True Types Font Server for RH 8.0

2003-06-10 Thread CM Miller

For the heck of it, I installed some true type fonts
on my RH 8.0 box, under /usr/local/fonts/ttf.

I have the following installed:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ttf]# ls -a
. .. arial.ttf AURABESH.TTF BATTLEST.TTF
fonts.dir fonts.scale NEUROPOL.TTF
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ttf]#

For some reason the arial.ttf does not appear when I
have a choice of fonts to select while all others on
the list above do.

Any idea why?

thanks

Zonet KVM Switch

2003-06-08 Thread CM Miller

Using a Zonet KVM 4 port switch to share
monitor/keyboard/mouse with RH box and OpenBSD box

http://www.gooddealpc.com/index168.html?Products/Network/Description/Kvm/KVM3004.html~middle

When I switch to OpenBSD box and then back to RH 8.0
box, the mouse/keyboard will not responde.

Is anyone else using this KVM? Are they having the
same problem as me or any other problems?

Also, what KVM are people using and not having any
problems with?

thanks

RE: Zonet KVM Switch

2003-06-08 Thread CM Miller

Never used that switch before but I have an Aten 16
port KVM
rackmount/LCD
monitor
Works great going from novell,winnt4, w2k, redhat 7.3
 8.0 .
My old KVM was a belkin 4 port no problem with that
either.
Is the KVM powered? Does it supply signal to the
systems when they
are not
being viewed?

The KVM is powered thru the ps/2 connection. One box
is ATX powersupply and when I plug in the ps/2
connector, the light on the KVM comes on. The other
box is an AT box and doesn't have current always on.

I'm not sure if the KVM supplies signal when they are
not turned on. My guess not, cause the OpenBSD box
freaks out when I switch over to RH 8.0 box. It
starts to thrown random characters to the screen and
that annoying beep from the computer speaker.

thanks

Installing MPlayer: Have an challenge here.

2003-06-05 Thread CM Miller

I did have MPlayer up and working on my RH 8.0 box.

There was a new version released,
mplayer-0.90-fr2.ppc.rpm. I apt-get this one, but when
trying to watch a video, it would not work. I think
apt-get is ok, it is something to do with hardware.

I've uninstalled it and I've tried to install from
source and I used

./configure --enable-gui

It did not work and I'm not sure what I am looking for
in the configure.log file to help me out here.

Any help here would be great.

What type of processor you have?

This package (mplayer-0.90-fr2.ppc.rpm) is released
for PowerPC
computers and don't work in x86 computers.

But, if you've a normal PC, try to download the
mplayer-0.9.0-fr2.i386.rpm package.

SKIN dir 2: '/usr/share/mplayer/Skin'
[skin] file ( /usr/share/mplayer/Skin/default/skin )

This is a a very commom problem after the
instalation. The Mplayer
don't
create the skin directory. In the first attempt, it
try to search the
skins in $HOME/.mplayer/Skin directory, after this,
it try the
/usr/share/mplayer/Skin/default/skin directory. To
solve the
problem,
at least the default skin have to be installed in
one of these
directories to work.
Try to install the mplayer-skins package. If don't
work, mail me.

Yes, you were right, I needed to install
mplayer-skins, but for some reason apt-get did not
install any of this either.

Either way, I installed this rpm and all is well.

Thank you for your help, and if anyone else is having
problems with mplayer, remember to install the skin
rpm as well.

thanks again

How Switch To CSH Shell in RH?

For the life of me, I can't remember how to switch to

typing either tcsh or csh would switch the shell.

The reason I ask is because I am working for a client

sounds like a more serious problem..hmm.. You also

Are you pretty

I was pretty sure I wasn't hacked because I wasn't
getting login correct error. Plus the machine wasn't
on my network, unless somebody physically broke into
my home and hacked it, and why they would do that is
beyond me.

Either way, the problem is fixed...for now...thanks

So to understand you correctly, during bootup all of
these conf files you see at start up are being read by
cat? Correct?

What the hell are the post-install and pre-remove

Those lines are normal, they save and restore mixer
 settings.

I've never seen them before in modules.conf.

What lines? I'm talking about the pre-remove and
 post-install...those can't be normal...cause once I
removed them, then all modules loaded back ok.

The pre remove and post install lines are correct.
The do nothing
more
than load and save mixer settings for your sound
card. Recreating the
file is probably what allowed it to work.

  alias /proc/scsi/imm
  alias /proc/scsi/parport
  alias /lib/modules/2.4.18-26.8.0/kernel/fs/ntfs

The 3 lines above are invalid, I believe.
alias takes the form of alias alias_name result

But I want those modules to be loaded each time I
start up my box, so I manually don't have to do it
each time.

THey work fine now and load these modules, unless
you
 can give a better example.

Load what modules?
The parport module is loaded by: alias
parport_lowlevel parport_pc
The ntfs module should be loaded on demand when you
try to mount an
ntfs
filesystem (with mount /foo /bar -t ntfs ..., or an
entry in
/etc/fstab),
and I've no idea what /proc/scsi/imm is supposed to
do.
If you are trying to load an scsi_hostadapter
something like:
'alias scsi_hostadapter imm'
would be the syntax, but I've no idea if that is
correct for your
system.
I take it this is for a zip drive?

You are correct, a zip 250 w/parallel connection.

You might try a google search for
imm
and modules.conf to get the correct entries.

My best guess at this point is that /etc/modules.conf
got corrupted.
You
moved it out of the way, and replaced it with a good
copy.

But how? How did it become corrupted? I still am
trying to understand that?

thanks

Sendmail
all together (q on the keyboard)?

I just (want) to become very familiar with the
keyboard commands.

Hi Chris,
I think there is some basic confusion here -
You want to know how to read and respond to your
email? You want to
know
what commands you use from the keyboard to do these
things? Correct
so far?

Correct, for example at the prompt, I type 'mail' and
it either takes me to my user's mailbox or it says, no
mail...this is Sendmail running, correct?

Ok here is some vocabulary: (off the top of my head
so be skeptical)
MUA- Mail user agent - the program you use to read
your email and
send out
emails, examples are mutt elm, pine Eudora, outlook
etc.. This is
the
program you use all the time and the program you
think of as my
email
program

MDA - mail delivery agent - procmail, formail (I
think.) The program
that
puts the email in your mail spool file or your email
mail box. You
will
probably never even know that this program is running
and will
probably never
interact with it.

MTA - mail transport agent - the program that
delivers emails between
systems
across a LAN and across the internet (also within a
system, but thats
a minor
aspect)

Sendmail, is an MTA (so are Qmail and Postfix, I
think),
Chris you should never see sendmail from your
keyboard prompt unless
you are
trying to diagnose some problems with your mail
delivery.

Unless I'm mistaken I think you want to know how to
use an MUA, i.e.
you want to use an email program to read and write
email?

Right, sort of, I want to become a bit better at using
the Sendmail that I have running by default on my
machine. And I would like to setup Postfix later.

But for example, I send an email to my yahoo account,
and then I can respond back to it, why is that?

thanks

Basic Sendmail Commands?

I've googled around for this, but I cannot find just
basic keyboard commands for Sendmail. This would
really help me out.

Can anyone recommend any websites for this?

When /etc/modules.conf goes bad?

2003-03-16 Thread CM Miller

yesterday I posted to this list that my modules.conf
got screwed up somehow and someway.

I could not cat the file, so I used vim and saw this

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias eth0 3c59x
alias usb-controller usb-ohci
alias sound-slot-0 trident
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f
/etc/.aumixrc -L /dev/null 21 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f
/etc/.aumixrc -S /dev/null 21 || :
alias sound-slot-1 emu10k1
post-install sound-slot-1 /bin/aumix-minimal -f
/etc/.aumixrc -L /dev/null 21 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-1 /bin/aumix-minimal -f
/etc/.aumixrc -S /dev/null 21 || :
alias /proc/scsi/imm
alias /proc/scsi/parport
alias /lib/modules/2.4.18-26.8.0/kernel/fs/ntfs

What the hell are the post-install and pre-remove
mean?

Anyway, I backed the file up, deleted those lines and
then rebooted. All came out fine.

How in the hell did that happen? I only added the
ntfs modules a few weeks ago, so I am still scratching
me head over this and would like to learn from this
experience.

thanks

You can't cat a text file? What was the result of
trying?

If I cat the backup copy of modules.conf, it pukes out
as garbage.

I could VI the file just fine though.

Once I removed those extra lines, then it was ok.

 alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
 alias eth0 3c59x
 alias usb-controller usb-ohci
 alias sound-slot-0 trident
 post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f

 alias /proc/scsi/imm
 alias /proc/scsi/parport
 alias /lib/modules/2.4.18-26.8.0/kernel/fs/ntfs

What the hell are the post-install and pre-remove
 mean?

Those lines are normal, they save and restore mixer
settings.

What lines? I'm talking about the pre-remove and
post-install...those can't be normal...cause once I
removed them, then all modules loaded back ok.

 alias /proc/scsi/imm
 alias /proc/scsi/parport
 alias /lib/modules/2.4.18-26.8.0/kernel/fs/ntfs

THey work fine now and load these modules, unless you
can give a better example.

The 3 lines above are invalid, I believe.
alias takes the form of alias alias_name result

Anyway, I backed the file up, deleted those lines
and
then rebooted. All came out fine.

Which, the mixer lines? They shouldn't have caused
any problem.

I believe that they did, I removed them and things
were then ok.

How in the hell did that happen? I only added the
ntfs modules a few weeks ago, so I am still
scratching
me head over this and would like to learn from this
 experience.

Had you rebooted since adding the ntfs line to
/etc/modules.conf?

Yes, I just rebooted again and everything loaded fine.

I still do not understand what happened here which
caused it to screw up.

Modules Dropped?

2003-03-15 Thread CM Miller

Running RH 8.0 box, and I installed Fluxbox last
night. That installed ok, but upon reboot, I get an
error message with /etc/modules.conf.

Started X and could not get my internet connection.
Checked loopback and /sbin/ifconfig, all is well.

Then I started to think about the error messages and
did lsmod and there are only two modules listed,
instead of the usual amount.

Why did this happened? And how do i know what I had
so I can reload them?

Lock Screen Option Not Working?

This is kind of a weird question.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Is there a way to fix it?

I do this Mozilla outputs something about PSM.
Can anyone give me more info. on this and how to

The https support for mozilla is in the mozilla-psm
package.
Install that rpm and you should be good to go.

Emmanuel

Thanks for the reply, I just apt-get the package and
installed it and now I am able to log into https
sites.

I wasn't sure if it came by default with Mozilla or
not.

Using Traceroute

2003-03-08 Thread CM Miller

As root, if I use the command traceroute, for example
I type:

traceroute -l olug.org

The only output I get is:

1 * * *
2 * * *
3 * * *
4 * * *

Why does it do this and why am I not able to see the
ip addresses?

Iptables does not startup but if I do iptables -l,

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# iptables -L
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

I've not fooled with iptables, so I am not sure what
this means, but all I want to do is get some output
that I can understand when using traceroute.

Yes the computer is connected to a network, which is
mine, and I do have a linksys router/firewall, but I

Even simple command like root

traceroute olug.org

still get

3 * * *
4 * * *
5 * * *
6 * * *

?

hi chris,

a few things. what does the -l option stand for ? try
using
traceroute
without any options.

if your computer is connected in a network which is
administered by
someone else, make sure they dont have a firewall. to
check this you
can
first do a traceroute to one of the machines in the
network. if that
works
then you probably are behind a firewall.

cheers,
rahul.

Traceroute from linux goes on udp ports unlike
tracert from windows
(I
think this one from windows uses icmp)
Maybe you have those udp ports blocked from your
firewall

These are the upd ports for traceroute (from linux)

If you're either sharing that box on the network, or
using that box
to
access shares on the network, why would it matter if
you had NTFS
compiled into the kernel or not?

If you're accessing a share on that machine from a
linux box, it
wouldn't matter what file system it had - NTFS or
otherwise - it's a
shared network drive, hence readable.

Vice-versa - if you're accessing shares on the linux
box from the
Win2k
machine, it wouldn't matter what the file system is -
it's a network
share hence accessible.

Aside from that, there is an NTFS module available on
Freshmeat.net
that
requires nothing from you other than to install the
RPM without any
magic tricks.

Stephen Kuhn [EMAIL PROTECTED]

So if I am understaind you correctly, I DO NOT need
NTFS to share files across my network either with

rpm questions

2003-02-28 Thread CM Miller

Is anyone using apt-get for rpms in RH 8.0?

Whenever I issue the following command, I get a
strange error:

apt-get install foo

warning: cannot get exclusive lock on
/var/lib/rpm/Packages

What does this mean? All of these directories do
exist.

Also, I am trying to get either Cygwin or TightVNC
installed on my RH 8.0 machine. I've installed
TightVNC-server, having problems with it and see my
output below.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] vnc_unixsrc]# rpm -qa | grep
tightvnc-server
tightvnc-server-1.2.8-1

error: package tightvnc.server-1.2.8-1 is not
installed

Any way to fix this?

thanks

not me, but apt-get on debian is great :) (I only run

is that on a network filesystem?

Well I have Samba and NFS working but not configured
properly, but I don't really understand the question.

why would you install cygwin on a linux machine

Um, I don't know, is installing Cygwin bad?

try

rpm -e tightvnc-server-1.2.8-1 note the dash between

not a period.

NTFS Module

2003-02-20 Thread CM Miller

The NTFS module does not come with RH 8.0, correct?

I just want to make sure before I download load it and
installed it.

http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/index.html

And, all you can do once the module is loaded, is
read, not write, correct?

Is anyone using NTFS in their kernel? If so, how is
it?

I am going to add this so I can use it with my Samba
setup.

Re: How to load modules automatically in RH 8.0?

2003-02-19 Thread CM Miller

Sorry to not write back sooner, but I added the
modules under rc.local and they loaded just fine.

What is better? Load the modules under rc.local or
modules.conf?

thanks

-Chris

Syntax problem here.
An alias takes the form of:
(From my /etc/modules.conf)

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias sound-slot-0 emu10k1
alias char-major-226 radeon
alias eth0 bcm4400

Even so, I don't know that the proper alias will
cause the module to
load
unless something calls for it.

You could just add a line or 2 in /etc/rc.local

I do this to force my agpgart module to load, passing
a required
option.
$ cat /etc/rc.local
#!/bin/sh

touch /var/lock/subsys/local
modprobe agpgart agp_try_unsupported=1

There are two files:

modules.conf~

I want to automatically load parport and imm. I added

two aliases.

alias imm
alias parport

then rebooted

Both failed to load and I had to use modprobe to get
them to load.

Why did this fail and why do I have two files? Is one
a swap file?

If I do Alt + F1 I get the start menu.

Yes I do realize if I do Ctrl + Alt + F1 it takes me

What I want to know is how come I can't switch

It's ctrl + F1 that switches desktops. ctrl+Alt+Fx
switches

Failure = 8.0 RH Upgrade/Install

2003-01-12 Thread CM Miller

insert rant here

I've downloaded RH 8.0 ISOs images from Linux ISO,
burned them, and then tested them. All was well.

My LUG, OLUG had its installfest yesterday and after I
finished helping a few folks with their systems, I
decided to upgrade mine.

First, I used the iso that I burned in the gui mode.
It keeps timing out on the when installing the GCC
libs. Ok, so I try text mode. Same story. Then I tried
usign Apt-Get Dist-Install command and that seemed to
work, but there were too many dependencies issues.

So I wiped out what I had after backing up all of the
important stuff and tried fresh. Same problem, timing
out when installing the GCC libs.

So, I whipped out the ISOs for Mandrake 9.0 that was
the main install for our installfest and that sucker
installed in less than 10 minutes.

So why did Red Hat fail so bad and Mandrake win with
the greatest of easy when it came to the install? If
others are having as much problems as me, and I'm
really not much of a newbie right now, Redhat is going
to lose way more ground.

Also, a guy brought in a Knoppix
and that kicks ass. A great way to get more people
interested in Linux without having to install.

BTW, even as I write this, I am downloading the ISOs
for Debian. I figured what the hell, I am ready to
move on.

/end rant here

Re: starting SSHD automatically?

2003-01-03 Thread CM Miller

Well, you want the alias to go in /etc/rc.d/rc3.d and
the script /etc/rc.d/init.d. Life would have been
simpler had you installed the
RPM. Which RH are you running? Most since 6.2 (I
think, maybe earlier) install this by default.

JAV

When I ran 7.1 the rpm for openssh ran fine, when I
upgraded to 7.3 it got completely hosed, and made my
life a living hell, so I gave up and installed the tar
package.

Re: RH for server

If you deploy 7.3 or 8.0, you will need to upgrade
before the end
of the year because Red Hat has announced the
end-of-life of both 7.3
and 8.0 for Dec 31. That means no more security or
any other RHN upgrades after that date.

Re: Cannot Mount Thumbdrive and Zip250 at the sametime

2002-12-20 Thread CM Miller

 mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /mnt/zip

This should work. Check that the partition on the
zip drive is
really sda4 by running the command fdisk -l
/dev/sda .

The zip250 drive mounts aok, it is the thumbdrive that
doesn't.

For the thumdrive, I use the following:
 mount -t vfat /dev/sda /mnt/thumbdrive

This won't work. For one thing, the sd?? devices
indicates scsi
drives. For another /dev/sda is not a partition but
a disk.
You will not be able to mount it.

Emmanuel

So what do I have to do to get this sucker to work? I
haven't found much info. out on the web to do it. But
what I had before worked and now that the zip mounts,
the thumbdrive doesn't.

I have made the proper entries in /etc/fstab

mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /mnt/zip

to get the scripts to run under cron.daily, you don't
get to specify
when they run except via /etc/crontab

runparts will buzz the cron.daily directory at the
time specified in
/etc/crontab and attempt to run all files located in
cron.daily.

simply place your commands in an executable file in
cron.daily.

stops with this fuller error message:

Re: python not found / mozilla question (SarahTF)

Not a stupid question, what is stupid is that my local
lug, http://www.olug.org, had some howtos on adding
plugins for Mozilla, and now I can't find it. Very
useful.

Trying doing a search on Mozilla's website or google
for more info on how to add those, or check out the
plug-ins website for Linux info.

For example: I've just added Real Audio to my Linux
box and can listen to streaming audio now. Here is
the url to get u started:

http://forms.real.com/real/player/unix/unix.html?src=112002realhome_1

Once you get them installed, you can double-check
them by going on the menu bar:

/help/about-plug-ins

and Mozilla will give output if it worked or not.

thanks

to fail from two machines on my network?

-Chris Miller

On Monday 11 February 2002 09:06, you said something
about:
I don't believe that I have ipchains or iptables
running on both of my machines. Could I use ps -ef
|
grep ipchains to find it? I tried that I couldn't
get
any output, plus I did dmesg | more and went thru
the
 startup script looking for something.

Well, it isn't at the process level so you can't see
it that way.
Ipchains/iptables are kernel modules.

Do ipchains -L to list the rules currently in place.
(or iptables -L)

Now I do have a Linksys Firewall/Router that I use
to
connect my machine to a cable modem, do you think
that
is preventing me from getting ssh to work?

Unlikely. It should not block traffic on your LAN.
Only block
connections
from the outside.

 CM,

On Monday 11 February 2002 11:29, you said something
 about:
Is there a problem with SSH on RH7.1?

I can't SSH into another machine on my network,
 but I
can SSH using Loopback 127.0.0.1, and I can SSH
 into a
machine that is located physically miles away. I
 know
the ips are listed in the hosts.allows files and
 the
SSH is running by pstree -p, but I can't figure
 this
  out either.

I do ssh -v [EMAIL PROTECTED] and it cannot
 make
a connection on port 22, but I check the ports and
 it
  is ok and running...

very weird, and I can't figure this out...?

Did you configure a firewall at install time?

The default blocks just about everything. If the
 machine is reletively safe
(not connected to the net or already behind a
 firewall) try doing...

 ipchains -F (sans quotes)

and see if the connection problems go away.

If so, it is your firewall blocking your access. You
 can run lokkit to open
 port 22 up.

To reactivate the firewall, do service ipchains
 start.

G++?

2002-02-10 Thread CM Miller

Running RH 7.1 w/2.4.2 kernel and installed G++ from
the CDROM and installed ok and can get the MAN pages
but when I go to compile a simple Hello World
program and a simple Celsius Program, I always get
this output error, parse error before ';'

I consulted some of the G++ webpages and the MAN pages
but I have no idea how to troubleshoot this, can
anyone offer any advice?

thanks,

-Chris

I tried what you advised and even copied your source
code word for word for hello.cpp and got this error
output:

 g++ hello.cpp -o hello
hello.cpp:11: parse erroe before ';'

 Likely just before a ; ;)

To troubleshoot, you need to check your source code.
 The gcc supplied by RH
requires ANSI C++ compliance (at least more so then
 some other versions of
gcc), so you may find source that doesn't compile
 out-of-the-box if it was
not written to comply with the ANSI standard.

Also, if you are cut-and-pasting from tutorials on
 web pages, be aware that
there can sometimes be characters that will cause
 all kinds of problems when
doing so. It is not a guaruntee, but it can happen.

This compiles fine on my system using a simple g++
 hello.cpp -o hello (sans
 quotes).

 #include iostream.h

 int main ()
 {
   cout  Hello World;

   return 0;
 }

Upgrading Mozilla RPM from 0.7 to 0.9.5

2001-11-24 Thread CM Miller

On Fri, 23 Nov 2001 13:37:53 -0800 (PST)
CM Miller [EMAIL PROTECTED] implied:

   Whooppsss...my mistake...so sorry
Now when I use rpm -Uvh mozilla* I get...
  error: failed dependencies
 libmsgbaseutil.so is needed by
Mozilla-mail-0.7-0-15
I'm sure this is a dependency issue, correct? Is
there any websites that I can read up on this on how
to troubleshoot this? I've tried to install Gabber
chat client and I get the same types of errors.
  thanks

OK. That means you currently have
mozilla-mail-0.7-whatever
installed.
Do you have an RPM for 0.9.5 in the directory of what
you wish to
upgrade? If not, you need to download it also and try
again, or 'rpm
-e
mozilla-mail' and then try again. Which you choose
will depend on
whether you want to keep mozilla-mail installed.

That's what the error is saying. It means you have an
older
mozilla-mail
installed, you don't have a new one in the updates,
the old one won't
be
uninstalled without a new one to install, and the old
one needs a lib
that no longer exists in the new package.

Now, all of that presumes things work right. Mostly
they do.
Sometimes
they don't. If you have everything and it's giving you
the error, you
can still issue 'rpm -e mozilla-mail' and then rpm
-Uvh everything
and
make it all work.

I never used the older mozilla stuff so I can't be
sure. But
sometimes
things change around enough to confuse the RPM system.
This could be
one
of those. Another one you'll probably see eventually
is when you try
to
upgrade from an RPM with a version number to one with
a higher
number,
and get told that the lower-numbered version is newer.
I always just
uninstall the old one (with --nodeps if needed) and
then install the
new
one when this happens.

So do I have the rpm in the wrong directory? I
currently have it in my home directory where I created
a directory for it, or does it need to go under var,
bin or usr?

So if I can't get this to install, how do I uninstall
the current rpm for Mozilla 0.7 and install 0.9.5?

thanks,

-Chris

Basic Network Questions for Linux

2001-11-18 Thread CM Miller

I am very familiar with networking with Windows, but
now I have somewhat a network setup under linux, and
want to make sure I am doing things right.

Here is the description:

Cable modum connected to Linksys Router that has a
Class C ip address that has my cable modum DNS and IP
configured. Then I connect to two machines one dual
boot running Windows 2000/RH 7.1 and the other one
just running 7.1.

I know about netcfg command, but was wondering what
machine I assign an ip address to? @home assigned
192.168.X.XX to me but do I take that and assign it to
each machine, for example: one machine gets
192.168.10.1 and 192.168.10.2?

The funny thing is that for my dual boot machine, I
had to go and modify
etc/syscconfig/network-scrips/ifcfg-eth0 and put in
the machines' name, but for my second machine I didn't
do anything and it is able to use the web? Can anyone
explain this?

thanks again,

-Chris

@home assigned
192.168.X.XX to me

Oh, really? Is ATT using NAT now? That's not a
routable address,
so if that's really your external IP address, they've
changed the way
they do things since I last dealt with them.

- -d

That IP address is assigned by Linksys, not @home or
Cox. Some sort of private class C address.
