My husband gets them every fall and they usually last off and on all winter.
This time I used a Q-tip to apply the silver and they were gone in about 2
days. He's not a great one for these types of remedies so he only let me
apply it once. Because of the fast recovery he is beginning to come around:)

Re: CSsymptom question

2007-11-17 Thread Paula Perry
Kathryn,
Joint pain and stiffness (especially this time of year) sounds like
arthritis to me. Most all Americans are deficient in magnesium. Stiffness
and aching muscles are an indication of a shortage. I have been reading
about magnesium oil of late, and just bought some the other day for my
husband. I got some of the oil and also some of the bath crystals. The
oil really isn't an oil even though they call it that. It soaks in, in about
10 minutes and doesn't feel too oily. I tried it yesterday. It is trandermal
application of magnesium, so the body is supposedly much better able to
absorb it. I tried it on an aching leg and I could feel the difference.

 Good Morning all,

I have been able to successfully up my CS intake to where I can take
about 4 oz 2 or 3 times a day without setting off my throat, and I am
feeling all right too, esp with the leak in the kitchen addressed.

Now I am having joint pains, and stiffness. Not the teeny tiny joints
in my fingers, which indicates mold toxins, or other biotoxins, but my
 shoulders, elbows, etc.

I would like to know if this could be a die off symptom from whatever
it is i am killing off in here, or if it is probably unrelated. And if
there is something specific I could be doing. I already do some sweat
baths every couple of days, with salt.

 Thanks,

 Kathryn

CSCS and fish

2007-11-17 Thread Terry Chamberlin
Recently a friend called to enthusiastically report
this: He has a couple of those large fish tanks full
of expensive, exotic fish. One of the fish was sick,
sluggish and covered with a grey film, eyes starting

were clear and the grey film was gone.

Cool.

I question that a bit. ( not your statement, the way it is worded it is
excellent )

I used to have them years ago.

There was one B vitamin, if taken as soon as it is felt, the blister is
felt, it never materialized. ( so long ago, I do not remember the name )

Maybe B6, Pyroxdine.

Of course if you mean, after it has become a sore, then I would agree.

I say that as soon as I feel that first unique feeling, I have a cold
sore. Is that case, I can't see that CS or anything else could do any
better than the vitamin always did for me. Now, I would likely use both,
and drink a quart also.

Of course some magic something eliminated them all years ago.
And it was not CS because I knew nothing about it.

My GF used it as they first started tingling and they didn't
emerge..just went away.

Yes, that is the time to do something.
Most people drag around and wait till they have a real sore.

I noticed that you stopped having them also. Guess we found a magic
combination of a few things.

Despite what some people claim, it *is* possible to take enough CS to
disrupt your intestinal flora. In general it doesn't, because silver is
mostly inactive in the semi-solid medium of the intestinal contents,
but with enough for long enough you can disrupt things.

I did this once or twice, and had aches in my back, the large muscles
of my thighs and calves, and so on. Overall it just hurts to move
kind of achiness.

I happened to read that malabsorption of key minerals, notably calcium,
is one of the consequences of destroying the flora, and the symptoms I
was having were associated with an acute calcium deficiency. With that
in mind, I was able to reverse the aches and pains with a single glass
of calcium supplemented orange juice from the grocery store. Literally
within a half hour the worst of the pain was gone.

Now, that's probably not the cleverest way to reverse the problem, and
others can certainly suggest better supplement regimens, but the idea
may be worth investigating. *IF* this is what you've done, you'll need
to start restoring your flora and electrolyte balance with some
probiotics and mineral supplements.

One thing to think about...

Be well,

Re: CSCS and fish

2007-11-17 Thread M. G. Devour
I'm glad to hear that, Terry!

That sounds like the most appropriate way to treat a fish... I imagine
as long as the bowl of water is at about the right temperature there
should be minimal shock to the fish.

I like the idea of a few minutes in straight CS, then returning it to
the tank. I know from my one experiment that dosing a quarantine jar
with small quantities of CS wasn't aggressive enough, as well as it
being extremely hard to maintain healthy water conditions in a small
volume. The patient did not survive. sigh

One thing that is always important to remember: Do NOT put CS in an
established aquarium or pond, as it will destroy the bacterial colonies
in the gravel, soil, and filters which are essential to maintaining
healthy water conditions. First, the death of the bacteria will dump a
huge load of decaying matter into the water, and second, there won't be
any bacteria left to process the fish wastes into less harmful
subtances. Things will quickly spiral out of control.

Thanks for the success report. Tell them it was a good trial and we
appreciate it.

Be well,

Mike D.

CSFiltering medium for fluoride??

2007-11-17 Thread gvagraphics
Ode,

What filtering medium can you suggest for filtering fluoride. I'm in sourthern
CA and they are starting to fluoridate our water supply. My concern is bathing
and showering -- drinking water is an easier matter to deal with.

Some time ago someone suggested Diatomacious earth as a likely filter medium
(not for filtering fluoride).

The net suggests Activated Alumina -- not to sure about using Alumina to filter
water for showering -- then again something call Alum is used in the water
treatment area and has been for many years -- is there a connection?

There are small filters available for shower heads -- I can't see them doing
much for long. Our water has a TDS reading of 400 not exactly for making CS.
Not sure what the PWT reading is!

I'd like to cobble together a pre-filter array of say 4 x 48 inch (4 black PVC
pipes) filled with a fine granular filtering medium -- a final finer filter
into the hot and cold water pipes -- a commercial system will cost 5-600 bucks
(a maybe 24 inch metal cylinder and you don't know what they are using as
filter medium!!! Obviously I'd be perpared to maintain the unit closely and
renew the medium -- being well armed with a TDS and PWT meter!

Of course I have to wonder if my array of 4 x 48 inch pipes will take the
pressure of an incoming town water system -- that I can research myself!

I use Albertsons distilled water for my Bob Berger constructed CS-EIS Maker.

Any suggestions Listers -- Thanks

Re: CSFiltering medium for fluoride??

2007-11-17 Thread Clayton Family
I would suggest trying to find some other pipe than PVC- that stuff is
not good for you, and can cause cancer. Polyethylene is pretty inert as
far as plastic goes, but am not sure they make pipes out of it.

Activated alumina is used as a mechanical filter much the same way as
charcoal, and maybe zeolites. See Wikipedia:

Activated alumina is manufactured from aluminium hydroxide by
dehydroxylating it in a way that produces a highly porous material;
this material can have a surface area significantly over 200 square
metres/g. The compound is used as a desiccant (to keep things dry by
absorbing water from the air) and as a filter of fluoride, arsenic and
selenium in drinking water. It is made of aluminium oxide (alumina;
Al2O3), the same chemical substance as sapphire and rubies (but without
the impurities that give those gems their color). It has a very high
surface-area-to-weight ratio. That means it has a lot of very small
pores, almost like tunnels, that run throughout it.

Alum is a different animal.

I used to hail from So Cal- my town was floridated years ago.

CSVaccination and AIDS

2007-11-17 Thread Jonathan B. Britten
The topic of vaccinations has come up repeatedly on this list. I
highly recommend this video to all interested in the topic:

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18741.htm

This lasts 90 minutes that fly by in an instant. At approximately
from 17:00 into the film, note that although modern DNA techniques
allow new and safe vaccines, pharm companies persist in using methods
that have been proven to have infected countless persons who took the
polio vaccine with simian virus.

This is an essential reference work that makes clear the Royal Society
investigation into the topic was a high-level coverup -- a farce.
In time I think this will be proven, to the great discredit of
respectable science as an institution. Most of the credit for this
goes to one researcher, Ed Hooper, who gave 17 years of his life to the
effort.

I heard about the epsom salt treatment on Dr. Mike's show over a year ago. He
was telling about a lady naturopath that told this should you want to get rid
of arthritis. You take 1/2 teas. epsom salt in aprx 1/2 cup warm water every
night before bed and this would loosen the toxins in the joints. It does work
like a lazative but evidently what is in there has to come out. LOL

Linda,

In the early 1970s, I had experience with a couple of examples of
body repair that might interest you.

But first, let me say they involve the use of a mental technology
called Dianetics. Dianetics is a forerunner of Scientology. The
Church of Scientology appears to me to be a cult. I would not go near
it with a ten foot pole. There are para scientology centers across
the globe that aren't affiliated with the Church of Scientology. If
what I write interests you, find one of them. google: Freezone
Scientology Dianetics

In 1970 John Brodie was the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers,
a professional football team. He was thinking that he would have to
retire because his shoulder was so painful. His secretary convinced
him to go see a friend of mine about the shoulder. My friend worked
with John for several months. In that time John's shoulder became OK
again. This was also the year he was voted Most Valuable Player in
the league.

Around about 1973, I had a friend, whose mother was in her mid 40s.
She was completely bedridden with systemic arthritis. She couldn't
get out of bed to go to the bath room. I was a part of a three way
approach to helping her reassert health. She had a major change of
diet, acupuncture, and Dianetic counseling from me. Within 18 months
she was jogging a two mile path near her house.

plastic pipe, not to be confused with also common rigid DWV (drain waste

two grades; utility and drinking water, in sizes from 1/2 to 2

Hope this helps, Malcolm

CSRe: CS Fever Blisters

2007-11-17 Thread patriot2000

My topic is not exactly fever
blisters, but another malady of the lips/mouth that is painful and
annoying -- cracks at the corner of the mouth. My spouse and I used
to get them every winter, and they hurt when anything acid gets into
them, such as salad dressing. We just put up with them, not knowing
anything to try, except creams, which did nothing.
I read that they were related to a diet deficiency, one of the B
vitamins. After we improved our diets, we no longer got them.
But a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that a neighbor had bad cracks at
the corners of her mouth, clearly very uncomfortable. I told her
about the B vitamins and zinc remedy I had just looked up on the internet
for her problem, but also gave her some CS to put on the sores a couple
of times a day. Told her to just put some on a cotton ball and hold
it against the sores for a few minutes. In less than two days, one
side was nearly healed; two or three days later, the second was also
well.
She told me she told her doctor the creams he had given her had not
helped, but that she cured the problem with CS and he was most surprised,
replying Well, I'll be darned! Guess they didn't
teach him about CS in medical school, huh? Nice that he
didn't just reply that it must have been a coincidence, though, as some
might have.
