Friends,
Recently I was forced to move my Flex SDR-1000 to another PC
Since owning the FLEX-5000 I no longer use my SDR-1000. It therefore deserves a
better home.
For Sale: SDR-1000 with lots of additional extras:
a.. SDR-1000 with 100W PA. The package includes the SDR-1000; M-Audio
Delta-44 sound card; Elecraft XG1 Signal Generator (required for calibration);
It took me a couple of days but I got it working. All dlls are now x64. My
radio is 1 watt, with usb adapter. I had to sign porttalk and libusb0 with
my own test certs, and write a few glue lines for the open source Sdr1kUsb dll.

I know sdr-1000 will not be supported on win7-64 anytime soon.
But if I dump the usb-parallel cable (and it's driver) and get a
pci/parallel card (~$10) that whole issue goes away. Tim Ellison says
porttalk.sys is a problem also. Any experiences with this?
I need to sell my SDR-1000 since I've gotten a my 5000A. Late production
model w/ 100w, Automatic Antenna Tuner and Edirol FA-66 all with cables,
all in like new cndx in original packing. $675 plus shipping cost. Don

Hello to All,
Just recently purchased an Ameritron AL-811h amplifier and im new to this
amplifier and im having dificulty tunning it with my flex SDR-1000. Im using a
heil fs2 footswitch
with my pr781 mic to key the amplifier. Anyone that has this amplifier and
flex combo i could surely use

Works great for me.

Craig,
I do not have the exact combination you are asking about, but I have an
Ameritron AL-572B amplifier that I used with my SDR-1000 before I upgraded
to the FLEX-5000A.
Get a DB-15M connector, an RCA phone plug, some 2-conductor wire and make
a cable to have PowerSDR handle keying the amp.
Has anybody had experience running a SDR 1000 with the SoundBlaster
Audigy 2 VS card? It has three Line-Out jacks which probably will
require some trial-and-error to see which one properly goes to the Line
Out on the SDR. No big deal but it might be nice to know in advance how
to hook the
Do you mean the ZS

The short answer is yes its worth the 500 bux
The SDR-1000 while an excellent radio is first generation. As such it was the
platform the designers learned on. It is missing much of the present day
functionality and fine tuning that the F3K possesses. It also takes
considerable time to set

I am interested in purchasing a SDR radio
So generally is there really a 4-500 dollar difference between the
two?
Tim and Lee have given you one perspective. Let me TRY to provide
another.
I'd say it depends on what you want to achieve, what you consider $500
worth of difference, your experience with computers, and your approach
Hi Don,
I have owned my SDR-1000 since 2005.
Here are some disadvantages of the SDR-1000:
Probably the biggest concern is that the performance
depends on the sound card that you use in your PC.
There are only a few supported. I use the M-Audio
Delta 44 alternating with the HPSDR
First thank you all for responding.
At this point I am leaning towards the F3K.
My primary operating bands are 80,40,20 so transverters
are not of concern. Because I use a loop, ATU's are not a concern.
I am use to computers and I am currently using a dual boot system with
