I think Nattokinase is often used in conjunction with serrapeptase, but
have no idea how much or what frequency or whether taken at the same
time.
Take care,

CSSerrapeptase Dosage and My Personal Experience

2011-07-09 Thread Steve G

Just wanted to add in my recent experience.  The day I read a post on
the CS list about Serrapeptase is the day I ran out to the health food
store and bought a bottle.   I've been taking 40,000 IU twice a day now
for almost two weeks.

My personal priority has been my blood
pressure.   A number of years ago my doctor put me on 25 mg (a modest
dose) of Toprol XL, a beta blocker.  It did a good job of  bringing my
blood pressure down from approx. 150/95 down to 120/70.  Time has
marched on and I continue to take the stuff as it appears to be a
lifelong habit once started.   In the last six months I have been paying
closer attention to my bp, discovering that it has gradually continued
to worsen and was around 160/95 approx. occasionally going 'much
higher.'

I was worried about it but hadn't yet
gone to my doc for an increase to my prescription.  This was my frame of mind
when I started taking this supplement.

It's
been about two weeks now, and in the last few days I have seen numbers
regularly in the 140's/ 80's.  This morning I came in at 136/80.

I
know this is unreliable anectdotal evidence, but it's pretty compelling
to me.  I think the Serrapeptase is doing its job for me!

I am indebted to the silver list.  Without this tip I know what direction I
would have been headed.  I think I'm now on the right path.

Yesterday,
my mail order arrived, with a bottle of 90 capsules of 120,000 iu
each.   I won't be taking more than one of THESE capsules a day.

CSSerrapeptase Dosage

2011-07-07 Thread Kathryn Neff
Have been reading with interest about Serrapeptase and I ordered the 10 mg to
start off small. I am 75, have no health problems and take no medication, but
felt this would be a good preventative and allow for healthier arteries. My
question is I see on the bottle...(Vitamin Research Products) that it
recommends taking a capsule three times a day.I was thinking about taking
one capsule a day to begin with to see how the body reacted. Is it possible
that one capsule per day would be so low that it would not have any effect?

Any advice from those of you who have been taking Serrapeptase would be greatly
appreciated.

Hi Kathy.  I think that you should take the amount that *you* feel comfortable
with.  You can't be wrong taking too little, but you can certainly be wrong
taking too much.  I think that if you start off with one capsule a day, and
have
no adverse reactions, then you could comfortably double up to two capsules per
day, and build on from there.

Good luck to you -- and good on you for taking your own initiative for good
health!  :-)

Marshall, thank you so much for your response. That is exactly what I wanted
to know, and was worried about, my blood pressure getting too low if I took
both together. What is the dosage you wife is or was taking? I have ordered a
dose of 20,000 UL, as that is what seems to be recommended. Do you remember
how soon your wife found out she needed to cut back on her BP meds? Has she
since had the need to go back on them? Is she still taking the Serrapeptase?
I forwarded my doctor information on Serrapeptase and, of course, he had never
heard of it and is doing some research. Regardless, I still plan to take it
and I want his cooperation in monitoring and my use of the product.

Marshall, your post has greatly relieved my mind, as I felt like I was feeling
my way and operating in the dark.. Thank you so much. If anyone else has any
experiences they want to share, I would surely appreciate it.

Re: CSSerrapeptase

2011-06-26 Thread Ross Craig
Jim,

bringing down my bp has been an effort spanning the last fifteen or more years.
it was discovered long ago (i am 68) when i was first diagnosed with gout, and
in the emerg for that.

the attending dr said normally they would not release anyone with as high a bp
as i had, but she did anyway.

that's when i started on a long period of taking different and increasing bp
drugs. they reduced my bp to the 135/75 area, and that's what i have had for
the last several years.

after all the discouusions on serrapeptase i sourced mine from Vitamin Research
Products. i have the 10 mg or 10,000 unit caps. i thought it would reduce the
stroke and heart attack risk by removing plaque from veins and arteries. i have
no proof that has occured, but the lowered bp is actual and i will drop the
diuretic soon, and then the 4mg of coversyl after that if bp does not rise
again.

the main reason i believe it is the serrapeptase that has lowered is that i am
doing nothing else new.

as for dosage, the label says to take one three times a day but i do two at
night.

This is my first post to the group; and I must say it's a very informative
one.

There's plenty of information about this enzyme which is often taken in
combination with nattokinase. They basically work by dissolving dead matter,
clots, and other things that restrict blood flow.

An increasing number of systematic enzymes are now incorporating the above 2
enzymes to address a host of inflammatory, circulation and fibrosis issues.
One that I use is here:

Ross,

Thank you.

How much C do you take?

Have you seen Linus Pauling's work on C and vascular health?

CSSerrapeptase

2011-06-25 Thread MaryAnn Helland
Someone here on our list has reported that they took Serrapeptase excessively
and caused themself to have a stroke.  Could I ask that person a question
please?  Can you tell me how much Serrapeptase you took?

I'm asking because my brother is having mini-strokes due to plaque due to
Diabetes.  I think Serrapeptase would help him, but I can only find 90,000 iu
capsules.  That's what I take, but I'm worried that may be too high an amount
for someone already having stroke issues.

Any input will be appreciated.

It was me. I took it to clean the plaque in my pipes. Dosage was
supposed to be 20,000 units daily. Thinking If some is good, more is
better i TOOK 300,000 units daily. Only took two weeks and I stroked.
I can't tell any difference but my wife swore she could see it when it
happened six years ago. A CT scan showed I had lost my right temporal
lobe. I feel 99+% OK mentally but my hearing is a bit toasted.

2011-06-25 Thread Ross Craig
This post induced me to take my blood pressure, something i have been
controlling for a dozen years with drugs.

When I say control, the one drug plus a diuretic, brought me down from 185/80
and sometimes much worse, to the 135/75 area and my doctor was happy, sort of ,
with that.

A long time ago, here on this list, there were a lot of discussions about
serrapeptase, including Trem's difficulties. Marshall had reported a lot of
success with it, so I did my own research and started with 10,000 units and
then about four months ago raised that to 40,000.

I don't know what it's done for my overall health but i do feel great.

And I was stunned just now to find my bp 121/63 in one arm and 116/61 in the
other.

Batteries are good so I can't blame the machine.

But I can thank Marshall, again. Thanks. Marshall.

This is an interesting topic, and I thought I'd contribute my own recent
experiences. My BP had been creeping up for the past several years, and
nothing much brought it down, never really super high, but in the 130s
to 140s systolic rangewell for the past 3 months or so I have
been following Ray Peat's eating program as much as I am able with my
food and other allergies, and checking my BPs lately I am back down in
the teens again...I believe this to be due to his recommendation
to reduce polyunsaturated fats to as low as possible a level, he doesn't
even like fish oils or fatty fish. My blood sugars are lower and quite
stable, even though I am eating sugar and fructose again. It is quite
amazing. Temps are getting to 98.3 in the am too. I plan to stick with
this and see how it pans out over the longer term.

this is just my own experience,
YMMV,

CSSerrapeptase

2011-06-25 Thread Judy Harnett
I have been following this thread with great interest. I, too, would like to
get off my blood pressure meds, but my doctor says no way, that there is
nothing out there that will keep my blood pressure down. My question is, when
do you stop taking the blood pressure meds after starting Serrapeptase? Can
you safely take both together, or does one just stop all blood pressure meds?
I read the testimonials on the site that Trem forwarded and was simply amazed
at all the things that this has helped or cured. I also have spinal stenosis,
which one of the testimonials was about, although not to the points where I am
not functional, but I'd sure like to be able to garden again, and not have to
sit down after about 15 minutes of being on my feet. I'd rather spend the
money I now spend on blood pressure meds on something like this that is
virtually harmless if taken with reasonable care. Please tell me more.

Many thanx,

Judy Harnett

I have been using cayenne for a couple of years,

Started with 1/2 teaspoon in 1/2 glass water

Worked up to 2 teaspoons twice a day.
Give it a try. It's also good for your circulation.

controlling for a dozen years with drugs.

When I say control, the one drug plus a diuretic, brought me down from
185/80 and sometimes much worse, to the 135/75 area and my doctor was happy,
 sort of , with that.

And I was stunned just now to find my bp 121/63 in one arm and 116/61 in
 the other.

Batteries are good so I can't blame the machine.

But I can thank Marshall, again. Thanks. Marshall.

Some say yes, some say no. I initially took a brand without the coating,

A pharmacist told me that capsules are made to dissolve practically

Remember that there can be more than one cause for high blood pressure.
It can be genetic. It can be a problem with hormones, such as excessive
adrenaline production (or anxiety). As far as I know the only cause
which serrapeptase will help is one in which the veins and arteries are
becoming blocked with plaque and cholesterol buildup. It is quite
possible that your pipes are clean, and that the blood pressure is from
something else. I am now taking one Doctor's Best 40,000 a day. Up
until about a few days ago I was taking SerraGold 100,000 (2 a day for 3
weeks, then dropped to one a day for a week, then transferred to the
less expensive Doctor's Best). My wife is still taking the 1 a day of
SerraGold though. According to some sources the SerraGold and others
which are not coated are only 50% effective, so if that is true, I would
have been getting the equivalent of only 50,000 per capsule of coated.
SerraGold also contained 80,000 units of Protease, which could have
maybe had an effect as well, I really don't know.

I have been taking the Serrapeptase since last Thanksgiving, starting with one

OK, here is a follow up on this.

The doctor took my wife off of the high blood pressure medicine last Thursday.
Mind you she had been on high blood pressure for over 30 years! Her pressure
then stabilized at between 110/70 and 120/80 which is way below the expected
pressure of someone her age (150 is average), and in fact would be considered
excellent for someone in their early 20's. Mine has gone down about 20 mm/m as
well, and is now in the same range.

So before starting the serrapeptase she was running about 140/90 with her blood
pressure medicine. After about 4 weeks of taking it her pressure had dropped to
around 95-100/55-60 and she was fainting and really tired all the time. After
stopping her blood pressure medicine she is now running 110/70 to 120/80, and
says she is feeling better than she has in years. Both her and my stamina has
increase significantly.

2009-09-28 Thread Linda Ellis
Well, I'm taking two or three 40,000 IU Doctor's Best Serrapeptase almost
daily, but my BP seems to be sticking in the 140s/90s range, unless I have a
couple of glasses of wine - then it's down to the 115/70 range!

I have been taking the Serrapeptase since last Thanksgiving, starting with one
per day as some people on this list reported that too much could cause
problems.  I kicked it up when Marshall first posted, but it looks like I'll
try kicking it up once again.  Maybe to four 40,000 IU capsules per day, split
into a couple of doses.

Hi, all - well, after Steve's recommendation and further reading, I started on
the Doctor's Best Serrapeptase on Monday, and I've got some questions...

First, I am primarily experimenting to see if the Serrapeptase does anything to reduce skin scarring due to insect bites and tomboy wounds. Has anybody noticed any changes of their own based on use of this? I'm taking two or three capsules spaced out over the day, and I'm wondering how long to wait before I should inspect for any improvements.

Secondly, I'm wondering if some other things I'm experiencing suddenly may be other reactions to the Serrapeptase, as that is the only change I've made this week. First, I know that with some alternatives, the healing process starts with some type of a herx reaction. The last two days, I'm sneezing like crazy, for no apparent reason. I'm wondering if this might be a herx. If so, it's certainly tolerable. The other thing is - delicately speaking - I'm noticing a change in bathroom habits. Everything seems to be starting to move easier, and more frequently, if you get my drift.

If anybody else has experiences to contribute, I'd love to hear them

Could it loosen to much plaque at the beginning I guess is what I was asking?
Would starting at a lower dose and building up be more advisable? Since my

I have used Serrapeptase now, on and off, for years. The brand I am
currently using is Doctor's Best.
One capsule is 40,000 units. The directions say to take up to three a day,
but I always only take one a day and get results. I use them to eliminate
spider veins. It does this beautifully.

I forget who; but, someone on this list (was it Trem?) who overdosed and
caused much medical grief to himself. This is a product you do not want to
overdose on, but instead use with caution. This product really works to
eliminate clogged veins and arteries. If they are in a weakened state, I
can only imagine what would happen. Please google Serrapeptase and read up
on it before you provide it to your husband, especially with by-pass surgery

Maybe the others will chime in here on this.

Dianne,
I have used Serrapeptase now, on and off, for years.  The brand I am currently
using is Doctor's Best.
One capsule is 40,000 units.  The directions say to take up to three a day, but
I always only take one a day and get results.  I use them to eliminate spider
veins.  It does this beautifully.

I forget who; but, someone on this list (was it Trem?) who overdosed and caused
much medical grief to himself.  This is a product you do not want to overdose
on, but instead use with caution.  This product really works to eliminate
clogged veins and arteries.  If they are in a weakened state, I can only
imagine what would happen.  Please google Serrapeptase and read up on it before
you provide it to your husband, especially with by-pass surgery.

Maybe the others will chime in here on this.

When you start taking this supplement is there any danger at starting at full

we weren't taking it.

Could it loosen to much plaque at the beginning I guess is what I was asking?
Would starting at a lower dose and building up be more advisable?  Since my
husband had by-pass surgery we try to be very careful with his supplements.  I
would like to take it for the anti-inflamatory action.  I don't have any
problems that I know of in the artery area.

CSSerrapeptase Spider Veins

2009-08-11 Thread Linda Ellis
Dorothy, can you estimate how long it took on the Doctor's Best (I'm on that,
too, one per day) to see beautiful results on the spider veins.  I should
have taken pics before I started, but I do believe the veins in my legs are
improving - both the tiny spider veins, and I have one more ropey vein in the
calf of each leg which I believe are also improving.  I keep hoping to see some
improvement on a number of scars, but haven't seen that yet - at least not so I
notice.

CSSerrapeptase update....

2009-03-18 Thread Linda Ellis

Just a note to share that I had my bi-monthly dental hygiene appointment
yesterday.  I've been taking one Serrapeptase daily since Thanksgiving, to see
if it did anything for all the old tom-boy scars.  No improvement on that front
yet, but the hygienist commented during the cleaning that the plaque was very
soft and easy to remove, and while I have a couple of spirochetes floating
around, all in all things looked pretty good.

I go to a holistic dentist, and so I finally mentioned my experiment.  I said
that I knew one of the effects of Serrapeptase is supposed to be to dissolve
arterial plaque, and asked if this might also be having a positive effect on
dental plaque.  They were quite interested, and decided to take note of the
situation and pay closer attention in future appointments.  All in all, the
dentist said it's a positive thing to take an enzyme in any event.

I'll keep y'all updated.

CSSerrapeptase update

2009-03-01 Thread Linda Ellis
Just thought I'd let you know of an observation.  My husband asked me the other
day if I had anything around that would help him clear up his morning cough,
which really is just something he does to break up the mucus every morning.
After two nights taking the Serrapeptase, he claims he is much improved.  I'm
not sure if part of it is a placebo effect or not.

Also, I've been taking one a day since Thanksgiving, at bedtime, throwing in an
occasional extra one when I wake up in the morning.  Went to the doctor and had
my BP taken.  I didn't take it when I started the Serrapeptase, but previously
it was running about 140/90.  Had it taken on Friday, and it was 135/84.  I
haven't seen anything below 90 for a long time!  Maybe this is working.

How kool is that, Linda?  Congrats on good news for you both.  Think I'll get
busy and start taking the Serrapeptase that's sitting on my kitchen counter!! I
hope you'll keep posting on this topic as things go along.  MA

Subject: CSSerrapeptase update

CSSerrapeptase, the heart and blood pressure

2009-01-28 Thread Wayne Fugitt

Very Interesting Term,
Lots I could say, but much of it would be Opinions Only,
so I will try to stay with the few facts that I know,
 ( Or think I know )
At 02:05 PM 1/28/2009, you wrote:
Yes, that's why I said it was
me. I was responding to your
post about someone stroking after taking large
amounts
 of serrapeptase.
I took serrapeptase for a time, and Nattokinase as
well.
Not sure why, ... I had no ailment or problem that I was trying to
solve or eliminate.

I still take BP meds to keep it
controlled. Still think Nieper had the right idea. Too bad I
didn't take it easy.
How high is high ? Often high blood pressure does not hurt
anything,
anything at all.

Still hoping it'll clear my blocked carotid and but think the two
chances are slim and none Would be happy if it cleaned
out the small pipes.
Blockage may in fact be a serious
problem, and could contribute
to the higher blood pressure.
But please do not belive the lie,
That high blood pressure causes strokes.
The dumbest engineer in the world, Today, or
Yesterday,
Would not design a piping system that could not

 Stand more
pressure

Than the pump could deliver.
Typically, a normal blood vessel is Ten Times stronger that it needs to
be,
and no heart in the world can BLOW a HOLE in a good blood
vessel.
And Logic says, ..
 Weak, puny,
and damaged blood vessels causes strokes,
but not High Blood Pressure.
Of course at times, Elevated blood pressure is a life saving
maneuver
by the body.
If the brain energy is low, electrolytes are low, the blood pressure
will
go up.
Often the blood pressure goes up, to help the heart itself.
If the heart runs our of energy, one can have a heart
attack,
permanent heart damage or they can DIE, just because there is
no energy for the heart.
Plus the heart cells use energy at two times the energy of any other
cell in the body.
Then If a Bear is after you,
the blood pressure better go up. Yes, Indeed.
It is dangerous to outsmart the Genius Body Chemists.
You can do it, but the results may be disastrous.

Re: CSSerrapeptase experiences, please....

2008-11-29 Thread Linda Ellis
Steve, after your description yesterday about the plaque first, with other
stuff repairing later, I couldn't help but giggle as I imagined the
Serrapeptase granules as a tiny army of PacMen, landing in my stomach
and evaluating my personal health situation.  Okay, guys, first we have to hit
the arterial placque; then we'll go after the junk in the intestines, liver and
kidneys.  Meantime, the triage team will check for suspicious tumors and cells
elsewhere.  The skin scars can wait for now.  Everybody ready?  A-team, you
take the left ventricle, then move into the heart; B, get the carotid; C,
you're on for the femoral.  GO.

It's actually a funny way to think of things, but until I have reason to
believe otherwise, I'm observing these changes and concluding that this is just
part of my own body's way to eliminate the toxins and other trash the
Serrapeptase is digesting.  I am used to the idea that often when you use an
alternative to address a situation, first I get ill and then I get better.

I was interested to learn, Steve, that you're only doing one a day.  The bottle
says one to three, and I've been taking three most days, but now I'll not be
concerned if I miss that middle-of-the-day one and only get them in in the
morning and at bedtime.  Those really are the best times for me to be
consistent with any dosage issues, anyway.
