Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft?
Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com
I just plugged mine in and it was detected automatically. I'm using 9.1 with a stock
kernel and devfsd and supermount both enabled (not sure it would make a difference,
though). It ended up adding a desktop icon to KDE, like the CD-ROM icon plus I could
access it manually from /mnt/removable.

Hi,
I'm trying to get USB 2 working under Mandrake 8.2, so far it fails to
operate correctly when I use -- "alias usb-interface ehci-hcd" in
modules.conf. Motherboard has a VIA VT8235 southbridge.
If I use "alias usb-interface usb-uhci" then USB works fine as USB ver 1.0 @

I'm not sure how the USB port is mounted but it is working correctly. If I
enter cat /proc/bus/usb/devices, I can see my camera listed. Gtkam tells me
that the USB port cannot be c

Hello All,
Forgive me for asking this question yet again; there must be an answer,
surely.
My Kodak DC3400 camera is auto-detected by gphoto2 correctly as being
connected to the USB port. Yet when I try to use the camera an error message
tells me that the USB port is busy.
Busy doing what I
Try the following, as root:
modprobe joydev
modprobe iforce , orwhatever game device you have connected.

Theo,
That kind of attitude will carry you a long way into the wi
Aparently I was anticipating a problem that I won't run into. I'm still
interested in an answer if there is one, just so I can put my mind at
ease when I eventually *do* run into it.

Hello all,
I have a two different USB gamepads I'm trying to use and am having the
same problem with both. Here is the /var/log/messages output...

I've got a new digital camera which shows up as a standard USB Storage
Device, and works wonderfully, showing up on /dev/sda1. However, I've
been thinking of picking up a USB Zip drive, and I've realized
something. I think both of these devices are standard USB Storage Devices.
How can I be
I installed via my USB CD-ROM; it was a very nice experience.
However, I told the installer that I had no SCSI drives. I suspect that may be
the reason why I do not now see my USB CD_ROM drive anywhere.
Is that right? How can I remediate this problem?
Thanks,

Hi, I'm Not a PPC user, but use firewire hard drives/dvd-r drive with
i86 linux (mandrake 8.2). I just modprobe ohci1394 and it usually takes
care of stuff for the firewire bus, (loads, ieee1394, ohci1394, and sbp2
if disks are detected). I'm not sure how the apple hardware works, so
give modpro
