Guys, Tell me if I'm wrong but From my understanding of OSPF it is LEGAL to have multiple areas with the same area ID connected toa single backbone area 0. This is because the type 3 LSAs don't contain area information.

In place of "dialer map", you can use the "dialer string" command. Then you don't need destination's IP address. HTH, Rog -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of James Kavenaugh Sent: Tuesday, August 15, 2000 3:32 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You can either use local usernames or some sort of authentication server like CiscoSecure. If you want to use local usernames just type 'login local' under the vty lines and create local usernames on the router. Regards, Aaron K. Dixon -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If you're not using authentication, I assume you're using 'dialer caller' or something similar so that the router knows which profile to bind incoming calls to. There is/was a bug where if you only had a single dialer profile, any call would be accepted, even if it didn't match the dialer
