Can anyone help with MSN
Hello Guys, Has anyone gotten TB to work with msn.com? I can get it to read, but I have not been able to figure out a config that works to get it to send messages. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. -- Best regards, MikeD mailto:miked_...@verizon.net Current version is 4.2.9.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Trouble with SHortcuts
Hello TBUDL, I was looking to assign a shortcut for 'Options', 'Message Format', 'Plain Text' (something like Ctrl-shft-T, for example). But when I go into 'View', 'Toolbar', 'Customize' on a message window, I can only go as far is Message Format. The selections that appear in the Message Format menu are not present in the shortcut display. Does anyone know if there is there a way to get to that option and assign a quick key or am I just OOL? I used Ctrl-Shft-J (for junk ). Then you just highlight the spam messages and use the key code you set up. Other wise you can right click on the selected messages, select specials and then click on 'mark as spam' option. First, just continue to receive mail as you do now and for each spam you find, use the menu Specials - Mark as Spam (I have assigned that to Alt-J (for junk) on my system). It will have assumed everything is "ham" (i.e. non-spam) until you mark it as such, so you don't have to do anything about those. Select all the spam messages the way you would select any messages and once you have them all selected, click on Specials and select "Mark as Spam" from that drop down menu. That is all there is to it. However, a word of caution: with only spam (and no "ham") in the training base, you are likely to get a lot of false positives because there will be lots of "spam" indicators from the spam messages you trained it with, but no (or almost no) offsetting "ham" indicators. You would be better served to wait until you have processed some "ham" mail so that the system will have some indication of what a good message will look like. One idea that someone else suggested was to use your "sent mail" for "ham" training. That might work unless you are like me and get a lot of "news letters", "news items" and the like that are nothing like what I send out Hope that helps. -- Best regards, MikeDmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v2.12.00 on Windows ME 4.90 Build 3000 Current version is 3.00.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Well I don't *know* that you have to do it *every* time. But when I first went from 0.4 something to 0.5 something, I had all sorts of problems until I did the uninstall/wipe things. That may not be required to go from 0.6.0 to 0.6.1, but since it only takes an extra ... maybe 5 minutes to do the cleanup, install and retrain, it seems a small price for a good install. I have it (BayesIt 0.6.1) working on my system. I had some early problems because I installed it over an older version. Did you have an anti spam that you were using in that old "back up" version? You need to be meticulous in removing all traces of the old plug-in. Bayesit 0.5.11
Hello, Just installed Bayesit 0.5.11 and had a couple of problems that I thought I would share. I have managed to work around them, but hopefully it is something that can get fixed in the future. After I deleted all traces of the old version, I installed the new one, then started TB and added the plugin. everything *seemed* to be fine. Next I wanted to start training it with my saved spam, so I highlighted the 2232 spam messages I had saved for training. I watched the little 'status window' count through all those messages and *try* to close the status window. That was as far as things got. The TB and my system hung to the point where C-A-Del was needed to restart the system. End Task did not even work. OK ... so re-boot, remove bayes it and all traces of data, re-install and do the same thing using the 2545 *NON* spam messages and this worked just fine. Go figure. Everything seemed to be fine, so I went back to Spam training. But this time I processed it in blocks of between 300 and 450 messages and everything seemed to work fine. I think this has something to do with trying to move the processed messages from my "holding" folder to the Junk folder. When I did the spam training in those smaller blocks, the processed messages were moved from my "spam archive" folder to the "junk" folder. But when I had tried to process the whole batch at once, nothing was moved. In any event, I now seem to have a working Bayesit -- Best regards, MikeD mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v2.12.00 on Windows ME 4.90 Build 3000 Current version is 2.12.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Anybody know? Hmmm ... does it just ignore those 'lines' in the header? If so, I don't think that will be a problem for me. My Kludges contains: x-spam-checker-version x-spam-level x-spam-report x-spam-status x-uidl And I don't think any of those are causing a problem. -- Best regards, MikeDmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v2.12.00 on Windows ME 4.90 Build 3000 Current version is 2.12.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Well I am guessing that because I had been running the old version of Bayesit earlier in the day, that it continued to use that until I rebooted. I have used several 0.4 versions and they worked great, so I am guessing that I just need to 'fix' a setting somewhere ... or at least I hope that is it -- Best regards, MikeDmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v2.12.00 on Windows ME 4.90 Build 3000 Current version is 2.12.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
