which I learned is the same model as the RS.
SDR would freeze up overnight.

I always run a fused 55 amp hour gel cell across my 13.8 volt supply. It's an
auto back up and great noise filter. I use an Alinco NM-330MV switching power
supply and it doesn't seem to mind operating with the battery across the output.

For the next 2 weeks I had major issues with PowerSDR either not
running at all or the audio/panadapter view would freeze after a few
minutes until I did a Stop/Start.

That is an issue with the current version that has been corrected in the
alpha or upcoming code.. It is really transmitting at the B vfo or
split, but indicating TX on VFO A .. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm using PowerSDR 1.18.2. I have RX2 installed but turned off.

It might be a great utility buy make sure you are making the
decisions and not the tool. Its like guys running registry
cleanup/fixers. They find hundreds of "issues" and we blindly click
"fix all" then when we reboot the system doesn't work and we resort to
the "Use last known good configuration"
Go to www.tweakhound.com and look at his tweaking Vista pages. He has
2 pages on what services you can turn off. Just remember to not go
more aggressive than Level 2, it pays to take a system backup
beforehand and read the text about what each one does and see if you
know if you use it.

services that aren't need, in order to lighten the prrocess(or) load.
Today's "Windows Secrets" newsletter mentioned this freeware program

For satellite work, it is highly recommended that you have a full duplex setup
so you can monitor the downlink when transmitting. Since the FLEX-3000 is a
half duplex radio, you will need another radio to enable full duplex
capabilities - or wait until the V/U module comes out for the FLEX-5000
I was going to suggest exactly the same thing.
Turn off Vista, install XP.
Maybe in 2 or 3 years when the have W7 debugged, then W7?
