You use the Legacy backup on the first computer and then the Legacy Restore

Firstly when you buy a flash drive you will need one large enough to take
all the information you wish to put on it. I use a 2Gb at the moment, but
my files are fairly small therefore I have room to expand. I know there are

A flash drive must have a life, at which time the battery would expire
and you would lose your data. I make multiple CD copies and store them in
different locations for secure backups.

I agree with keeping a backup copy off site. Disasters like Hurricane

Myrna,
Legacy doesn't run directly from the flash drive. There are files that
Legacy depends on that might not be on a computer unless it has Legacy
already installed.
I keep the Legacy6Setup.exe file on my flash drive and can install it on any
computer as the standard version of Legacy.
As back up away from the house, I put it on a zip disk or CD and every
few months give it to
my parents, they put it in their fire protected safe.
I also have the date zipped and protected with a password mailed
to my G-mail account.

Hi Laura,
This is my understanding of the situation...
No data will be lost, you just won't be able to access the Deluxe
features (and therefore the data stored in those areas) while using the

Deluxe, it will all be accessible
Do you use/need Hebrew calendar dates for b d m? Can Legacy accept this

Laura,
The standard deluxe versions are the exact program. You can add any all
data in the standard version, but some views are restricted to the deluxe
version. No data is lost.
Some of the advanced features are also restricted to the deluxe version.

Hi Gary,
An alternative to digest, which you've now discovered isn't available

You may want to look into a genealogy program designed specifically for

gives you fields that relate specifically to those of the Jewish Faith. You

Believe it or not - attach it as a SOUND FILE (change the file extension
