801 to 1720

2000-08-15 Thread MANOJ

hi guy's

I am having a strange problem with isdn connection from 801 to 1720.
I have two 801's and a 1720 to connect three locations. I configured the
801' and tested dialing either way and they are working fine. Then I
replaced one 801 with 1720 with BRI module and tested. When 1720
orginates the call 801 answers correctly and works fine. the problem is
when 801 orginates the call to 1720. The q931 debug show that the call
is rejected because it is unbindable. can anyone suggest anything on
this. I am using almost same config in all routers and not using any
authentication. The main difference is the 1720 got two dialers and 801
got ony one. Only static routes are used. If anyone requires required I
can post the full config and debug details. The IOS ver is 12

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Manoj.

You could try adding the command service compress-config.

Warning. Be careful with this command, I've used it in the past on a 2501
running a 12.0 IOS release and the router wouldn't boot, managed to get it
back with a password recovery.

Sam,

Napster is able to be proxied through port 80 now with the latest revisions.
Simply shutting down port 6699, can't be done anymore to block it. You have
to block access to their servers. Last I checked, Raptor, Pix, Gauntlet or
Checkpoint didn't block napster's IP addresses directly without
customization.

Re: blocking napster

2000-08-15 Thread David Weeks

I may be wrong, but couldn't you block napster at the router by null 0'ing the
IP?

I.E.

Name:www.napster.com
Address: 208.184.216.230

Ip route 208.184.216.230 null 0

This should drop any packets destined for that network

RE: Intermittent loss of connectivity

2000-08-15 Thread David Jones

You can check the interface of the router to see if it is getting carrier
transitions or dropping packets. I ran into something similiar once at a
customer's. I set up a new site for them and they supplied the ip
addresses. Come to find out, the ethernet ip's they gave me for the new
site were in use somewhere else. So now, we had two routes going two
different places for the same subnet. Readdressed the new site and took out
the duplicate route.

And if you _really_ want to get confused, pity me a bit when I came

platforms, the RSP is the forwarding engine, comparable to the Cisco
VIP, and the SSP is the management and path determination processor,
comparable to the "R" part of the Cisco RSP.

Re: Port 80

I tried it on mine and it worked just fine. It needs to be entered in
global config. It may be a browser issue or proxy issue. Also, you could
scan the ip address of the router to verify that port 80 is open.

Need advice on CCIE written

2000-08-15 Thread John Gesualdi

How difficult is the CCIE wriiten? I have completed CCNP and CCDP so far
which was alot of work. A friend of mine asked me to give him my resume but
before doing so I would like to add "Passed CCIE wriiten" to it. I'm thinking
of taking this test within two weeks even though I did not study as much as I
originally intended to do. So far I have read :

"Internetworking technologies Handbook" front to back
Cisco Switched networks ( has good ATM stuff in this book and allowed me to
review the switched stuff )
Internet routing architectures
I have extensive experience with OSPF and also have experience with BGP4. I
have not worked with token ring , ipx or IBM technologies. I've worked with
cisco routers for 3 years.

I'm also reviewing The ACRC book again. Can this test be passed with this
linmited amount of preparation? Again my goal is to say that I passed the "CCIE
wriiten" for my interview which is comming up. Let me know your thoughts before
I blow $200.00 bucks on this test.

Thanks

Watchdog Timer (restart)???

2000-08-15 Thread NeoLink2000

Hey Team, Here is a piece of the show ver command:

Atlanta_1 uptime is 10 minutes
System restarted by watchdog timer expired at 05:59:11 pdt Tue Aug 15 2000

Here's the deal. We manage net's for various clients where we get snmp tickets from
our clients. We got one that said Cisco Up with reboot. We get these often but this
one said the cause was due to a watchdog timer expiring. Nobody in the office can
figure out for sure what this is. I went to CCO and got this from them on the watchdog
timer: "Hardware or software mechanism that is used to trigger an event or an escape
from a process unless the timer is periodically reset. See also watchdog." and now
watchdog: "Watchdog timer manager that runs on the NP of each LightStream 2020 ATM
switch in an ATM network. The watchdog process rearms the watchdog timer so that the
system automatically restarts if the NP fails." Seems simple enough right? Here's the
catch. This happened on a 2610 router and I doubt it's running ATM at all. Could
someone please help us out and clarify what this is so I can close this damn ticket ;)

to get into global config, at privilege mode type: config term

then it should change prompt to: Router(config)#

RE: Port 80

2000-08-15 Thread Timmons, Robert

Global config means that you have to enter the command at the
'router#(config)' prompt.
When you're at the router command prompt in exec mode 'router#', enter
'config t' (configure terminal).
Then enter the 'ip http server' command.

RE: Need advice on CCIE written

2000-08-15 Thread Chuck Larrieu

I thought it was $300.

Some whose advice I trust have suggested that token ring / RIF is essential,
as is at least a working knowledge of ATM terminology. Your routing protocol
background looks good.

The certification zone ( www.certificationzone.com ) practice tests I've
taken also include questions of the sort that you studied for the lower
level certs, but may have put aside, like ISDN reference points and the
like. One practice test had a gawd awful series of telnets from router to
router, and then asked what router you were in, and what command would get
you to a particular router telnet session.

I'll bet you're close. Bone up on bridging, token ring, and ATM terminology.

And knock 'em dead!

1600 startup-config

2000-08-15 Thread Fanglo MA

Dear group,

I have no experience with CISCO 1600 router. And current I got one from ebay. When I
try saving the configuration to NVRAM by command

copy run start

and then submit the reload command by which I expect the saved config will be
executed. To my surprise, the router return to no configuration and ask for my
setting!!

Can anyone give me some guidance?

Best regards,
Fanglo MA

Hi folks,
Is there any sort of Cisco white paper out there which
provides a decision tree for determining whether to deploy OSPF versus
EIGRP.

Thanks in

Re: 1600 startup-config

2000-08-15 Thread Marco Rodrigues

Make sure you have the proper bit setting in your register. IF i'm
not mistaken (trying to tell ya from the op of my head) the config
register should be 0x2102. That tells the router to boot IOS from FLASH
and look for the startup config in the NVRAM.

Hope that helps!

vpdn enable on 3640 ?

2000-08-15 Thread Gabriel Nickel

Hi folks,
we got a problem here with a 3640. any attempts to
start a "vpdn enable" command are answered with an "unrecognized command" (or
something like that) message. does this
mean that we have to load a certain feature pack on
the 3640? we checked the cisco site
but couldnt find any l2tp&vpdn (we need both
running on this machine) feature for this
platform.

RE: Switches !!!

2000-08-15 Thread Odom, Sean/SAC

Great! Did you see the post by Howard? He summed up interVLAN routing very
technically in-depth. -Sean

Sean Odom, CCNP, MCSE, CNX-EtherII
Coriolis/Sybex Author
www.TheQuestForCetification.com
E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

One of the things that confuses this discussion is that "switch" is
more a marketing than a technical term. Certainly "layer 3 switch"
is a marketing term.

There seems to be an assumption in this discussion that fastest is
always best. No. Taking off my Cisco stockholder hat, cheapest that
will do the job is best.

Regardless of the vendor, routing has two distinct functions. Path
determination builds the "routing table," or, more properly, the
Routing Information Base (RIB). The RIB is what you see when you do a
"show IP route." RIBs are optimized for updating by dynamic routing.
Incidentally, the OSPF database, BGP Adj-RIB, etc., are not part of
the RIB, but are inputs to it.

Typically, the first packet to a destination must go through the RIB
to get the FIB set up.

From the RIB is derived the Forwarding Information Base (FIB), which
the second function, packet forwarding, examines to select the
outgoing interface to which the packet is to be sent, based minimally
on destination address.

In process switching, the RIB and FIB are the same data structure.
There is no true FIB.

In fast switching, there is a FIB, which still is in main RAM, and
forwarding is done by the CPU.

In autonomous and silicon switching on the AGS+ and 7000, the FIB was
in a separate memory, and the bus controller (AGS) or Silicon Switch
Processor (7000) did the forwarding. The FIB was on the same board as
the forwarding engine. FIB memory was small, so if the particular
destination was not present (i.e., new or not recently used), there
could be "cache misses". On a cache miss, the FIB was invalidated and
rebuilt from the RIB.

In optimum switching, the FIB and RIB are both on the RSP card, but
in separate physical memories. One processor/memory set does path
determination, and one does forwarding.

In distributed switching (CEF and NetFlow) on router platforms,
simplifying slightly, there is one RIB but multiple copies of the FIB
are distributed onto the VIPs, each of which runs a separate
forwarding process. VIPs have large memories, so the FIB and RIB (at
least in CEF) are in 1:1 correspondence, and there are no cache
misses. Still, the first packet to a destination goes through the
RIB.

In distributed/layer3 switching on "switch" platforms, there remains
a single route determination engine. This can be in the same physical
chassis (e.g., RSM in a 5000), or in a separate chassis (the
"external router"). A Cisco proprietary protocol transfers the FIB
information to a NFFC on a 5000 series or to a forwarding board on
the higher-speed distributed switches.

Using an external router platform as the source of the FIB, or even
using an external router for all inter-VLAN routing, is simply a
design choice. A very real-world situation is having your clients in
one place and servers in another, but on the same VLAN (or using
VLAN-aware NICs). In such a situation, the actual requirement for
inter-VLAN forwarding may be limited to management (e.g., pinging
from the management station) or perhaps email. The function of
routing is important, but not the speed.

In this case, to keep costs low, I'd consider, in order,

 1. Use a 2600 to do all inter-VLAN routing
 2. Use a 3600 to do it a little faster
 3. I don't know the most recent support for external path
determination --
used to be that the 4500/4700 was the lowest platform. Probably a
3600
can these days. Use a 3600 as path determination engine and an
NFFC
or equivalent on the switch platform(s).
 4. Use an RSM/NFFC or equivalent.
 5. Use a 1/12000, etc., for very heavy routing loads with multiple
WAN interfaces. A 7200 or 7500 might be appropriate in some cases

RE: 1600 startup-config

2000-08-15 Thread Leigh Anne Chisholm

When you type "show version", you should see a configuration register value. Normal
setting for this value is 0x2102. Changing bit 6 of the 16 bit register will cause
the router to ignore the contents of NVRAM. Since the router bypasses your startup
configuration file, it prompts you for new settings.

You can change your configuration register by using the "config-register" global
configuration command. Type "config-register ".

Probably no, because subneting questions really does not involve
complex calculations. You are only aloud a pen and peace of paper. You can
write anything on that paper before starting the test, if subneting is your

Just so everyone knows, the last three times I have tested, I was presented
with a useless little add, subtract, multiply, divide calculator, which was
at my disposal during my tests.

If you don't know subnetting, a calculator won't help you anyway. Certainly
not the one I had available.

And yes, the test proctor is the one who presented it to me, along with the
blank sheets of plastic ( yuch!! )

Similarities and differences. On the Bay devices, any card could be
the main processor as well, which preceded Cisco's HSA feature.
Cisco's counterclaim was that VIPs cost less and were more optimized
for forwarding.

In the newer platforms from both vendors, there really is
convergence. Line cards do forwarding and multiple processor cards
do path determination. Things get even more complex, and there are
no simple answers, when one considers more processing-intensive
functions like filtering, traffic shaping, encryption, compression,
etc., and whether these are in the "fast path," a coprocessor, or the
main processor. I'm sure you will see both similarities and
differences in new products from all vendors.

CiscoView

2000-08-15 Thread A Brandon

Hi all, I have a request to any really helpful souls out there :)
I have access to a Catalyst 5000 (5006) switch for practice and would like
to use CiscoView with it. I have some access to CCO but not enough to
download such software.

Is there any way I can get CiscoView 4.2 to use with this switch?

I found the software that I think would work at:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/CiscoView/cvresult.cgi?&product_class=Catalyst%20Switches&product=Catalyst%205000&application=CiscoView%204.2&state=:AP

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex.

Re: Can you use the calculator in tests?

2000-08-15 Thread David Ristau

no calculator. here is how I remembered 2^n-2

for class c

2 6 14 30 62
62 30 14 6 2
one is backwards, one is forwards, top is # of subnets bottom is number
of hosts

class B is the same
just in powers of 2 to 16384(-2) for the subnets and the reverse 16384
to 2 for the hosts

if you know powers of two, use the finger method to count the bits.

  Hi folks,
we got a problem here with a 3640. any attempts
to start a "vpdn enable" command are answered with an "unrecognized command"
(or something like that) message. does this
mean that we have to load a certain feature pack

but couldnt find any l2tp&vpdn (we need both

color codes console cables

2000-08-15 Thread Oz

there is no real color scheme that I know of as the course cablk could be
made in different ways and colors

my eyes a getting a little old these days

but a cisco console cable is (pale blue sheath)

clip facing down

brown ( left side)
blue
yellow
green
red
black
orange
grey ( Maybe white)
I guess
Easiest way to tell is just place the connectors side by side and the same
way up the colors should be the same outside to inside then inside to
outside

Is a switch secure? (managed/unmanaged)

2000-08-15 Thread Dave Kemper

Hello Group Study,
A quick question for you.
Scenario:
I have a client with about 8 leased offices in his complex, total 16 drops
plus room for future expansion. He would like to provide shared high speed
Internet access to each office but for security reasons must maintain
confidentiality between each office. Additionally some offices would like to
share files between the office renter and their individual secretary.

Internet --> Firewall  ->  switch--> (Office #1 Secretary PC) & (Office #1
Business owner).

The network may have to be reconfigured as tenants moving in and out have
different network requirements.

My solution:
My first thought would be to get a managed 24 port switch that where each
port can be configured for separate VLANs. Configure all ports to have
access to the port for Internet access and set ports between each secretary
and there office manager to have access to each other.

1) Can this be done this way?
2) Is this the best way to do this?
3) What other solutions would resolve the problem?
4) Can you recommend brands and models of hardware for this solution?

If anyone has any good resources on the Net or from Vendors that explains
this well, I would appreciate knowing about them. Please post replies to the
group for all to learn from and if it is convenient copy to my email address
also.

Thank you in advance and have fun!

Configuring ISDN

2000-08-15 Thread James Kavenaugh

Hello,
I'm configuring an ISDN line for my first time and I have a couple of
questions. I've read through the documents on CISCO's www site but they
didn't seem to answer everything. This is on a 1600 series.

>From what I read you specify the destinations ip, phone number and login
information with the dialer map ip command. But what if the destination IP is
unknown? Can you use "dialer map ip 0.0.0.0 name blah 8675309"

All I really know is the distant ends ip and login information. Should I
becareful of anything else?

Thanks

Briefly, yes.

Depends how you define "useful."

It reduces processor loading in environments with multiple peers, and
simplifies configuration.

Can you use the calculator in tests?

2000-08-15 Thread Doneit, Dieter

Sorry about that I had pasted some information in the e-mail which did not
show up.I am a nubie and had a lot of problems with subnetting.I created a
little chart that helped me pass my CCNA.The simple thing to do is to write
down before the exam on a blank sheet of paper 8 squares numbered 1 2 4 8 16
32 64 128 underneath make the same number of squares and leave blank on top
make the same number of squares and fill in the numbers starting from the
left at 128:
128|192|224|240|248|252|254|255|
128| 64 |32 | 16 | 8 | 4 | 2 | 1 |

This will help you in your conversions. I will try to attach my little chart
to the e-mail.If you do not get it e-mail me and I will forward it

bootp config

2000-08-15 Thread Sites, Bob

Trying to configure an IBM 7913 coax/twinax for a printer using BootP from
out AIX UNIX server. For some reason we cannot get it to flow through our
C5509 and C5500 switches. Before we installed the switches, using purely
Cisco routers this was not a problem. Bootp is the only option to configure
these devises. Have tried BootP programs from a laptop but are not working
either. Could be the Win2000 conflicting with my old pgms. We have IP Helper
turned on pointing to the BootP server. Any ideas?

Watchdog restart...(anybody?)

2000-08-15 Thread NeoLink2000

Hey Team, Here is a piece of the show ver command:

Atlanta_1 uptime is 10 minutes
System restarted by watchdog timer expired at 05:59:11 pdt Tue Aug 15 2000

Here's the deal. We manage net's for various clients where we get snmp
tickets from our clients. We got one that said Cisco Up with reboot. We get
these often but this one said the cause was due to a watchdog timer expiring.
Nobody in the office can figure out for sure what this is. I went to CCO and
got this from them on the watchdog timer: "Hardware or software mechanism
that is used to trigger an event or an escape from a process unless the timer
is periodically reset. See also watchdog." and now watchdog: "Watchdog timer
manager that runs on the NP of each LightStream 2020 ATM switch in an ATM
network. The watchdog process rearms the watchdog timer so that the system
automatically restarts if the NP fails." Seems simple enough right? Here's
the catch. This happened on a 2610 router and I doubt it's running ATM at
all. Could someone please help us out and clarify why there was a watchdog restart so
I can close this damn ticket ;) Thanks team,

Mark Z.

RE: OSPF question - discontiguous areas

2000-08-15 Thread Chuck Larrieu

Let me state first of al that I do not know the genesis of this question. It
originated on another news group, and there were a number of responses that
stated "use virtual links"

I thought about the implication of the question, and asked myself "in OSPF,
do areas have to have unique numbers?" The answer is interesting. Looked up
RFC 2328, the current OSPF standard, and found the following rather
interesting paragraph:

---
3.7. Partitions of areas

OSPF does not actively attempt to repair area partitions. When an area
becomes partitioned, each component simply becomes a separate area. The
backbone then performs routing between the new areas. Some destinations
reachable via intra-area routing before the partition will now require
inter-area routing. However, in order to maintain full routing after the
partition, an address range must not be split across multiple components of
the area partition. Also, the backbone itself must not partition. If it
does, parts of the Autonomous System will become unreachable.

Backbone partitions can be repaired by configuring virtual links (see
Section 15).
---

In other words, the configuration as described below is a legal OSPF
construction. One may have multiple areas of the same number. The only
caveat appears to be that the address space cannot overlap.

I still have not heard from the person who posted the original question as
to why it was asked. Was it a matter of an area that had two links into the
backbone that through bad things happening, became partitioned? Or was it a
matter of somebody just did it that way.

Someone else asked in anther thread if anyone thought Caslow was the
greatest. I personally find Caslow's approach to be outstanding, and worth
studying. I can say the same about a few other writers I have read, some of
whom participate here on groupstudy. Problems such as this one provide a
clue as to why.

Chuck

This question came up on another list. I thought I would repeat it here, and
see what kind of discussion it engenders.

Question: how does one repair a discontiguous OSPF area?

e.g. Area_2-Area_0---Area_2

How would you go about it?

RE: bootp config

2000-08-15 Thread David Jones

You may need to do a spanning-tree portfast on the port of the printer.
Without portfast turned on, the port doesn't actually start passing data
until spanning-tree has determined that the port is not going to create a
loop. This will affect things like bootp, dhcp and logging into NT domains

Here's
the catch. This happened on a 2610 router and I doubt it's running ATM at
all. Could someone please help us out and clarify why there was a watchdog restart so I can close this damn ticket ;)  Thanks team,

Mark Z.

Guys,

Tell me if I'm wrong but

From my understanding of OSPF it is LEGAL to have

This is because the type 3 LSAs don't contain area

Sylvan Exam Standards

Hi,

I am currently on a course just now and while speaking to other delegates it
turns out that there are some Sylvan Testing centres that allow you to take
your notes in with you i.e. books while there are others that let you take
in a few study notes with you. Now, firstly if these people can get away
with it then fair enough (any test centre I have been in have spy cameras
watching your every move). I am curious to see if there are any other test
centres that allow this (NOT the calculator from previous postings
(mad!!!)).

Seems like some testing centres have different views on life.

At the minimum, you need under the ATM interfaces:

atm pvc 1 0 5 qsaal
atm pvc 2 0 16 ilmi

Then do:

show atm ilmi-status

and you should see the prefix part of the NSAP address.

RE: OSPF question - discontiguous areas

2000-08-15 Thread Howard C. Berkowitz

>Let me state first of al that I do not know the genesis of this question. It
>originated on another news group, and there were a number of responses that
>stated "use virtual links"

There is no general solution to solving partitioned nonzero areas in
OSPF. That being said, there are some hacks that may be tried,
although the "right way" is to build adequate cross-connections
inside an area.

Some ugly things can be done with GRE tunnels and on-demand OSPF.
OSPF would see the tunnel, but the underlying IP route for the tunnel
would be statically routed through area 0.0.0.0.

Virtual links are more appropriate for healing partitions in area 0.0.0.0.

From an Internet-Draft I really need to update,

3.4 Virtual Links

A virtual link is a tunnel that has at least one
end in Area 0. Virtual
Links (VL) are a mechanism that can be used
within OSPF to handle
certain connectivity patterns. The standard is
a bit "soft" on their
applications, and support engineers have seen a
variety of VL
applications. For some of the problems being raised, it
appears better
OSPF solutions may exist.

A matter of particular
interest is the potential advantages of NSSAs
over some of the VL
solutions to bringing in a new "community of
interest." See the
discussion below of VL applicability in other than
backbone
robustness.

The perception of virtual links' untility seems to be as
a means of
accomodating specical connectivity requirements "inside" a
single "OSPF
domain," the latter defined as a set of an Area 0 and
some number of
nonzero areas.

In some of these requirements, virtual
links may be completely
appropriate, one of several potential
solutions, or definitiely not an
appropriate solution.

Some
designers may use virtual links to avoid other mechanisms that
they
do not like, such as defining the enterprise's network with
multiple
interconnected OSPF domains.

Virtual links are not
necessarily the appropriate solution, but cases
have been seen where
they are used for:

--- Protecting against Area 0 partitioning

--- Making one area 0 following the merger of two enterprises,

both of which ran independent OSPF
--- Providing connectivity to
a newly acquired enterprise
whose best connectivity is to a
router in a nonzero area
  of the acquiring enterprise

[snip]

5. Increasing Backbone Reliability

A failure in Area 0 is
critical.

A single Area 0 has a single point of failure. Hopefully,
the ASCII
graphic shows this. Area 0 has two interconnected Border
Routers, BR1
and BR2. To avoid single router points of failure,
there are two ABRs,
each with three interfaces: Area 0, Area 1, and
Area 2.

5.1 VL Solution

If the BR1-BR2 link fails, a VL can be
defined between the Area 1
interface of ABR-1 and between the Area 1
interface of ABR-2. This
reconstitutes backbone connectivity with a
tunnel through Area 1.

BR1--BR2
   \
/
\ ...to BR2 /

ABR-1 ABR-2--/ ABR-3

=

| | | * |
   | |---
*  |
   | VL?*
|
   |* |

v* v
  Area 0.0.0.1
*   Area 0.0.0.2
5.2 Alternative using Adding Circuit(s)

The
preferred way to solve this problem is adding a parallel link
between
BR1 and BR2. Especially if these links can be per-packet
load
balanced, convergence would be extremely fast.

This solution,
however, incurs additional cost for the additional
circuit. Balanced
against this cost is the performance impact the VL
would have on the
routers and links in the nonzero area through which
the VL is
tunneled. Those routers and links may have been engineered for
the
traffic estimates and performance goals under the workload of
that
single area, not of that area with backbone traffic added to it.

-
Now, let's talk about a partition in area 0.0.0.1.

 BR1--BR2

\ /
\
...to BR2 /
 ABR-1 ABR-2--/
ABR-3

=

| | *
   | | *

  IR1---X-IR2 *

|*
   v
*
  Area 0.0.0.1 *

At "X", there is a break between interior routers IR1 and IR2.
Without summarization, this will work.

Assume that 172.16.0.0/16 has been assigned to the area, and this is the
only summary announced to the backbone. Further assume that 172.16.0.0/17
is assigned to the "west" side of the area and 172.16.128.0/17 is assigned
to the "e

Title: RE: Is a switch secure? (managed/unmanaged)

Hi Dave,

Even though you can do it with a switch but its not secure enough to satisfy highly profiled customers because packets can be sniffed across vlan ports using mirroring port and there is no packet inspection and if you need vpn in the future you have to look from all over again.

So here is my solution for this even though I am not trying to push for it but product at netscreen (www.netscreen.com) called NS1000 is directly targeted for this kind of multi-tenant networking sites. It has integrated firewall, VPN and traffic shaping in gigabit throughput range. You can use virtual systems and vlans inside one NS1000 and if in the future remote sites want to come into their appropriate local site just turn on the vpn features for appropriate virtual system. Each tenant will have total security through the firewall. If one tenant want to talk to other tenant they have to go through NS1000 by following their appropriate policy. It support, vlan tagging, NAT and other firewall options for sure.

Here is physical topology
            Internet<>NS1000<-->Switch<>Tenant-1, Tenant-2,...Tenant-100.
Product has been released 6 months ago and is under deployment in major ASPs and ISPs such as cable&wireless, loudcloud, yipes are few.

Subject: Is a switch secure? (managed/unmanaged)

Internet --> Firewall  ->  switch--> (Office #1 Secretary PC) & (Office #1
