Myrna, Legacy doesn't run directly from the flash drive. There are files that Legacy depends on that might not be on a computer unless it has Legacy already installed. I keep the Legacy6Setup.exe file on my flash drive and can install it on any computer as the standard version of Legacy.

You may want to look into a genealogy program designed specifically for Hebrew dates and names. It also handles other languages very well, but it gives you fields that relate specifically to those of the Jewish Faith. You may be able to export the data into Legacy, but I have not tried it. The

Portable Apps requires that the application (Legacy for instance) be modified to run in the Portable Apps environment. The modification instructions are on their website. Since it requires modification, there are Legacy licensing issues to consider, as well as the technical knowledge required.
