Mary Wilson of the original Supremes - listen to her with Cannonball Adderly for proof of her superior voice (compared to scary Diana Ross) MEK glyph1001 cc: Subject: Re: [313] Black techno artists 02/09/02 12:30 PM Please respond to glyph1001 Right on!! [313]Pump Up Thee Volume
Ok, my turn to rave about this show... Finally saw part one last night after 2 1/2 hours of downloading and I must say it worth the wait. Gosh, I was a little kid in those days and I had no idea there were such clubs like Muzic Box or the Warehouse (until way later) but I too felt the same excitement from this music and all I did was buy it (whenever I can scrounge up $5.00. Domestics were $4.32, tax incl. by then) and listen to it on the radio. The Imports Etc. we saw in the program is the second location on Plymouth Ct. The first one was small, had a tiny front window w/bars, and small steps lead to the door with a homemade Import Etc sign in front of the door . A third location was later opened in the Bucktown Milwaukee Ave neighborhood by the same owner when rave music was the new thing but it closed a few years later.Another record store they failed to mention was Loop Records on State Street. I went to that one the most with my $4.32. A few steps down was State Street Records where Liz Torres and Master CJ released In The City and Face It Those were some bad-ass records too. If you can find those on vinyl, I suggest you snag em'. But, in the late 80's it was all closed down and in the 90's most of it was demolished and turned into a small park. Only the jewish college and Walgreens drug store survives today. Loop Records later on reopened on Michigan Ave, not far from the old location but it didn't last too long. During the summers, I'd open the living room windows and blast house music out the window. The neighborhood kids would end up hangin out under our window and I'd play records like Summertime Summertime by Nocera on Sleeping Bag Records, Puerto Rican Lover and Baila by Ralphi The Razz Rasario. Time to Jack by Chip E. (one of my big favs). Jack The House by Femme Fion on DJ International, We Rockin' Down The House by Adonis, all the fingers Inc. stuff... Anyway, those where the days. If anyone hasn't seen the program, please do. Thanks for reading, G. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Now c'mon guys. Be nice, will ya? The man's trying to understand and explore the messages behind Detroit Techno. Its not all just about Artists and Titles. Like Mike says, alot of this music are the dreams of artists who live in Detroit. Why do they have these dreams? This is quite an interesting subject, a subject he spoke about quite vehemently at Musikundmaschine last year during a breakfast/brunch session, courtesy of Axis. Sitting across from me and plus other journalists, the distinguished man went on in a rant about how tired he is of it all. Tired of the press, tired of conforming to what is expected of him. Seems to me, he just wants to move on with his music/dj style. Like totally move on. I thought he must've gone off his rocker but then as he explained himself, I gradually understood. Frankly, I believe its up to his audience to appreciate the switcher-roo he is contemplating and perhaps progress along with him. Those I think are the true believers of this talent. Its unfair to carelessly lump Jeff in the 'overrated, under skilled + massively over paid superstar dj category, if not tech. Looking at his career, he has worked his butt off (ever noticed how skinny the man is?) to arrive at his current prestige. His schedule is non-f***ing stop. In observing him at Musik, I've come to the conclusion that this man is just amazing. A bloody genius who has a genuine passion for the music and its progression. So basically my friend, with all due respect...I don't know what to tell ya. Heheh, it is what it is, eh?. Re: [313] jeff mills stars again
OH, I'm not feeling this one. What do you or people you've spoken to know about what made Jeff who he is? This all keepin' it real stuff is extremely annoying. Its another way of keeping a man back from his potential and achievements. In other words, Playa-hatin'! Look, before living in Detroit, (I used to commute back and forth from Chicago) I used to have a romanticized view of the D because of the music. Since living here for the time being, I've had in many conversations been told about life in detroit from people who've been here all their lives who they themselves are busy looking for opportunities to leave. Not only was I schooled on the mentality of the city, but also politics in the music and how people treat each other on a basic level. My conclusion? It is not what its cracked up to be. Lots, including me are drawn to Detroit because of the music and insist that Detroit is this and that...Go Detroit! Its cool, but we must remind ourselves that we're all looking at it from environments more pleasant and we need to understand that its ok if some folks can careless. My perception is quite balanced now. Don't get me wrong, I really wish things were better here but I'm not as naive about it as before. In regards to Jeff, I don't and won't say he's dissing Detroit or blame Mills for not being a detroit artist because to me, he has risen above the crap and became a global figure when his opportunity came. Bigger than life itself to some. Mills transcends Detroit. If you're in a bad environment, you get the hell out. You don't stay if you can help it and I don't care who you are (exception being that it depends on a person's mentality). It applies especially if it deals with keeping your sanity and spirts up so you can WRITE music and live life to its fullest. Yeah, sometimes it takes a bad situation to force a person to do something remarkable but the sad, awful truth is that it HAS to take that sort of environment. I always wanted to know why not California, as opposed to Detroit...now I know. Have a nice evening...flame away. =) glyph I know some people in detroit that can't forgive Mills for, as they see it, dissing detroit. never forget what made you what you are. -Joe - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Now you wouldn't know that. The one thing I've learned about the masses or mainstream, is that you have to beat em over the head with it. You can't expect people to use their own minds to seek out something anymore. That's not how the masses think. Its maybe how we think but certainly not the general population. I feel he's trying to break into those clubs and play music for people who doesn't have any idea what techno is. He is opening himself up to a new market, I guess. I see it as a challenge for him to do so. if he wasn't so far up his own arse as to believe his music isn't techno anymore then maybe we'd all get this chance. wasn't he the one who said techno is whatever you want it to be.. so why is he now restricting himself to house clubs? Hmm, ok. and it would be nice for him to give us the chance to progress with him at the clubs we all love and have seen him rock many times. not in some super money club full of people who really won't understand what he's actually doing. I've neglected to respond to the above: What part of his music do you consider not techno anymore? Is it what you think he will play at these house clubs or do you think his current material isn't techno? I really believe his quote is a genuine one and he's not full of shite. LOL I think we're the ones who have the problem because we have put techno in a box or given techno a stereotype whereas Mills hasn't, hence the quote. Techno IS whatever we want it to be. Its Beligum Rave, Gabber, its breaks, its tech-step, its tech-house, its TRANCE =), its IDM, its glitch, its click-house, ambient...on and on. Techno is Techno. Even Detroit Techno is its own brand of techno. Ok, gotta go...the neighbors got the RB blastin' now and I have try and to get back to work. =) Peace, glyph so why is he now restricting himself to house clubs? To you, they're house clubsto him they're places to wreak havoc in. =) I think we just need to remain calm and see what happens. Re: [313] a story?
Yeah its sad. I think the problem is that there is barely any money to market techno and it doesn't help if alot of artists like to remain anonymous. The mainstream like a photo on the cover of CD or record, etc. There's has to be something physical that they can grab on to. If you look at every big name cheesehead electronica artist, there is big money which includes publicity working behind the scenes pushin' them. Look at the labels their on. This is of course a general view but if one look at the details and make the right choices, no artistic integrity will be compromised. If there's a will, there's a way. We just have to make the box we sell techno in...prettier. Peace, Glyph Javier Drada wrote: Don't feel bad it's not any better in the States. Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2001 06:58:48 +0200 well this is a funny story i would like to tell u people here. i am a dj and i am from israel, in case u don`t know Psy-trance is huge here, techno is very small, and yes when people here talk about techno they only like hard stuff, like most people here really like hawtin but not like carl craig and such.(i think that all the techno people here r less than 1000). we did a couple of nits we got like 90 or less people inside. now a good friend of main who is a goa dj but gives much respect to detroit told asked me and my partner to spin is the small room of a big Goa party, i mean they play stuff like 145BPM and even more. it was very funny but sad too. i kicked off with stuff from SND,basic channel, and alot of minimal dub music. after that we did play alot of micro house stuff from poker-flat,playhouse,palette,kompakt force inc. ,7th city, raygun and such. except for a couple of friends who likes us no one did even pay attention some people looked at the SND record like it was a crazy thing from mars. after 2 hours i got the idea no one cares so i played a killer set of good minimal techno and mean ass elektro (there was only 1 guy who did breakdancing!!!- that was my audience). i finished with the last 7th city with duvante and Lig. i didn`t know if i should cry or lough. thats the story wanted i wanted to share and i`ll be happy for some remarks. Re: [313] Speaking of Jeff van dyke...
He's was pretty good, except for a few minor trainwrecks. I wonder what is making him so nervous, he was spot on at the musikundmaschine party. Anyway the guy busted out some old goodie, goodies like Shari Vari, people when ape over that...he also played an old early belgium techno track that goes, rock to the beat...I said rock to the beat..., forgot what it's called at the moment. One Rythim is Rythim track which I call The Straw because it sounded like someone blowing into one. Can anyone name that tune? =) He played alot of his purposemaker tracks and whoever said tracks like Bells isn't good, like those on the G-tech list, are haters because that track is hype, is well loved all over the world and the most important thing: the crowd goes nuts on it, everytime! I didn't stay to hear the end of Jeff's set, and left at 5:30 am 'cause my feet were killing me from dancing with heels on but over all it was a wonderful night. I had fun. glyph Lorie R wrote: Oops!
