The Asbury Park city clerk is a man who is unsure of what he is doing. It took me over a week to get info from him that should have taken only a day. -First of all, I don't find you entertaining. Second,if this is the future of entertainment, I'll make sure my TV set is serviced yearly. Is this the reason you went to New Orleans to be in that room to get a computer show on the air. You should have been helping to save people instead of playing with computers. I hope your gut is O.K., Sharon. But it is true ,this is not a joke. I was told that he was a CABANA BOY or a TOWEL BOY at the Allenhurst Beach Club. His father is the superviser of public works here in A.P. So with DADDY'S political connections he was employed as an A.P.F.D dispatcher. I was told that somehow he was able to by-pass Civil Service and was appointed to the position of Firefighter. I've seen this guy and I would bet all the money I have that he could never pass the Firefighter's Civil Service physical test. It's a really tough test and if you saw the build on this guy, I think you would agree, he wouldn't be able to pass this test. A couple of years ago, under the stewardship of Terry"I got a few bucks stashed in the attic"Weldon he was appointed as a Fire Inspector.I couldn't believe this when I heard it but the more I learn about A.P. politics the more I can believe it. Sonny boy didn't put James Witt back in charge of FEMA. He should have done it though. If he had done that, he would be admitting his mistakes and we know that sonny boy won't admit to ever making a mistake. Mr. Witt has been hired by the La. Governor but I don't know in what position. [AsburyPark] Re: Who to blame
The survivors on TV have said they couldn't leave because it was the end of the month or they needed to wait for their paychecks and they had no money in order to leave. The transportation you mention is not free. The OEM should have corraled the public & school buses to aid in the evacuation. I can believe that a city with a predominately black population can be run by blacks and ran well. New Orleans wouldn't have the tourist trade it has if it wasn't run properly. Asbury Park is one of the few exceptions,as we have seen. In fact most of the big cities in the US have mostly black residents and are ran fine with black elected officials. There is no way the entire city could have been evacuated in time if they were told to do so. Physically impossible. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "Sharon G. First of all, and i heard this on TV and not sure if it is true, the resident were not told to evacuate in a timely manner. If all the residents had the ways and means to leave, the infrastructure would not have been able to handle it. It would have been one big parking lot. Knowing it is the end of the month and also that most residents live paycheck to paycheck, You don't just tell them to evacuate, you have to aid them in the evacuation. Supply transportation to get the residents out.Transport them to a safe area to ride out the storm. They had concerns about the roof of the Superdome before they seltered the residents there. Coming across the Gulf the hurricane was a catagory 5. The officials knew the levees were built to withstand a catagory 3. So they were aware that the levees could be compromised and unfortunately and sadly they were. After that sonny boy vacationed in Crawford and went to a party in Ca. without giving any thought to the victims in the Gulf states. Just a side note. Al Sharpton just took the press to task,as you have been doing, told them to stop calling the survivors "refugees". I'm not to crazy about the guy all the time but at least he is never afraid to set anyone straight. I'm now glad that Kanye was cut off on the show last night. -Now you know i never blamed sonny boy for the hurricane. I blame him for his lack of action prior to and immediately after the hurricane passing through the area. Yesterday he told us we should conserve fuel. So what does he do. Takes a jet and a motorcade for some sight seeing and photo ops. He should practice what he preaches. I will blame my government for not being ready to deal with the after effects of this disaster known as Katrina. We all saw it coming for days. They knew the levees could not withstand a stage 4 or 5 hurricane. It was predicted to be a 5 when it hit land. Sonny boy reduced the funding to the levee work. We knew there would be damage after the storm and that help would be needed. The resources should have been standing by to go into the area after the storm had past. You don't call up the Nat. Guard 3 days later esp. since most are in Iraq fighting his war. We had supplies in the tsunami area quicker than in New Orleans.FEMA was always a top rate agency. Sorry to say that between sonny boy and Jersey Mickie, it no longer is top rate. I have been active in the political process my whole life. I vote early and often. I think you should take a look out the windows down there in New Orleans, looks to me like the black american is still oppressed. It's really sad that we see this on our TV's in 2005. Just think, after two days of vacation & four days of very sincere speeches & photo ops, sonny boy will be arriving in the Gulf coast today. That means he will get there before all the desparatly needed help he has been saying is on the way. Well maybe it's been on the way. But on the way to where, Iraq. If it was going there, it would have arrived days ago. Our own Michael Chertoff-head of homeland security, which now oversees FEMA. This is the first time in my lifetime( and I won't say what that is, he he)that FEMA wasn't in a needed disaster area within 24 hrs. And this was a disaster we saw coming for days and should have been prepared and justing sitting outside the danger zone to move right into action. God help us if we are hit with another terrorist attack. Sonny boy and little Mickey Chertoff will probably hide out in Crawford. I'm on a roll. I have to rant! More to come. [AsburyPark] SUPER DOME BANNER
When sonny boy arrives in New Orleans this weekend, he will pull up on an army tank, wearing some military gear, and unfurl a banner from the Super Dome.."Mission Accomplished". He couldn't see the sense of only being able to use it just one time. The victims of the hurricane and sonny boys continuous inemptness will start cheering LOUDLY, When they notice that sonny boy is caught up in the banner and sonny boy is dangerously hanging from it. Unfortunately the Army, the Reserves, local & state Police and all frist responders had been order to stay away from the Dome because of the violence surrounding it. JUST HANG IN THERE SONNY BOY MAYBE DADDY WILL COME BY TO SAVE.I DOUBT IT THOUGH. IT WILL BE A BIG ARMY RESEVIST THAT WILL SAVE YOU. AND GUESS WHAT? SHE'S A FULL FLEDGE LESBIEN. You would have thought that sonny boy had learned from his fathers mistakes but NO sonny boy's mistakes are worst than the old mans'. FATHER- Desert Storm Hurricane Andrew SONNY BOY-War in Iraq Hurricane Katrina I think it's appalling that there are still people dying along the Gulf coast. Our Goverment was able to get aid to India & Thiland faster than in our own country. The politicians are all over TV saying aid is on the way. It should have been there days ago. The goverment claims the flooding was keeping them out. How come every newsperson was able to get into New Orleans. This government should be ashamed of themselves but we know they are not. It is so so sad what we are seeing on TV. Four hurricanes in Florida and sonny boy had aid there right away for brother Jeb. Sonny boy says we should conserve fuel. So what is he going to do? Fly down to the disaster areas. Hey sonny boy, stay home, pack your bags in the white house for the last time and save the jet fuel. The price of gas is going to sky rocket even more and guess who will be making more money because of it. The entire Bush clan. Only in America friends, only in America. Yahoo! [AsburyPark] Re: Katrina
It's a crime what is happening in the Wildwoods. When I went there last month I came close to tears. If they want to build condos they should be restricted to the west side of the island which is in dire need of redevelopement. The Wildwoods are unique unto themselfs and should be kept the way they are. If they keep knocking down the cute motels and replacing them with condos, they will lose their tourist trade and we know the p/t condo residents will not support it. She had complained directly to the owner but nothing was done about it. The Post reporter met her at 3:00pm to interview her and they took like 30 photos. This women was then meeting the APP for another interview. [AsburyPark] Re: WE MUST BLEND RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL TO
Avon is considered a nice family beach but people only go there for the beach and go home. As for the other two and i may be wrong but some people like hanging out with the elite and they brag to their friends that they go to the beach there. People have been coming to Asbury because of the media. Cheap beach badges and free parking. Once the condos go up so will the beach fees and expensive new parking meters.- -- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "bluebishop82" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Looking for some help with this: > > Avon is by far the most crowded and popular beach in the area. Maybe there was alot more vehicular passing through and not enough pedestrian traffic to warrent the closing. We don't close off streets just because there is some pedestrian traffic, once a month.
