interfaces send a keepalive-type loopback packet every x no of seconds to
verify the interface's integrity. same thing happens at POST.
The message means faulty Hardware. More specifically, it is probably the Rx
of your interface that has failed.
Solution=Hardware replacement.

I opened the case with TAC. I went out and reseated the module (the site is
20 miles away from my office) and it ended up registering. Of course the
TAC guy says, 'Problem solved' and I said, not yet. I have to put 400
hospital personnel on this thing in two weeks, you need to figure out why

these modules hot swappable? So it would seem that if you just reseat the
Gig card while it's up and running, you'd know right away if the module

Looks like the image on flash went corrupt, or the
flash simm did. Try setting it up for a TFTP boot. If
you can get it to boot off TFTP erase the flash and
squeeze it and try putting a new image on the flash.
