Good Evening,    I got to watch a logger fall a very large tree exactly where he said it would land.  He laid it down between two long rows of trees with only a few live limbs broken.  After he left I got out my long tape and a shorter one just in case.  Laying down made it much easier to

Good Evening,    Conditions lately have not been great.  QSB is constant which is an oxymoron.  The noise level is not very high but neither are the signal levels so it's a wash.  The sun continues its inactivity. I was not able to get to last week's net report so we'll start with that.

Good Evening,    It was a cool week so I spent my time inside working on plumbing.  I needed to find a tool so went to the shed where they're stored.  Then my eyes wandered to the shelves of books. Three bankers boxes of my Analog collection came in the house with me.  I began reading science

Good Evening,    The fire danger has been very low this year.  I don't think we ever entered a true dry season.  Today it rained like it was the middle of November.  In about two weeks the tree which supports my main antenna has to come down.  I told them to drop it early in the week so I can

Good Evening,    Both nets had medium to deep QSB.  Reports of S3 to S7 were common.  QRN was in a steady hiss with a few crackles of summer storms on 40 meters.  Hopefully our pleading to the ion provider did not go in vain.  We may have to sacrifice a metaphor to propitiate it.   I have a
