Hi all,
I passed my written test a few months ago and just finished to build a

I'm curious to know what subjects are asked at the LAB test Routing

test but just the topics like:
BGP
OSPF
ISDN Frame
VPN
IPsec etc
The Cisco site says you are responsible for anything in IOS 12.1. If
the test were any more specific, it wouldn't be as highly regarded as it

One point I'd like to bring up is do you work for a Cisco partner. If you

You can get access to some practice labs, limited access to cisco personal

- IS-IS routing is one of the topics you may see in the CCIE lab; CLNS
routing and other OSI networking protocols are not part of the exam any

test a CCIE lab with a 6K switch in the pod.
From information I received from someone high in the CCIE program within
Cisco itself, I learned
So are you actually implying that it is still the Cat5 switchIf so,

Cisco has changed the lab to a 1-day format.
And how do you compared the written exam to other Cisco Exam
.

I was presently surprised to see quite a lot of availability for Lab
testing in San Jose. I'll let others comment on comparing to other
exams.

Dare I release my currently scheduled date so I can look? ;-
the rule of thumb is that you can book a date this week or in six months,
but nothing in between.
Also, I believe Cisco is opening up dates on a month by month basis. In
other words, say for the month of February the schedule was
Now you have me interested since I haven't found much of any time to
prepare for and thus schedule the lab. I logged in and in March see
sparse(if any) availability all the way to July. Argh! Time for me to
fish or cut bait this quarter.
So that answers Ed's question that he could run in
For anyone who has seen, both, the CCIE practical studies book, and
attempted the lab, how realistic are the labs in the back of the book?
The stuff dosen't look impossible (I'm not saying it's easy) but it looks
like the problem will be time. Is this true? Are the labs tougher than the
book?
