Alright, you might be right on that one, you keep it up this way, but
could you at least wait a little for more input before coding it ? like
Harry's proposition for example (if you want to wait no more than 2 days,
then say so in the mail)
Anyways, I leave all matters to you, I'm sure you'll
I'm with you Karel. You are doing a good job and you are closely following
the HIG. I'm sure that, if you had suggested these changes in here, we'd
end up discussing and never coding, get messed in a homemade bureaucracy,
and menus would end up being a huge mess, following contrasting opinions

I personally think this doesn't really work for this kind of project.
It was shown before that if you propose something but not trn it into
code it keeps being discussedd all over again and after all nothing
happens or the one with the original idea and motivation loses interest.
Also, when you don
What about having some ordened UI that can be reviewed later on by

negative response too imo. If you wanna sound somewhat "professional"
this wouldn't hurt and they'd might take you more serious. I found out

ok, now my head hurts.. I agree with you too.. but I already said, with my
zero UI design skills, I can't really decide, you should decide both of
you, and write that specs...
I only have one comment though, Karel, I saw you put your changes in CVS,
and as I already said, it's a great thing t
Not sure about what to think about all that, but I just want to comment on
the fact that those 'professionals' wrote that as a guideline for generic
apps, they didn't do it having amsn in mind, so you shouldn't think of
their *guidelines* as being true at 100%, keep an open mind...

OK, here I go again; In our Chatwindow, nor in any window of aMSN that
needs menus, we'reworking on files. The first menu should be about the
"object" you work on in that particular window. In a
word-processor/filemanager, you are working on (a) file(s), so this menu
is called "File". In a chat
I'm ok with removing the "webcam setup" item. I also didn't feel like
having it in there but didn't want to remove functionality you might be
used to.

Ok, chatwindow menu's are far from perfect now, so I do support Karel's
proposal to make them better, but I do not like the menu's he proposed
either. Instead of a lengthy mail with all kinds of arguments, I'd like to
make my own proposal how I'd do it. I'll add a few remarks at the end.
Okay,

I doubed this as this action clears the chat. it's like in a

A view menu is the menu where the visual appereance of the document
you're working on and the surrounding UI can be changed. It's mostly

I doubed this as this action clears the chat. it's like in a
word-processor, if you want a new fresh file to start with, this command
is in "file". Also it's more like "close chat" to start over so i

I also think view menu.. but yes, it is ambiguous...
try opening a multi convo (use me as dummy), and click any 'single user'
thing... like properties, view profile, etc...

Clear should be in edit, not chat... I don't understand "New chat ..."
what should it do ? same as "Send message" from actions menu in CL ?
webcam setup doesn't have its place in edit menu...
some stuff should be more explicit, like 'add to list' could become 'add
all participants to my contac
Hmm .. this one misses "open saved files and fotos" which I should place
underneath "view webcam history".
