Hi Guys,
We found an odd thing. The connetion between the ATM switch and the cisco
router were not talking the same link protocol.
We changed the conf. and now we can ping the interface even if one
su-interface is down.
Thanks to all.

You can either use default-information originate, or put a default static
route and redistribute that into OSPF. This will cause all traffic that is
not part of your internal network to be routed out via the ASBR, hence all
Internet traffic will route out through the ASBR.
Hope that helps,
What terminal program are you using? I use just plain Hyperterminal. =
Make
sure you have it set to VT100. Here is a screen shot.

Hello groupies,
I was reading the PIX book and it apparently said that the no. of connection
supported by a PIX firewall (higher order) is 500,000. Does this mean that
upto 500,000 sessions can be established or something else? If so, what do I
do if I have a thoroughput of say 2 million users?

I believe that if you check the Cisco website or documentation, you will see
that it defines a session as a single TCP or UDP connection. If somehow you
had 2M users, yet their total number of sessions never exceeded 500K, then
your firewall could handle 2M users. I am not addressing performance

FAQ, list archives, and subscription info:
When the primary is up the route table shows:
192.1.1.0/24 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks
S 192.1.1.0/24 is directly connected, Serial0/0:1
C 192.1.1.25/32 is directly connected, Serial0/0:1
When the primary goes down it shows:
192.1.1.0/24 is variably subnetted,
These are TCP and UDP connections. Keep in mind that PIX must keep a state
table for these connections so thats probably where it gets the limit from.
I really can't see how you could have 2 million users internally going
through 1 firewall so I assume you mean 2 million people hitting a webserver
I'd check the isdn stuf, deb dialer, deb isdn q931, etc...

No, too many errors. The are caused by the having the router set to half
duplex. On 2600 routers you can set the interfaces to full duplex. You
should do this on the router and on the switch for that port.

I think I can answer this one without violating NDA. MOSPF is not
covered in the lab because Cisco has chosen not to support MOSPF in
IOS. Surely you would agree that it is not easy to test something in
