In my '72' it looks about 2:1 the long end up ( 6 in.) going through the
fire wall to peddle. couldnt measure the short end bottom going to the throw

If you look at the back of a 65 ignition switch you will find a 12v post
available. Simply run a direct wire to the HEI.
Gotta ask - Not familiar with 65 - Does the car still use a ballast
resistor to drop the voltage to 8 or 9? If so, just bypass the resistor

Sounds to me like the skin wasn't installed correctly, they need to be final
fitted on the car. The first time I ever skinned a door while in trade school I
learned the hard way that you need to have your final fitment on the car.

I too, have a 67 and love the 67 steering wheel. If I had my act together, it
would be great to make a 14" that was new or perhaps a way to vonvert the
original with the horn buttons into a 14".
but I am out of money in this economy. Just my luck.

I myself am a big fan of the Performer RPM intake, I have run them on multiple
combos and they seem to give the best seat of the pants feel on a broad range

Even though it is just a cruiser you still need to verify for yourself what
you really want. I have gone from the Edelbrock Performer, to the Performer
RPM and now the Performer RPM Air Gap. They are all very close in price so
the latest one is what I would suggest as it is a dual-plane intake with
Edelbrock or the Weiand series are nice manifolds. Just make sure you keep it
matched to whatever carb you are using. IE if you are using a Holley carb, use
a squarebore Intake, if using a Q-jet, use a spreadbore intake. There are
adapter plates to go either way, but they are junk and restric
