Afaik you never need multicast routing configured for the Moh from flash
because this traffic has TTL=1, so it wont traverse Layer 3 boundary.
This is why you need the route attribute in the moh statement.

Is it normal that UCM streams MOH in unicast over a trunk, even if the
MRG is setup to use multicast? Perfmon shows unicast is being used, and
the holdee receives MOH (MOH server is multicast enabled, moh source is
multicast enabled and MRG is multicast)
In other words, is multicast MOH supported

I had a question, probably an easy one.
How do I verify Multicast moh playing from my flash?
Mark,
so your saying just IP pim dense mode no ip pim sparse-dense-mode?
Thanks,

Each router only decrements 1 hop per router - not interface - so
technically it would be 2 hops away.
Every interface involved in
Sparse-Dense mode tells multicast to use Sparse mode for Multicast
Groups where an RP is available and controlling the group. Where an RP
does not exist for a given Group - the stream reverts back to Dense
mode and floods everywhere.
So if you want to setup static RPs or AutoRP or
Multicast MOH Scenario's-
1.HQ Phones get M.C. Moh from CCM , BR1 Phones get
M.C. Moh from flash -
a)MC required end to end (on HQ and BR1)- ?
b) Do we need to have MC enabled on both CCM's MOH ?
2. HQ phones get Unicast from CCM Pub and BR1 phones
get M.C. Moh from CCM Sub. And we want BR1
I am little confused on Multicast MOH hops. Can somebody correct me if I am
wrong about the following.
1. MOH server is in the same vlan as voice vlan
In this case if I were to stream MMOH to Branch 1: My hop count will be 3.
1st hop is local voice vlan, 2nd hop is the WAN link and 3rd hop is the
guys,
can we get mutlitcast MOH to out ipcommunicator? I see multicast
incrementing on interfaces to BR1 with sh ip multicast interface int but
can't hear it
Thanks,
